21:47 to 22:20 is absolute iconic behavior. You play the track, rip the guitar to shreds after nailing a solo, and then go "and uuuuh i didn't like any of that"
for real, I had my jaw dropped like wtf no way did he not have some that written out before hand, and then he just fucking deletes it all lmao even sounded like a perfect take.
Just a suggestion but you should make use of folder tracks in studio one! They're super great when you get big projects going just to keep things organized. Do it however you want though! Everyone's workflow is different I just find that it really helps me to focus on the music when things are more organized. Killer video like always C2!!!
Thanks Sithu! This was really insightful. Would you consider doing a similar video going into depth regarding your mixing and mastering process? As a metal guitarist/songwriter myself, I feel like that's the stage where I tend to give up (after having spent hours getting tracking). Cheers!
Ah , one of my favorite guitarist’s giving a demonstration! At last I will know his secrets! *watches Sithu mess up his own riff expecting a flawless one take* So he tracks exactly like I do ; _ ; (But much better of course)
Thanks! This is exactly what I hoped you'd one day post when I subscribed last year. Do you have any recommendations on where to learn how to set up the drums? Because I have no desire to blindly fuck around with all of those settings and mixer channels.
Glad to see you're still using GR5 to some extent. I still had some presets made by you on my GR from like 2013 before I had to format my pc earlier this summer.
Sithu have you ever used the drum editor in Studio one for writing drums? If not check it out. Your drum writing will speed up hugely. In the piano role midi editor on the top do you see that drum shell icon. Click on that.
I bought bias fx pro but my laptop isnt powerful enough to run it on more than one track, also cant play record with the fx on have to record dry then add the fx after. Which makes it difficult to know if u got the track down right cuz it obviously sounds different clean and dry vs whatever fx u wouldve been playin on.. what kind of computer would u recommend? How much ram, disc space etc? Laptop vs desktop? Please and thanks
Very cool man, Im a super lazy person so I really need start working on a template. My dream is to just sit down and record ideas besides just worrying about my unsuficient tone or other technnicalities. Your vid is inspiring!
Great video man, thanks for sharing. I also use Studio One and really enjoy it. I can identify with many repetitions to nail that perfect or close to perfect take, hehe.
Several Questions as a s1 user: 1. Why not use the D key to duplicate MIDI drums? 2. What's the advantage of having your L&R guitars in stereo when you're recording mono if you have two tracks panned?
I wasn't aware of the D feature, I'd have to try it out. Very used to just using copy paste though. As for stereo tracks, you need to have them set that way if you apply stereo effects on top of a mono recording.
This is very familiar, I'm also using Studio One 3. Puts a smile on my face :) However I've got a question.. How do u get Bias Amp to send stereo signal? I have to run 2 instances of bias amp 1 (left, right) because it only sends a mono signal. Is it fixed in Bias Amp 2? Guitar rig etc. work fine with one instance for stereo..
You honestly don't need a stereo signal, I only use a mono signal from my Axe-FX as well. Just make sure your track in your DAW is set to stereo for stereo effects like delay and reverb.
Hi how to you get that guitar sound from bias? I got the software but the distortion tones are horrible do you need more gear than the interface and the speakers to get a good sound? I've even tried different plug ins in demos and the outcome is the same.
On your lead tone, do you put the delay and reverb after your amp? In my case, I'm using free amp sims with impulse loader, so I suppose putting reverb and delay after the IR would line up with what you did here?
Dear Sithu! So, your guitar goes into your Focusrite, to the DAW with Positive Grid? You have an awesome tone. I also have a Focusrite 2i2 (Maybe you have the 2i4), and I'm not experiencing as great sound quality as you have (My guitar has a High end guitar pickup). Why is that? :D Maybe I'm doing something wrong!
Yo Sithu, Do you ever time align guitars or bass after recording or do you just get the best takes you can and call it good? Just curious since people approach this differently.
Everytime someone writes "Nick Acker" the real Nick Acker dies a little more inside. Also, Nick Acker Other than that yo Sithu didn't know you used Studio One, I kind of felt lonely while using it, glad to see there are great players who use it. Nick Acker
Question about presonus, How do I monitor through headphones or speakers while tracking? it seems to only monitor through my interface which doesn't grab the mix
Hey sithu! Just out of curiosity, why do you keep bias amp, and bias fx separate in a track, instead of having it on one workspace throughout, like activating the amp you created on bias amp into bias fx and build your pedal board on there instead of having 3 open VSTs? Does it benefit the sound and how? or is it just preference?
Any chance you'd do a video on mixing/mastering? I feel like I have good parts worked out but it always sounds like mud once I start stacking parts, even with using EQs and cuts and all that.
I think he doesn't really want to do videos on in-depth mixing and mastering because those are such vast subjects to talk about and mixing process varies so much from engineer to engineer. I suggest you just search TH-cam for mixing tutorials and also consider buying some of the Creative Live mixing classes (Nolly's class is frequently on sale for only $20)
I could honestly do a 20 minute video just on using EQ and compressors. Mixing is such a vast topic and I'm not sure if I want to commit to a video series on it.
I guess I'm a bit confused on how the tracking works, why have one track solely to record then drag it onto the actual track, why not just record on the actual track?
I do the same! Especially on Rhythm guitar. Plus I'm lazy so if I don't have to click more things than necessary (eg: arm-record/select every track each time, etc.) all the better!
anyone else see 'big tiddy goth gf' when sithu was searching at the beginning hahaha
miles janes hahaha
C'mon bruh, you should have timestamped it for us! LOL
Wow, it goes by fast but I think you're right! 00:57 - 00:58
It absolutely does say that! Muhahaha!
Sithu, bro, private browser time. haha
Should be the name of the song.
I like how everyones posting their workflow
thank you dad
"All's fair in love and recording."

