They’re so good. And he mentioned that “Sunrise Tells the Story” failed as a single, which makes me sad. I love that song. I guess I could see how it’s not a single, but the story and the imagery is so good, and the chorus is so fun

It’s hard not to like a song by Morgan Wallen. You proof is definitely more on the poppy side but somehow still feels pretty country to me. He’s the only guy I know of that’s been able to put out more pop sounding songs but also make them sound overall good.

    • @ahhculdee

As a newer fan of country music, songs like You Proof by Morgan helped me dive into this genre that I'm obsessed with now! The more country I listen too, songs like that appeal to me less now, but I still appreciate it on a more superficial level. Overall I like it, but I can see why others would hate it

She’s incorporating country with vocoders, blending mix with pop and 808’s she’s also such a great songwriter, honestly I’ve said it once, we are in 2022, the woman are killing it in country music and if they wanna explore/mix other genres let them do it! It’s there version of country music.

Morgan had to put out a pop-snap track release … keep that demographic of his fan base happy. I get it. I do sort of like how he can do such emotionally honest songs and the craptastic stuff like You Proof. He could have stuck to that genre and had a whole career. I don’t know if another label would have built his career like Big Loud has.

Different styles and vocal tones, but how Carter was singing in the snippet at 6:35 reminded me of how Robinson has vocalized at points. She's currently signed to the label busbee founded.

Just a comment about "You Proof" by Morgan. I agree with you I am not a fan but it was interesting to see at the Church Wallen Ernest show in Minnesota this past weekend (6/11/22) that the ladies freaking love You Proof. I was shocked as I consider it one of Morgan's weakest songs along with Need a Boat. the local news papers ripped Morgan in their reviews of the show but loved Eric Church but to me they are showing their bias for Morgan's actions off stage. His show was great and I am glad I got to see him live in person. Anything with piano by Morgan hit you right in the feels and Whiskey Glasses really is a once in a lifetime song and is a great closer for Morgan shows.
