chump change just selling honey straight imo. package the honey in a specialized/fancy way for weddings, special occasions, events, etc. and sell at marked up price. otherwise you're better off going school for a specialized job, much easier to make money that way. however, it is very fun to give away honey to friends and family and because you enjoy it and the process and bees. I would do 1,000 hives if flow hive frames (assuming they're improved) ever drop to $20 for 7 (quality chinese knock-offs?), then buy boxes cheap. but even $100,000 is still crap money for all the work, unless you truly enjoy it. the real money is providing honey products in expensive packaging for events, not just selling straight honey. but to make excellent honey you'll need to live in the right location with certain flowers.

I just got me a Langstrof hive box with two brood chambers and a super. Is the top inner cover supposed to have a notch in the side? I notice some of them in various videos have one, and I have understood it is for increased ventilation and moisture control. Also, my bottom board is solid. Should I have a screened board for varroa mite control?
when you put a queen excluder, do the normal bees go through the excluder and into the upper hives? or you need to fill the upper ones with bees already and have an excluder to divide them?
The excluder only blocks the queen, the other bees can get through because they are smaller. So you dont need to fill it above the excluder, they can go back and forth
Very informative video. I really appreciate it. You mentioned if the population of your bees increase you may need to split the hive and sell it. Sense there is only one queen and you don’t want to sell her with the new hive, how am I to get another queen for the new split hive? Does the original queen lay another queen which I can place in the new hive?
Please, keep in mind, that feeding Bees with sugar causes weaknes of immunity system, increasing acidity level of their bodies that lead to many various fungus, bacterial and viral diseases due to lack of nourishment being only on sugar based diet for whole autumn, winter and beginning of the spring. If you want to keep your Bees healthy and fit during that long mentioned period .please leave MOST of the honey, pollon, vax, milk, and propolis in beehive for their use. If Reserves of Honey have not been fully used by Bee's family over the winter and in new seson, that looks promisable, Bees have started to produce new honey, honey from previous year might also be partly used. It is great art to corectly manage with Bees kolonies. Keep sensible and look well after this superimportant insects, because in your hand lays their health and life and also the future of whole Planet. Avoid buying honey, it mostly has been fully stolen and replaced with sugar syrup. Take Care. B.T.W. Eat organic, it also helps a lot.

Suggest looking up the definition of the word super which means "above". How do you have a super above a super ? (ie a"Deep Super" below a "Honey Super" ?at 10:36).
You take the frames out of the nuc and put them in the hive. the nuc looks like a hive. why cant you just use the nuc... ie use it as the hive? ie have the nuc on the bottom? then an excluder then the supers
I think its because the nuc are different size to the rest of the bee hive. Also the nuc is covered over (apart from the lid) on all sides to stop bees from escaping, where as the supers don't have top or a bottom. But maybe they should invent something like where the nuc is exact size as the body of the hive and the top and bottom covers can be removed. Some people have made bee hives using just boxes from nucs. Advantage is that its less messing around and bees stay slight bit warmer, but disadvantage is that it gets filled too quickly. Its narrow and you have more of a limit to how much you can stack on top of each other.
Nuc's are 4 or 5 frame, and I have seen where the University of Guelff, has put 2 nuc's side by side, under a queen excluder, and a single super, kinda interesting
Bees would run out of space in no time and start to swarm. Depending on climate, there may not be enough bees there because of space to keep the colony warm in winter. Nucs make good queen rearing stations. You can pack them with bees in a little time to make the bees think to make queen cells so they can swarm. Or you just put 3 frames where one is a frame with larvea and then take the queen out of it and the bees in the nuc will make a emergency queen cell where a new queen should emerge in 12 days and will mate within 5 days and will start laying eggs.

Lol. You make it so easy. Fact is that 80% new beekeepers will quit after first winter. If people follow your video and don't do they're research they will crash and burn very fast
do you have trusted resources to point me in the right direction? I'm looking to start beekeeping, not necessarily honey bees, maybe bumble bees just to help pollinate my fruit trees
