Keep in mind, that the changes you make to the user interface only affects that particular application, in this case modeling. When you switch the application to say sheet metal, the UI changes and the buttons that were on the left side, or wherever are not there any more. My tip: create menus, groups or even you own tab, that is alwasy shown. You can also pull in groups and menus much easier and quicker than single buttons of course. I am totally digging the customization possibilities. This was all introduced in NX9, but still a great video showing the interface customization. Keep it up!
