Well done- except for the images at the "Heydrich Curve." The curve was altered after the war. The actual stopping site of Heydrich's car is near the bus stop shelter seen at 2:14. The 1942 road came straight down over that sunken 'open' area before making a hairpin turn to the right. The modern exit ramp was a wooded area in 1942.
@christophermarks6260 thank you very much for the comment. Indeed, the curve was modified and the superimposition of images was carried out in that way in order to better understand the before and now. Greetings from Argentina.
hillman scooter, thank you very much for watching and for your comment. I have many places scheduled to use in my videos, including the Pacific War, the problem is that I do not have as much time as I would like to have. Greetings from Argentina.
Good job, Well done! The comparison of the location of the attack on Heydrich is slightly inaccurate, the wreckage of the Mercedes-Benz remained standing in the places where the bus stop is today. This place has been completely rebuilt, the sharp right hand turn is not the same one with the picket fence around it.
@kovcus I agree with your comments. Due to the reconstruction of the avenue and the modification of the original curve, I had to position the vehicle a few meters forward. Greetings from Argentina.
Just to be punctual from history perspective. There was not Czech president in exile but Czechoslovak and the same apply for commando as you wrote. For example, Maj. general in memoriam Jozef Gabčík was Slovak. However, good job. These heroes don’t have to be forgotten.
Great pictures but the road at that time passed at a different angle, the turn was at the site of an underpass across the road, the fence of the site with the house captured the current territory of the roadway
Qain Max, thank you for your comment. You're right, the curve has been modified to join the highway, but the place of the attack is the same. Greetings from Argentina.
An excellent then and now series. A fascinating step back in time and place to where real heroism stood up against tyranny. Anthropoid was a great movie but for me Operation Daybreak (1975) is a very haunting and moving experience. The bravery of all the souls involved with this operation is breathtaking. Thank you for taking the time to show us where such acts took place.
Your work is wonderful. It is so heartbreaking to think of all the death and destruction. Looking back it all seems so senseless. One mad man bent on domination destroyed so many lives.
I remember when I first heard this story on hunting nazi criminals I think was the show. After watching the episode about this i was shocked a movie had never been made and then about 6 months later I found this movie Anthropoid and man it was an amazing movie.

Well, some czech historicians say that if it was not this operation there is probably no Czechoslovakia after ending WWII. God knows that such argumentation was redeemed by blood of the elite, by the best of the bests of my country.
