    Pop is definitely a good song to show if your focus was on improving your arm strength there's a lot of arm choreo in it

    The team chemistry aspect is something I’m most concerned about with this project. Moreso than their individual talents, they need to be a cohesive unit. And though there are many western bands whose dynamics are more “coworkers” than “friends,” k-pop stands out because almost moreso than music, their marketability lies in being general on-screen personalities. If they’re gonna emulate k-pop groups, the girls will have to interact together for a multitude of vlogs, livestreams, and variety show appearances, so if they don’t have natural chemistry together, it will make for visible awkwardness and “bad TV.”
    I don’t see any immediate red-flags of toxic personalities with this set of contestants, but for longevity and general sanity, it’s also more preferable to have a well-functioning, cooperative group of maybe lesser-talented people than to keep around a super-talented a-hole “rockstar” who is always poisoning the vibes. I’ve experienced this in my time working various jobs; it turns out my job satisfaction hinges more on the people around me than what I’m doing. I’m more willing to put up with frustration or dullness of work if I click with the people around me.

    • @StayMultiverse
      @StayMultiverse  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I absolutely agree. They’re going to have to focus really hard on team building and bringing these girls together. There really is such an emphasis on team dynamic in kpop, it’s going to be extremely important.
      I don’t either. I think seeing them in the practice room may give a better idea of how they work together and interact though.
      Oh I couldn’t agree more. Your relationship with those around you will make or break a job. Having a harmonious and easy going relationship with your coworker makes things so much easier.

    I want to talk about Mitscha and Melissa in this episode, as everyone only talks about contestants who have received good reviews.
    They have good vocal potential, but the problem is that there are many people in the team who have as good vocal potential as they do. In contrast, Savannah is almost the only rapper who has had the good fortune.
    Of course, they tried their best for dance performance, but they had to show a more impressive appearance. The level of effort was not up to expectations of Jyp, or the direction of the effort was not appropriate. Mitsha is so skinny that she has no strength in her voice and her dancing doesn't look great. The trend of kpop these days is beautiful healthy beauty. In my views, both contestants would be at stake in this game unless they perform reasonably well going forward.
    I wrote this text in Korean and ran Google Translate. haha

    • @StayMultiverse
      @StayMultiverse  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They do have vocal potential. But I agree, most the team does as well.
      They’d have to work very hard to prove their spot on their team and their ability to shine. It’s not impossible but right now I agree that they’re sitting at the bottom of the lineup.
      Mischa is quite thin, although that can just be how she is. Some girls are just more naturally thin, especially as they keep growing.
      It will be interesting to see if they make it or not.
      Haha that works! I understand everything you said! ☺️

    • @StayMultiverse
      @StayMultiverse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I noticed that as well… I hope that really do get a fair chance… because it’s never a good sign in a show when they get less time.

  • @dafunkk12
    @dafunkk12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One thing I like about KG’s initial dance audition is that she (perhaps ignorantly) chose a non-k-pop song, requiring she develop original choreography. I really would’ve liked to see more variety than just Dalla, Dalla that round and maybe also have the more experienced dancers dare to have brought their own choreo/interpretations to the table. I can’t blame them, though, for wanting to express the concept of “this is how well I’ve learned the prescribed choreo.” It was a safer bet.

    • @dafunkk12
      @dafunkk12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For that matter, I do like that a couple of the contestants this episode electively chose to perform to less current/popular songs from the JYPE catalog. I’m looking forward to seeing more of that as the boot camp and showcases continue. While the Japanese Nizi Project girls were made to learn and perform Korean-language songs, I don’t think this set of contestants will be made to learn and sing foreign language songs (dancing to the Korean-language songs being different because no singing was required).
      Even if Republic Records songs aren’t having original choreography developed for them for the later group performance rounds, JYPE has developed a growing catalog of English-language versions (or English-only) of their K-pop songs from which to choose. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing a bunch of Wonder Girls’ English songs dusted off, as I felt that because they were being positioned with a direct focus on breaking through in the American market, their translations and delivery sounded more natural than even most English-language K-Pop songs these days. (If they could have finangled access to the SM library, BoA’s English-language 2009 album also sounded very, very natural.)

    • @StayMultiverse
      @StayMultiverse  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s interesting, I hadn’t thought about that. But that’s true, most did follow already set choreography. It would show a very different side to be able to choreograph their own. But it definitely could also be a bit more risky. I don’t blame them either for playing it safe.
      I liked the different song choices as well! The variety makes it very interesting.
      It wouldn’t surprise me if later in they do Korean versions of their songs but I also believe most of their music will be in English.
      Ahh see I don’t actually know a lot about Wonder Girls. I may have to start exploring their discography more. I knew that JYP had started a more international focus with them but that’s about it..

    • @dafunkk12
      @dafunkk12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@evanyong5871Definitely agree. There will be an even greater sense of “wasted potential” if she was unable to make good use of the resources afforded to her. However, if/when she moves forward, I think she’ll only be able to utilize JYPE’s training resources, though she may be able to still benefit from nice care packages sent from home that can help with psychological and morale management, if not direct tutelage.

    • @dafunkk12
      @dafunkk12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She seems to be an incredibly high-achiever, with likely both internal and external pressures from herself and her parents, so I hope the rigors of this training process don’t negatively affect her psyche and health like NiziPro’s Miihi.