Love youuu xoxoxo
i love you BOTH
21:47 to 22:20 is absolute iconic behavior. You play the track, rip the guitar to shreds after nailing a solo, and then go "and uuuuh i didn't like any of that"
"That tuner's not great." *Remembers they're sponsoring him* "Well, it's... usable."
For real though it runs with the framerate of a powerpoint presentation
Sithu Aye Better hope they don’t see this lol
22:18 "I didn't like any of that.. so I'm just gonna try again" I'd be jumping up and down if I just improvised that lmao
for real, I had my jaw dropped like wtf no way did he not have some that written out before hand, and then he just fucking deletes it all lmao even sounded like a perfect take.
Thanks for being so transparent, you have now spawned an army of animu metalheads \m/
That is the most slice of life click track I've ever heard
I record very similar to your way. This brought a smile to my face! Very cool and insightful video.
Love this type of video! Do more!
This is highly inspiring! Thank you for taking in consideration those of us who don't have hardware modelers. Love your approach and workflow.

Before I start the video...
Love your Eupho and K-On! posters ♥
thanks for letting us in on your process
It makes me happy when you upload a video, thanks :)
Really cool to see how you track. I’m wanting to get into recording my own music and this really informative. Thanks.
Thanks Sithu! This was really insightful. Would you consider doing a similar video going into depth regarding your mixing and mastering process? As a metal guitarist/songwriter myself, I feel like that's the stage where I tend to give up (after having spent hours getting tracking). Cheers!
"Delay is great. Your mistakes just get repeated over and over again"
*le me proceeds playing Post-Rock
Thank you Sithu
very cool
we share the same dragon energy
Gonna try to figure out that little riff later, so simple yet smooth.
This video is great. Thank you, Sithu!
super glad u posted this
I've been listening to you for years and I finally know how to pronounce Sithu Aye.
Ah , one of my favorite guitarist’s giving a demonstration! At last I will know his secrets!
*watches Sithu mess up his own riff expecting a flawless one take*
So he tracks exactly like I do ; _ ;
(But much better of course)
Thanks! This is exactly what I hoped you'd one day post when I subscribed last year. Do you have any recommendations on where to learn how to set up the drums? Because I have no desire to blindly fuck around with all of those settings and mixer channels.
You can open your amps designed in BIAS Amp 2 in FX if it's been updated within the last few months instead of loading both plugins.
Great video. And why not just load your custom amp in BIAS FX?That's more convenient to manage the pre/post pedals.
ABSOLUTELY SHAMELESSS !!!!!!!!
Nice to see you using Studio One
This was seriously cool! Sounds great
Glad to see you're still using GR5 to some extent. I still had some presets made by you on my GR from like 2013 before I had to format my pc earlier this summer.
You're amazing man! How can Bias Amp2 users find this tone in the ToneCloud? Is it still up? Thanks for any tips to aid my search!
Update: Found the proper search query in a dif vid, thanks! "Sithu BIAS AMP "
What a masterpiece
Nice insight into your process, very interesting. Thanks for that.
spotify played you today on my way home now iI' hooked
I used your preset to record a new song! It's so close to my own preset!
C2A here
Sithu have you ever used the drum editor in Studio one for writing drums? If not check it out. Your drum writing will speed up hugely. In the piano role midi editor on the top do you see that drum shell icon. Click on that.
I am glad I am not the only person who tracks a billion takes.
I bought bias fx pro but my laptop isnt powerful enough to run it on more than one track, also cant play record with the fx on have to record dry then add the fx after. Great video. I would love to see that half hour of mixing and mastering work in a 30 minute demonstration video such as this.
Nice sithu, that half hour master and mixing what process and plugins did you use?
Do you record your guitars at -12 db?
The amp you made in bias amp can be loaded in bias fx so you don’t have to have so many instances
Amazing!
ayesome as usual
Great video. Really would love to see what plugins and settings you are using for your mix.
Thank you so much for this, very insightful!! I enjoy your video content a lot, you're good on camera even though you are the human embodiment of vape
I track almost exactly the same way haha. I'm glad I'm doing things wildly incorrect. Thanks for the vid!
Very cool man, Im a super lazy person so I really need start working on a template. My dream is to just sit down and record ideas besides just worrying about my unsuficient tone or other technnicalities. Your vid is inspiring!
thanks for the video I love your music bro
Sithu, have you checked out 'drum mode' in the editor window of S1 v4? No more piano roll for drums!
Thanks! That was awesome
there s no coffee in that cup lol
Great video man, thanks for sharing. I also use Studio One and really enjoy it. I can identify with many repetitions to nail that perfect or close to perfect take, hehe.
Thanks for this!
Very cool, but I wish you had filmed the mixing and mastering process too
Really great video, I wanted to see a video like this... I always have doubts when something is not well recorded and I have copy and paste the audio
Great video, sempai
Hell yea man, thanks for the insight! S1 forever lol
Awesome video, can you do a drum programming video like this?
Wow, this really helped!
You are a god.

