That Rlaarlo need a suspension tune and some good tires for the pad bro… in my opinion. But they both look fun. And hell yeah on the new Losi NASCAR cars on your track!! All day
Very cool head to head. You could probably benefit from adding some plastic tubing or some insulation to those walls. Save those beautiful bodies! I think the square setup on the 917 is not enough for track driving. 2x wider rears and maybe turn the power down and that car would handle great I think. Looking forward to the next one!
That Rlaarlo has crazy power, and it clearly doesn't want to contain it to your track. haha The Redcat looked very smooth and consistent. That's a winning formula when it comes to racing.
You might consider some Mini touring cars like the Tamiya, Carten, and Integy as spec racers that are very affordable. They would be a fun class with a variety of body options.
You know what handle better on that oval course? The Rlaarlo 1/2 desert buggy with street tires on 2s lipo. We have been racing them in small parking lot ovals and they drift and handle better than actual touring cars and drift cars. You just have to put a gyro. Especially if driving one handed. Put some street tires on your desert buggy you will thank me later. We added a wing on the Desert buggy from the Rlaarlo 1/12 scale buggy. They look like oval mini sprint cars with the wings.
Redcat’s keeping the power to the ground. Rlaarlo just wants to spin. Some sticky foams on both cars could really make a difference. Spf 50 sun screen on foam tires makes great traction compound. Just so ya know Joe 😁
I know you like to do the one hand thing, but this is the point where using both becomes necessary. You'll have much better control of the faster cars. I'm not knocking the one handing for crawling, but the more racing stuff almost requires using both hands. And you could use a GoPro with a Heady rig.
For a better comparison they should have had same tires. I know they were similar but not the same. I know this defeats your premise of this shootout but maybe another video where U turn down the Rlaarlo power? Either Tx switch or esc setting? And omg I can’t wait for the NASCAR units. Those 1/12 are gonna be perfect. I can see U guys picking drivers and customizing the liveries! Great job Joe and Sean. And can’t wait for the track additions. GONNA BE EPIC.
Trying to race on that sealed concrete has to be a trial. It doesn't have anywhere near the traction that asphalt or carpet provide for on-road car racing. It looks downright slippery. You definitely get some interesting corner drift, though.
Joe, I got a little secret for you; this is not offroading! So don't drive like you are! 😅 Try to keep traction and make smooth turns to keep the speed as constant as possible. It seems like you have a habit of deliberately breaking traction and trying to powerslide through the corners... that is not the quickest way on road. It's the quickest way into the barrier as you demonstrate flawlessly 😂
My local hobby shop just got in the Axial Dig Kit and I purchased but not opened it yet, does anybody know if this is capable with the Axial SCX 10ii? I’m pretty sure it’s not but if there is a way to make it please let me know🙏🏻👍🏻
Ralaarlo is the worst RC company I ever delt with. Shame TH-camrs shill them and help hype them when they can’t even deliver cars to customers. Not to mention their customer support practically doesn’t exist.
Slower is & always will be faster🤷♂️! RC: have u ever watched a real drift race? Skillz Is a gross understatement! BUT, if you're racing 'oval', u don't want any slide. Touring car too. But it'll be almost impossible to do oval/TC on untreated concrete IMHO. Locals here, all the old drift racers are running offroad or dirt oval nowadays.

Redcat has a true 1 way front diff for THAT car. Don't want it UNLESS ur doing t/c tho. Makes a massive improvement tho😁

Swap out those little stock tires on the RLAARLO, it really needs a wider tire on rear.
What you need to do is paint some lines! It might help with driving..

The Rlaarlo is over powered but it does seem more fun figuring out the timing to turn and slide into the corners 🤣.
Need to drag the track with a lawn mower and chunk of tire to lay down some rubber for traction
