Good, I see a lot of people that flash their lights to warn drivers when they see patrol cars, my view is if your speeding excessively you deserve to get caught, including myself in that.
Whilst I agree that you can’t complain that you got caught when you break the law, the whole ‘blame speeders for everything wrong with road safety and every single crash’ attitude is criminal. For reference, over half of all motorists exceed the speed limit yet 93.4% of fatal accidents and 94.9% of all accidents do not even involve speeding as a contributory factor, let alone a causal one. Over 80% of the traffic offences that the police prosecute are for speeding though. That means the treasury earns FAR more money from people committing statistically the least dangerous offence you can commit in a car, than from those doing the things which are over ten times more likely to result in a fatal accident.
@@cj-sp8ed So the statistics on road accident causes are published every year by the Department For Transport, I would give you this year’s stats (the accident cause stats are for 2018) but they’ve moved to publishing everything in excel format, within a zip folder, which is absolutely fantastic to try and open on a phone. They don’t vary much year on year though. The DFT also publish the speed limit compliance data, as of 2019, 50% of the cars travelling on the motorway network exceeded the speed limit, increasing to higher percentages for lower speed limits, 54% for 30s and 86% on 20s. In 2017/18, 84% of UK traffic offences were for speeding. Taken from the Home Office’s Police powers and procedures end of year review.

I was not stopped or penalised in any way. BOZO in front of me and him kept to the 100 kph limit and could not get into the inner lane fast enough for the cops. THey have a buzzer sound which they activate on top of the usual high pitched siren which they used liberallly to get the unskilled driver out of the way.
