My thoughts on expensive scopes are they’re for your shooting pleasure. As for the hw97 I shot a Sandwell Field sports tuned one this morning which had the tits tuned off it new spring, guides, lightened piston, polished trigger sears. Shockingly good and bloody fast.
You can't go wrong with a hw97. My shooting since I've had mine is just spot on. It's definitely the only rifle I'll ever need. But mine is a 177 and I would also thing about getting a 22 as well in the future. I just checked out Sandwell Field sport, they seem to have a good reputation, and I bet your hw97 is amazing after they had their hand on it.
I agree my HW97k is absoloutley fantastic, superb accuracy, my favourite rifle that I've ever shot with and I've used plenty, i do have a Diana 54 arriving shortly so I'll be very interested to see how it compares to my HW97k.

@Stafford Boy I saw the Doana 54 on AAR. It looks pretty impressive.