Moved on from Sony Acid I see ;)
btw cool anime posters
“All is fair in love and recording” lol word
Good stuff man. What plugins do you recommend for drum tracks ? Thanks

Depends on the part. If it needs to be super tight, I'll do more editing work.
Sounds good, thanks a lot for replying!!
Nick Acker incoming!
Everytime someone writes "Nick Acker" the real Nick Acker dies a little more inside. Also, Nick Acker
Other than that yo Sithu didn't know you used Studio One, I kind of felt lonely while using it, glad to see there are great players who use it.
Nick Acker

Thank you for this! What kind of computer power we talking here? Also seeing the drums setup like that and so quick was really great!
My PC has an i7 5930k clocked at 4GHz, 32GB of DDR4 3000MHz RAM, 2 GTX 980Ti's and I have all my music stuff stored on an SSD.
Question about presonus, How do I monitor through headphones or speakers while tracking? it seems to only monitor through my interface which doesn't grab the mix
Sithu Aye I was wondering why you just didn't use that amp sim in Bias FX because it will respond better and not use so much cpu?
:) Informative.
Sithu Aye check out the new version of Acid it is really pretty awesome.
What goes into your bass patch? I also use fractal but I haven't been able to make a bass patch that sounds as good as the one you were just using
Hey sithu! I may have missed it in the video, but are the rhythm guitars hard panned left and right with the lead straight down the middle?
Do you record the guitar straight into your interface or do you have a noise gate in between? Great video btw, very helpful!
The noise gate is in the plugin before any other pedals
Hi! How you turn down the tuning to get the bass sound
YEAH Studio One.
I noticed something. What is your input level on ur tracking and on your focusrite ?
Neko Hacker
Thanks for the in-depth info! Any reason you prefer not just loading your amp through Bias FX itself instead of having an amp instance open?
Didn't know you could do that! Doing another video for Positive Grid going over just that!
Which library do you use for SD2?
Any chance you'd do a video on mixing/mastering? I feel like I have good parts worked out but it always sounds like mud once I start stacking parts, even with using EQs and cuts and all that.

Am I the only one using the GM drum map? Why does everyone use the keyboard/piano layout?
I see the rubber band!!
Direct feed probably better for sound comparisons :D
I guess I'm a bit confused on how the tracking works, why have one track solely to record then drag it onto the actual track, why not just record on the actual track?
Force of habit when I used to track on a laptop with a VST. I also don't like hearing my tracks panned when recording.
I do the same! Especially on Rhythm guitar. Plus I'm lazy so if I don't have to click more things than necessary (eg: arm-record/select every track each time, etc.) all the better!
is it worth it to get bias amp i already have bias fx elite?
26:00 , how to use guitar play bass sounds?
what's the VST name 。。。
