    I want to hug this guy. This video is such a blessing. I was totally stumped on getting the last panel off to expose the blower motor housing. He saved me a lot of money and a huge headache. Thank you Wheel and Motor guy!

    Audi engineers are great puting fan in those tiny space where battery was in previous generations of A6... Older A6 (C5) have fan inside cabin and you need 15 min to replace it but this is almost nightmare to do, it took me 3 hours with your helping great video, otherwise it will take much longer.

      WheelsAndMotors Hi! First, thanks for your prompt reply! I reviewed these 2 videos and they gave me useful insight into the issue at hand. I am still unable to pinpoint the exact root cause for the leak into the interior compartment. I've already cleared the drainage canals and water drains away from the blower box area. However, I discovered that the ECU box has a crack at the bottom (due to LPG installation) and it is possible that water gets inside and from there into the interior. I will replace the cracked box tomorrow and hopefully the issue will disappear.
      For the record, I fixed the A/C and heating system. I tested if the blower can rotate by hand and then applied electrical current directly from the battery to ensure it can spin. The issue was due to a non-factory faulty wire which caused short circuit of the electrical system.
      Anyway, your video tutorial was very useful for which you have my thanks!

    Great video there
    1$ fix for this problem please read:
    i had some problems with my blower it went sometimes off if the weather is too hot..
    after some inspections we found out that the blower motor brushes srpings were very old the brushes were in tact so we changed the springs only and the problem is gone now.. so you dont have to change the whole motor for this kind of problem..
    just a 1$ fix...
    Dealer asked 700€ to change the blowing motor..

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I replaced my motor (bought another one from scrapyard for 60-70 pounds), I also tried to fix the one that's faulty. Brushes were worn out and one of them was even hanging awkwardly on a spring. But I had a problem with getting to those brushes. The motor seemed to be closed unit and there were no obvious ways how to disassemble it. I'm not professional, so I took it to some electricians - they said that it's not meant to be taken apart and it's cheaper to buy another one. I don't know - maybe they were also not very professional. If you know how to do it - you can make a good TH-cam video out of it :)

      All heated bits that you mentioned are heated by electricity, not coolant or hot air, so I think you should look for electrical fault solution.. start with fuses. Unfortunately, I don't have that car anymore, but you can have a look in owners manual (normally kept in glovebox), they have list of fuses at the end of that book.

    Hi. Very good demonstration. Very helpful. Do u have the part number by any chance ?? And another thing , there is any way the controller can go wrong?? Mine is going only from time to time and specially starts when I'm getting speed on motorway. Thanks anyway

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Part number can be 4F0820521A, but I can't guarantee, sorry. When I search eBay for this number - some listings come up with motor and control unit, some with just a control unit, .. Audi dealerships don't like to give out part numbers.
      I would look for 'blower motor Audi A6 2005-2011', if I'm not mistaken they are all the same for all engines of C6 chassis.
      When my motor died, it also didn't die suddenly - brushes were wearing out - if I 'whacked' it started again :)
      My advice would be - if you are getting in there - replace it all. By the way, when I replaced my motor, I took it apart and tried to find someone, to fix brushes - it appeared to be sealed unit - non-fixable.
      Here's post about blower motor at my website:

    Great video... I wonder if I need to replace mine or if it can be salvaged. It started making a lot of noise today [jet engine style lol] when blowing at 9 or 10 fan speed, there's vibration as well. When I turn it on lower speed, the noise lets up a bit. It still puts out cold air but there's clearly something wrong... Mine's an 05 Audi A6 Quattro... Oyster Gray Metallic. :)

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried to repair (or someone who can repair) that blower motor and it appeared to be non-repairable closed unit, I mean the motor. Of course nothing is impossible :) But it would more economically reasonable to get working unit from scrapyard or get new one. By the way, do you change pollen filter regularly? Because it can affect motor if it's too clogged up.

    Hi Great Video,
    I have a problem with that no air is blowing at all into the Cupé and it started with that AC was not cooling and then suddenly no air flow came at all, could the Airblower motor be the issue for theese two problems you think?

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steve Bergholtz If AC is not cooling and you can't turn ECON off, more likely it just needs re-gasing, if ECON goes off - could be compressor problem. Regarding not blowing at all - either blower motor died, or before check the fuse (have a look in drivers manual), I don't have that anymore, so I couldn't point you...

      +David Babs Could be a unit that's responsible for deflecting air flow in different areas. Unfortunately, I don't have experience with that yet. I would recommend to find specialist with VAG-COM (VCDS) to scan it and find where the problem is.

I took my glove box off and everything that was in my way so i could get to my blower motor. But when i did this i started getting a parking break malfunction alarm that come on. I put everything back after repairing my blowing motor and it is working great, but i still have the parking break malfunction alarming coming on. I tested it and my parking break works just fine. Any idea how to reset this fault?

The part number can be 4F0820521A, but I can't guarantee, sorry. When I search eBay for this number - some listings come up with motor and control unit, some with just a control unit, .. Audi dealerships don't like to give out part numbers. You can also try to ring TPS - trade part specialists, they probably won't give part number either, but at least maybe they can confirm that it's the same motor for whole range of A6.

      Ops.. Never had problem with wipers, despite that car has done 409.000 miles eventually.. don't even know what to suggest. I know that wipers won't go on, when bonnet is open.. Could you damage some wire while doing blower motor? Just had a look in manual, wiper motor is quite easy to get to. You still need to remove that scuttle panel trim. For some reason my manual shows only left hand drive car, where unit is located above screen wash filling cup. For right hand drive cars it's on the other side. Held by 3 bolts.. Never done it myself, and that car was gone about 3 years ago, so apart from "check for damage" can't help much, sorry :(

      Hi Julio, most likely it should solve your problem. Of course, you can find someone with some clever scanner, to diagnose that the fault is exactly in blower motor to know for sure.. I think that if if the air is not blowing 99% it would be blower motor fault.

      @@xBooMzHeadShotx I had few VAG cars where blower motor died. Sometimes they make noise for a while before they go, sometimes they stop out of nothing, then go, then stop.
      I think 140k is about time for blower to die. Think about it - it's an electric motor that constantly working, and it has brushes.
      Whole unit is not that expensive actually. I don't have that car for about 5 years, I drive Sharan now, which is still VAG. And just yesterday I bought spare blower for £80 on eBay. You can have a look in Autodoc or Euro Car Parts, or GSF.
      Not sure which country you live in.
      Main dealers and TPS charge ridiculous price for it - with this unit don't see reason to pay that, it's just a stupid ventilator motor.

      +NastyMosquito I had very hot air no matter AC (Econ) was on or off. I'm pretty sure it's the valves problem - if cleaning doesn't help - maybe it's a faulty unit (control valves). Of course there could be tiny chance of faulty climate control buttons, but, IMAO - more likely bad valves.

      If the pressure in AC system is no good, then compressor won't start. I had same problem. In those garages, where they re-charge AC, they can also check if there are any leaks in the system. If it's just a pressure, then re-charge is easy solution. If ECON can go on and off, but compressor still doesn't start, then likely there's a problem with compressor.
