Cuz here in Toronto the air pods pro max cost $700 cad and the Sony 1000xm5 cost $500

Why do people love the folding feature of headphones so much the only time I would fold my old headphones was to stick it in the case. If you’re travelling you aren’t carrying the case in your hand you have it in bag so case size doesn’t matter
I own the 3’s and 4’s. I look forward to a definitive upgrade. I still use the xm3’s on a consistent basis. Keep the great reviews rolling.💎

@@IroAppe I have both the reason I go back is because of that spacial audio feature on the xm3 that they removed from the xm4 (arena, club, outdoor, and concert).

headphones I've ever had. Having 30- hrs of
battery life and fast charging is amazing.
The fact that the included case is better than the airpods max, they can actually be turned off, headphone jack, better bluetooth codecs, $100-$150 cheaper, usb c for charging, and more durable headband make these a better choice than the airpods max.
Sony for better bass, no brainer
I ended up going with the wf 1000 xm4, they make my airpods pro sound like garbage.
The AirPods sound better tho

@@hadesmc5246 they're great battery life is exceptional sound is a bit soft and muffled but if you prefer it like how it is on xm4 you could adjust eq settings I have a good one I found online but I don't really use it cuz I prefer the default eq settings and the noise cancelation is also very good
Yes, I couldn't agree with you more about how the Airpod Max is way overpriced. I'd rather just get two sets of Airpod Pro's, for me and wifey! That being said, I think the new Sony wireless headphones are definitely worth the price tag. Having double processors and 8 microphones! I'd love to experience that while I'm either watching a movie at home or listening to music travelling by bus.
Yes I agree on all the claims if I wouldn’t have gotten a good deal on my AirPods max ($417) after tax I would’ve gotten these mx5

Love the new packaging, honestly their supposed to be travel commercial headphones, high res on Sony headphones is like the Dolby tag on gaming headsets
Lol hi res Bluetooth never don't exist
But the 3.5mm jack hole on the headphones is where hi res lives
It's why I plan to get a helm volume booster and a silver dragon cable and go full hifi on them
Bluetooth is classed as lossy not lossless or hi res think you belive in the lies and bullshit

Do the XM5s have some sort of 3D audio or spatial audio feature like the airpod maxs? I will never turn that feature off I’m obsessed with spatial audio

xm5 cups are not stuck in place though they are very much removeable not like airpod but very removable with a pull.
I didn't get the xm3 and waited then got the xm4 and the duel pairing devices is so nice.

I don't know if you'll see this but you mentioned at 4:30 how the earpads on the xm5's are stuck in place
The earpads on the xm4's are held in with clips and I believe they are meant to be removable. There is a 3rd party market for replacement pads, I'm not sure off the top of my head if Sony sells replacement pads first hand. I'd want to see someone do a teardown video in order to get an idea as to how they approached this on the xm5's but if I had to guess, I'd assume it's something similar.
Is the sound quality better or worse than Bose NC 700's. Because I love it's sound quality over Sony's XM3 & 4's.

I own the xm4. I think the metal band when the headphones are extended should have been kept or what do you guys think? Just to expand a little why is that; the metal part prevents users from the possible accidental breakage and you don't hear any creaks.
If they had kept the foldable element, it would be much easier and more spacious to be able to put the headphones in the bag without always using the case because sometimes you may not always have the room (depending on the bag you use or the purpose) to conveniently put the case in the bag because the case could take up more room sometimes which I found highly convenient. Maybe you all did too.
@@daraakinsooto7247 there’s a reason why they kept the xm4 line instead of discontinuing it. The xm5’s lack nfc foldable design but they have better anc better mic slightly better sound and more comfort from what i can tell. Not worth upgrading but would choose xm5’s if i had to buy new.

I also watch a different tech review video and it said that people complained about the hinges of the xm4 band snapping, did you or anyone else experience the same problem for me I did because I take care of them like there my child (no I don't have kids by the way, haha) I always clean them after use, same with any audio tech I purchase.
@@daraakinsooto7247 I have the XM3s that I bought in 2018 and my bands haven't snapped. They definitely creek but it's not something that's a detriment to the experience. I did unfortunately drop them on a tile floor and the band broke that way but it's certainly not a defect of manufacturing. I taped it up and I still use it.
Saw that the XM5s were on sale by distributor on eBay and picked them up. XM3s will turn into my gym headphones and the XM5s will be used around the house and for travel.
I can’t wait to use them and see how good they are from The Airpod Max

In Norway the price difference between the Airpods Max and these are practically none existent as for some reason here the WH-1000xm5's are launching at just over $500.

I have wh 1000 xm5s amd i have also used airpods max and i can definitely say i don't regret my decision. These are my best 500 dollars investment.

I like it but it doesn’t satisfy me with the volume part my qc45 are better in volume but these are a bit better in noise cancelling and sound quality I just wished they would’ve kept the 40mm speakers in it

I don’t get it. You have the apple headphones too. Why not compare the two with 1. Music quality and 2. Noise cancellation between the two.

I just got them. The noise cancellation seems really disappointing. Its more silent when its on ambient noise level 10. Any fix for this?

Now that you can get AirPods Max for $449 (e.g. Amazon), how does that recommendation change, if at all, with the XM5’s?
Have an iphone? Get the Airpods, have an Android? Get the Sony's. LDAC only works on Android and the Airpods have iPhone only features as well...

AirPods max £429 in the UK these new Sony £399 - the Sonys look like you could knock someone over while wearing due to sticking out so much where the AirPods max look much cleaner and sleek
Just bought a pair of these and hope they work as u say they do. i work over nights and NEED to listen to music and my ears start to hurt after a few hours wearing my airpods pro. i also love that u say the mic quality for calls is good because when i call people on my AirPod’s they always say im muffled or they cant hear me to i have to change to wired headphones which doesnt help me when i am working. i am a over night staking associate so having wired headphones are always in the way or getting tugged in
So if we dont care about money in buying these two. Which would be the more recommended? ( Dont care about the mic when i often chat more then calling ) Or more like how mutch better anc and audio is it and how big difference it actually is. I often dont really find that answer in these kinds of reviewe/compare videos. And in the standpoint right now i need to decide between a pair of xm4 for 250$ and xm5 for 319$.

Picked the silver ones.. They dont look as smudgy as the black ones do.. :) replaced the Bose 700 for me.
And according to the manual the earcups are changeable, although not as convenient as the Airpods Max ones.
Definitely keep my XM4 over new one! Better design, foldable and smaller durable case.

I have the three XB910N, XM4, and the 5's. Definetly I'd pick up XM4 and 4. 5 have the best NC ever, but the former have better design and head band.

It was only allowed to be released at noon eastern time.
Tried XM5's for two days and returned them, went back to XM4. New ones have auto NC optimizer which still hasn't been fixed. XM4 the best headphones because you choose how much NC you want and it stays like that. XM5's not recommended!
Which would you say you like better xm3's or 4's, and why?? I'm an old geezer not tech smart, but I'm trying to figure out which ones out of all these to buy just for listening to music while lifting weights. Calls are not important. But sound quality, loudness, easy to connect to my Android galaxy 11 is important. Anybody????
