Lemon Lime Turtle Your avi photo is pretty. My kids are funny. He decided after me saying the first time that they were noisy children, that fake farting noises with his mouth was the perfect thing to do, so there are plenty of fake farting noises at the end lol... I decided to leave the sound in at the end because I though it was funny, and will let him hear himself making farting noises in the background. He is such a boy... lol
So lovely! What brand coloring do you use for the hot chocolates/teas, etc? My chalks have been so gritty and frustrating. Plus where do you get fimo gel...TLS is not shiny enough...thanks!
Donna Shore, I use pastels only when the sauce or drink can have the specks of color. Any powdered food coloring brand will mix in much faster. I get them from Global sugar arts now. I have also bought them from a local candy/ cake speacialty shop before. The one close to me is called Cake Palace.
It is hard to say. I made 30 tea cups at one time, a batch of candy canes at one time, and had the plates from when I made them before. The mint canes took awhile too. I tend to make things in batches though, so I filled all 30 tiny teacups with the coffee. It is worth it when you do batches so you don't waste clay and time. Fro instance it takes me a weekend to do a batch of rainbow lollipops, but after that weekend I could have a good 250 - 300 lollipops.
These are beautiful, as is all your work. As well as being very talented, you are also very generous for taking the time to make these videos and share your knowledge with us. Thank you.
Hi Heather! I LOVE your tutorials. This one is so cute. I apologize if you've been asked this question before, but at what temperature and how long do you bake your pieces?
It has been a long time, I followed the directions on my clay package. Thin pieces like that tended to be in 15 minute to 20 minutes each baking session
I would use corn starch to keep the clay from sticking while working with it. Flour if I want a little textured effect. But I would commonly use. Either to keep the clay from sticking. Then dust it off after baking
So cute, I'm definitely going to try this. Where did you get that icing tip? I have to push my icing through a regular tip with a paintbrush handle. That's such a time saver :3
@@heathernwells I kept looking for the flat star plate to go inside of the extruder lol... so I took out my cake decorating tips and used it to like everyone else by sticking my ball tipped tools to push it out and then bought clay softener becuz it was killing my hands..I pot your video in slow motion and went wow wheat the heck why didn't I do the same thing put the 2 ideas together!... thanx for actually showing it in your tutorial that it can be done!..I love my extruder(same as yours)..
The clay extruded was from Micheals arts and crafts. The tips were Wilton I believe. They came in a multi tip case. They do t fit well at first, but after using it a couple times it warps that back enough for a perfect fit
Super cute! Love them! Thanks 4 the video! What brand of clay do u prefer to work with? I started with sculpey 111 and I hate it, so I'm in the market to find a good strong polymer clay. So which is ur fav?
Ahhh! Heather, how are you so amazingly talented?! I've been busy with tests and school work I haven't been able to watch some of your videos... must catch up during weekend, haha! Gosh, they are all so perfect and wonderful!
AhaTralala Thank you so much! If you do make the peppermints, and cane canes, reduce and bake a few lengths for future use ;) There may be something you would like do use them in later this winter season :)
Missmir Thank you so much! It does get a little more intuitive over time. For the tiny coffee cup the canes won't have to be perfect :) Thanks for coming back :)
Yep :) I bake them right after adding the liquid coffee, then I add the frosting and peppermint, candy cane pieces, place it on the plate add the final candy cane and bake one last time. So the cup bakes a total of three times, and the plates twice.
My little guy is visiting his grandma right now, and my 14 year old is chatting with her friends :) I am trying to draw the design for my next project ;)
LOVE THIS!♡ Great tutorial! I don't understand the past where you're rubbing the cup in water on the black paper. looking thru comments, but haven't seen anyone asking same ? Thank you for the inspirational tutorial! ♡
+Shanna Ferro It's sandpaper, 400 grit I believe. Placing the sandpaper underwater helps to trap the debris from sanding the clay down. Sanding the cups helps to even the edges out. Hope this helped :)) xx
sosho bader I will try to make one pretty soon :) Hopefully Rory will see this comment, I think he said he uses acetate? I tend to go through a few steps, before using white clay, and work on a stack white paper if I have to leave my clay for anything more than a few minutes I place the clay under the top sheet of paper, so lint settles while I am gone. I will try to film one soon.

homedaycare You can use the Translucent Liquid Sculpey (TLS) :) It will look the same on this little guy because the coffee is dark and doesn't need to look transparent. I added notes too, but youtube editor just wasn't working :( I used TLS as the glue holding the whipped cream to the coffee, and to hold the sprinkles, and peppermints on, and the candy cane to the plate. Heather
Jenny Ramos I use Premo almost exclusively. It ruined over $2,000.00 worth of inventory. :( I heard future floor wax is amazing, but I haven't played with it much. I really want to find something exactly like the old Sculpey glaze
