Thank you Steam for introducing me to my now hands down favorite motor sport. Summer Sale -> Dirt Rally (2015) -> Random Rally vids on youtube -> Launch Control -> Catching up on IRL races; in like three days. This is so cool. Congrats to the winner of the race, that joker was a marvel to behold. TBH I still only get about 10% of the actual race-craft here, but the little I do fully get is breathtaking.
I wish I understood why these cars are quicker going sideways (on tarmac) than they would be driving a “normal” line. For instance, Oliver Solberg had a brilliantly exuberant run up Goodwood in a RX car a few days ago, throwing the car sideways into every corner, and he posted a really fast time. Then a couple of days after that, Petter Solberg drove a RX car up Goodwood, but kept it in the grip and limited the sideways action as much as possible... and he was over a second quicker as a result. So what makes THESE RX cars quicker on tarmac when they’re sideways? Is it the setup, because they have to be pretty soft for the dirt sections? I’m genuinely curious, if anyone has the answer
That joker from Larsson was amazing
Larsson should be in World RX. what a driver he is
