We used to make this with my grandma all the time (Mediterranean) - only I had no idea it's called shakshuka and we don't make a sauce specifically for it, we use left over sauce from the previous day like a caponata or any tomato based sauce. 😊
We make it in Palestine and the levant in general - again slightly different as my mom cut tomato into big rings and just lets them melt rather than sauce them out. Delish!

Respectfully they are not the same. Shakshuka is made with red peppers while Menemen is made with green peppers. The eggs are poached in Shakshuka pepper sauce while with Menemen the eggs are incorporated into the entire dish. Both are incredibly delicious dishes to enjoy. You can't go wrong with either one. Hope to visit Türkey in the future to enjoy an authentic proper breakfast.
De eso nada el menemen esta todo revuelto parece un vomito 🤮 y lo sé muy bienporqueestuvecasada con un turco. Nada que ver con nuestro schakschuka. 🇲🇦🇲🇦😋😋
To anyone who says it's not Shakshuka - it is. It is a Tunisian and Algerian dish (you can also find it in Libya and Morocco, North Africa for short) originally and today it is also a well-known Israeli dish, which consists of eggs that are cooked *whole in a hot tomato sauce* and eaten hot. the name comes from Amazigh (Berber) language and it is a word that means mixture. You are not supposed to scramble the eggs in the sauce like many people here say when you cook, but eat them like an Sunny side up and you can use fresh or canned tomatoes and eat it hot! You can eat it cold, but it's less fun, and usually everyone eats cooperatively from the pan and the amount of eggs is equal to the amount of people eating so everyone gets an egg. Just because you know it by a different name or a different preparation or eating method does not mean it is not Shakshuka.
It is a Turkish dish actually. Because all those countries were under the realm of the Ottoman Empire for hundreds of years, so it is quite understandable that there were some cultural exchange and now there are variations of these dishes around.
Man you know she's not leaving him, last time she tried she got to the end of the walkway and her stomach started growling furiously and she started hallucinating about BLT's with shakshuka with him being a magic chef genie in a bottle and quickly turned around and ran back into the house.
Definitely he live to the fullest🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. I can see he did enjoy his moment when cooking. Always the food look delicious and the way he served really fantastic🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi everyone. I really like everything about this chef. Well I think he is one. I just want to say something. This dish is of Arabic origin and its original Arabic name is " Chek'chouka ". The first sound from " ch" is pronounced " tsh" like in English "chalk " or "teacher". As for the "k" it is pronounced "k" like in English. Going back to the dish. In Arab countries we don't cut the oinions and tomatoes that small. We also can add zucchini and green peppers. The people who like it hot can add jalapenos. We don't use tomato paste but we use just the red and ripe tomatoes. We don't spice it a lot also. We use just a little black pepper and cayenne pepper. We mostly consider it a summer dish and serve it with two salads. A potato salad and a cucumber salad. In the cucumber salad, we add tomatoes and onions.

Ain't the guy a professional Chef, be pretty poor if he had no skills.
For making shakshuka? A dish I’ve been able to make since I was about 10?
