Congratulations on moving to New York and a new phase. Change, future and individual preferences are different for all people. People have to have the desire to want change, willingness, and flexibility to accept change. One never knows what will happen in the future, whether 10 minutes or 10 years, so if they can handle it, they should make the leap and not regret the decision. We have one life and no do-overs, and there shouldn't be regrets. Just accept what happens, happens. Do what makes one happy/content.
have been waiting to hear more about this since i heard the mini episode! i moved from the east coast to LA just last year. i worked in NYC for 9 years, and i loved it. i love LA, but ill always feel that NYC is the best city in the world
Congratulations Mel and Ray on your big move to NY! I am so happy and excited for y'all. I wish you talked more about how you're feeling/what it's been like transitioning away from living with your long-time friend and roommate, Dar. Your relationship reminds me of Monica and Rachel from Friends and this time in your life reminds me of the episode when Monica was moving out of the apartment to live with Chandler. I understand that there's so much to look forward to, and I'm sure there's this deep sadness too. I look forward to how everything will go and can't wait to see how this new adventure will unfold for you!! ❤
Subscribed to you ladies a while back but this is the first time I watched a whole episode. Glad I did! Moving is the best and creates so much growth and opportunity! Excited to see where this takes you and your brand. (Coming from a woman in the military…who’s had to move countless times as an adult 🙌)
Dear Mel, congratulations on the new move to New York. I’m so excited for you! I’m also in the process of moving to Boston from London at the end of June.
I can relate so much to this conversation and big change Mel. I’m actually moving in a month to another continent by myself. It still feels surreal but at the same time I am really excited and I know I need to challenge myself like that. Hope the best for everyone that is in a period of transition or moving somewhere new or abroad. We are going to learn so much from this new experience 😊
Congratulations on your move to New York, Mel! I’m so excited for this next chapter of your life!! I’ve moved to Hong Kong and now Singapore from North America, so I’d love to hear you, Helen and Janet have an episode talking about your experience of moving to somewhere new in your 20s/30s!
I highly recommend the Gotman Institute books and blog and everything Gottman to help you feel better and feel more confident in having a STRONG relationship! Congratulations to Mel and her bf on new adventures!
I moved from CA to NYC alone at 27 and would love to hear about Mel’s experience! Specifically, moving in as someone who’s a little more established (experience wise and financially), and who has the support of her partner!
I would LOVE to see a 6 month or 1 year recap after Mel moves and see how much she’s changed and grown!!
