around the 8:45 mark, I believe the TAS approximation is IAS plus 2% of IAS times number of thousands. example: if I’m at 5000 ft and my IAS is 100 knots. I add 2% of 100 times 5 (or a value of 10) to my IAS to approximate a TAS of 110.
