The Tecsun is interesting. I have the Realistic/Sangean , I don’t tolerate the “chuffing” nearly as well as you. I wish it had at least 100hz tuning step, and the bfo pitch is very fiddly, I’d rather a proper usb/lsb switch. 30 years ago I wanted a Sony ICF-2010 but could only afford the ATS-803A 😀
I have the DX-390 ( I used to have the DX-440). I also have a C.Crane CCRadioSW, And smaller radios: [1st. Gen. ATS-909] Tecsun PL-880, PL660, XHdata D-808 Kaito KA-1103 C.Crane CCSKywaveSSB [ Grundig G-6”Buzz Aldren “ Zenith Trans Oceanic R-7000y All with SSB capability. ... and othe SW radios. 📻🙂
Interesting.
Both well respected radios.
Good comparison.
I’d like to see the difference on MW.
📻🙂
at least 30 years diff in technology between these 2

you're trying to compare apples and oranges... ones a table top the other a communications receiver...
