There is a super sweet side of him. I remember back then in 2013-2014 when they had nothing, he promised ARMYS that he was going to buy them food on his birthday (beef meat bc it's very expensive in Korea) when he becomes rich... And last year, he actually bought a lot of beef for an orphanage on his birthday😭 he kept it a secret but then the orphanage revealed it and thanked him

it amuses me when people are highkey impressed with yoongi's dancing skillz. because he does have a bit of a dance background which he's really only mentioned once or twice. before he was in that car accident as a trainee he did b-boying but he couldn't anymore because his shoulder got so injured. 💜💜💜
also with the basketball, he was good enough in high school to get scouted! we stan a multi-talented boy! it was probably the only time he was motivated to run in his life lol
Suga can dance & had dancing experience even before debut... he did some b-boying but stopped due to his shoulder injury from an accident while doing part-time job prior debut...He also was one of the backup dancers (together with Hobi & Kookie) for the other artists in BigHit before debuting... I feel that another sign that he was a b-boy in his younger days is the way he moves to the front when it's his turn to rap/sing while dancing in a group. His body is not facing the front, but insteading facing sideways or even slightly to the back. Just like how b-boy or some hiphop dancers moves to the centre of the dance floor when it's their turn during a dance battle or solo. I feel that it's so iconic, as Suga is the only one in BTS to move in this way, it's so ingrained in him. :)
Suga is a basketball player way way before he joined BTS. He's tall when he's a kid. He said he didn't know that he'd stop growing HAHAHA He's always been a basketball player but wanted to pursue music so he went to Seoul (capital of S Korea). He still plays. but doesn't really have time now.

In high school, Yoongi was in a basketball team, as well as class president, and he was pretty nerdy. He can spin the ball on his index finger for as long as 5 minutes (He's super good). And the stage name "Suga" came from his position on his basketball team 'shooting guard'. He wanted to be an architect growing up, but got into music in middle school.

the basketball game was from ISAC. It's like the olympics of kpop idols lol. every kpop group joins and comes together once every year and they do race, korean wrestling, rhythmic gymnastics, archery, bowling, etc. BTS hasn't been to the recent ones cuz people say they've been banned cuz they broke a rule of using and taking pictures inside the gymnasium but a lot of kpop idols do it so just think they have been too busy to go.

not sure if you both know this already, but a fun fact! a lot of folks often assume yoongi's stage name "suga" is in reference to sugar, but it has nothing to do with it at all--it's actually the shortened version of the basketball position term "shooting guard", which was his position in the team(s?) he played pre-debut!

Suga said Hitman Bang told him he wouldnt have to dance but hes actually a really good dancer. Like all of BTS they always do their best even if they are doing something they didnt expect to be doing when they first joined the company. To me its funny when people think Suga is savage as hes actually very caring and the one to be frightened of when they are mad is Jimin according to BTS themselves.
Thank you for reacting to this. The IDOL Athletics competition has a 7-10 minute video with English subs that shows more of him playing basketball. Jimin was there to cheer him on. So supportive! 💜 He played in school and was pretty good - one of his positions was Shooting Guard which is where Suga comes from.... he still says basketball is his hobby..... Luv all these guys and their unique stories and talents and personalities..... he really is like the dad who can be goofy and will but is quietly strong and silently supporting them from behind..... thanks again!!!!!

Anyway about SUGA and his basketball, he used to play basketball when he was middle school and wanted to be professional basketball player. His position was SG(Shooting guard - rumor has that his stage name came from this) and really good at it. But after puberty his hight was not suitable for his position and after some consideration, he decided to go different path. Basketball is still his favorite sport and I heard that he try to shoot and hoop sometime to time. Hope this info could ease up your curiosity. Keep up the great work. Yoongi’s really is the most softest boy ever. Like he isn’t that terrifying to the boys and he’s just really cute and his energy would come out and make the boys laugh, he’s like a grandpa but so cute and not intimidating at all.
you guys seem to focus a lot on his pains and struggles. this is a thing usually newer and younger fans do a lot. of course that’s a big part of him and his music but the way it’s portrayed sometimes makes him seem one dimensional. it would be nice if people could stop putting him under titles like “deep and in pain” or “swaggy and savage”. he’s a very all rounded person and his character brings a lot to the table. he’s very sweet, soft, cute, and quiet as a person, hard hitting as a rapper, considerate and deep as a producer etc. also them teefs ARE cute, don’t worry that’s a thing. 100% of the yoontopian population feel that sentiment.
i 100% agree, sometimes i feel like newer fans get attached to stereotypes put on the boys by other fans that can’t seem to let them go, so they always put them in this one little box and get surprised when they do a normal human thing
the reason why we said pain and struggles and can feel them. We have had a lot of pain and struggles and could relate to them. We see the other sides to him that he is sweet and soft and a quiet person the more we get to know him. I don't really know how to describe it any better than that.

You should watch the min yoongi episode from squishy min yoongi you won’t get to know him on a personal level but you get to know him pretty well from there. He actually played basketball before like through school but i think it was like his hobby. If not some of you army intellectuals come and correct me.
I think of Suga as that one gamer friend you have, usually just half zombie from staying up all night, but every once in a while is riding the manic edge of sleep deprivation and will do stuff that’ll be way more crazy than anything they would normally lecture you for.

The ghost photoshoot is from "BTS Now 3 (BTS in Chicago)". They were divided into teams with different themes. Jin, Hoseok and Jimin did Home Alone, Taehyung and Jungkook did Pokemon, and Namjoon and Yoongi did the ghost thing from a horror movie 😂

I don't know if you've already gotten the answer, but all those sports clips that you see in these videos are from the Idol Star Athletic Championships, an Olympic type event where different idols gather and compete together and against each other. It's very entertaining and produce many heart-warming scenes between group members and between different groups. I recommend you looking it up.
