As a student who rode internationals I will say the windows always stayed falling down and my bus driver will have to double tape the window close I believe she had to do like 4 or 7 windows in the front 😂
I used to ride a 2013 ICCE, which is now being used as a spare, and most of the windows are crooked. Theres even the front window that is held up with tape because it broke 😂
Moms Districts ICs (all spares, ranging from a 2010 to im pretty sure 2016s) all have 50 gallon tanks. The C2s (all routes, from 2018 - 2023s) all have 100 gallon tanks that sit on the rear axles. Mom has a '19 and said she prefers it because it puts weight on the rear axle, and she doesnt have to bring her bus to the garage to fill up more often (she keeps the bus at her house). Despite the fact it leaked like there was no tomorrow, has no power when going uphill, and is governed at 69 mph, she prefers it, she has roughly 75k miles on her 2019 bus.
@LMDProductionsOfficial right, what makes it better is that she has a pretty long out of town route with some dirt roads, so (especially in the winter and the wet seasons) she had a lot more traction with the fuel tank sitting right on her axles. A vast improvement from her first bus, which was an 00 Blue Bird 3800. She went through two of them before 38. She's had to drive a couple CEs (personal favorite was old 2 (05 CE) because it had airhorns) but says she prefers her halfway lemon of 38.
It is true that blue birds never had straight windows - my mom was a manager of a department for a disability services company and the windows were a constant issues.
25:26 my uncles tree company has an IC as a chip truck. The seatbelts are shot so we never use them. I was ridin with my cousin to go dump a load of chips, we drove over some train tracks, i nearly got shot through the roof of the truck. I think International makes all their vehicles bounce like hell. Lol
Heya... Thanks for making these. It's nice to be able to hang out on the bus again after so many years away. I'd like to make a suggestion / ask for a favor though - for the understandably necessary jump cuts so that the innocent are not in the video: I am hoping you will use some scene transition templates or subtitle info to show that some arbetrary amount of time has elapsed. I got screwed up at least twice now... once right after you mentioned that you had no idea where you were supposed to be to do the pickup, and right now (I'm writing as I'm watching) at the dropoff. At the pickup, logic would make me think you were just going to the other side of the building or something, so it understably made me think that you went to the entirely wrong school when you started driving quite a distance - thinking oh no, did he go the enitrely wrong place entirely. Then, not seeing anyone at the second stop, I officially thought I was crazy. This was further compounded by my sudden conspiracy theory that there really wasn't a field trip today - you serapticiously just like driving 23 for fun when you can get away with it. I should have known! How could I have let this go right over my head an not figured it out earlier! It wasn't until I practiced my amatuerish TH-cam video sleuthing skills and went frame-by-frame at the drop off and noticed your phone suddenly appear at the windshield - completely debunking this unfounded off-my-rocker theory. 😉 So, yeah... not having any context that time had elapsed... I think you can see how that happened. Anyway, enough armchair quarterback jockeying over keyboard from me, lol. In conclusion, thanks again for the ride. For what it's worth, you're putting your area on the map, and in a good way - (meaning, I had only faintly heard of a place named Valdosta, I couldn't until this morning actually picked it out on a map even if offered tons of contest prize money.) People here in the Finger Lakes of New York are taking notice. 👍 It's nice to be around people whom are passionate about what they do and take pride in doing it well. C2's are cool, miss my time away from mine. Best wishes for 99's prompt, complete, and proper recovery.
This reminds me of a month or two ago bus 29 broke down and was out for almost 2 months because of a warranty issue (surprised me too) and we had spare bus 290 for half of that period and when the belt on 290 took its number we were all switched to spare bus 278 until we got 29 back. Well now the fricken wheel fell off 29 and is back in the shop and we’re back on 290 for god knows how long lol! Gotta love when a bus plans something interesting lol
Funny thing, my district is all IC’s and they’ve been ordering new busses recently, but they still stick us on old maxxforces instead of the new gassers for long trips. Luckily we’ve made it back every time so far!
@@christopher6635 back when our MaxxForces were the youngest trip buses we always spread the students out and took one or two more buses than necessary. One always died. Every time.
24:10 actually it won't, I've seen other videos of drivers kicking it down to 2 at any speed, and it knows when to kick down on its own, granted it kicks down at still a high RPM, but the transmission knows better to overrev the engine. That's at least the case with the Allison 2500, but I'm not sure about the 2000 (which 23 would have).
I ride in a 2017 Blue Bird Vision. And half the windows aren’t closed all the way, some have little cracks at the top and are unevenly closed. And it’s wintertime up here in Michigan so if it weren’t for the heaters the bus would be freezing.
