People bash Bungie constantly over how they let Destiny turn out, but this game in particular, to me, is proof positive that it was Activision that screwed the pooch on Destiny Year One. The quality of Taken King/Year Two shows what Bungie can do when they're tasked with fixing the problems and bad reception.
Destiny feels like it's one of those free-to-play games though. If it had free subscription with paid DLC, then it would be great, but it's not. And that's a big problem.

The alien ship with all their "Comunications" equipment, and we can infer thier negotiatiors, translators and linguists aboard, was destroyed. That's why they didn't talk to the humans.
The only movie or TV licensed game I have ever seen or played in my entire life that wasn't absolutely terrible is a game for the Nintendo Gamecube called Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights. This game feels like it was made in 2001, but with 2004 graphics. Hell, even the three Transformers movie licensed games are better, especially ROTF. Seriously, try it out! No, they aren't the best Transformers games of all time, but as movie licenses, they aren't bad! Even the little DLC's that ROTF had are neat. (Though they are limited to use, which is a shame)

In the past, I have always heard that this game was bad and I wanted to know why. When I saw this review, I figured it out. I'm just glad that I never got this game when it came out. maybe in recent years, there were some great movie licensed games for the gamecube though, like Over the Hedge. GamingReviews The Wii version is an actual RTS game. Which bags the question, WHY WASN'T THE WII VERSION THE SAME GAME FOR THE XBOX AND PLAYSTATION VERSIONS.
Because Activision made a deal with Nintendo to sell the good version on the Wii, and the shit version on the PS3 and 360. They did the exact same thing with Iron Man BTW.

you know what wouldve made this game good; if they took the original Battleship game, made it digitally, and made it HD, sell it to all platforms for a rather cheap price, and add in a few new modes if they were feeling creative. THAT wouldve been much better than this'

movie-licensed games that are good are pretty hard to come across, since the developers who are hired to make them aren't passionate about the project, and even if they were their budget probably wouldn't let them make anything worthwhile

This game feels like it was made in 2001, but with 2004 graphics. Hell, even the three Transformers movie licensed games are better, especially ROTF. Seriously, try it out! No, they aren't the best Transformers games of all time, but as movie licenses, they aren't bad! Even the little DLC's that ROTF had are neat. (Though they are limited to use, which is a shame)

In the past, I have always heard that this game was bad and I wanted to know why. When I saw this review, I figured it out. I'm just glad that I never got this game when it came out. I'm lucky that I play RPG's these days, because I most definitely want to stay away from movie licensed games from now on.

maybe in recent years, there were some great movie licensed games for the gamecube though, like Over the Hedge. Game quality really got unreliable last generation, with publishers downright abusing the wii and exploiting dlc and drm to the max. Its gonna keep getting worse until 1983 repeats itself. Maybe this time these dumbass companies will actually learn from it.

"battleship" isn't just a board game, I remember playing it back when I was young- we simply used sheets of paper and drew the fields of "your" and "enemy" fleets, those were great times and even that way to play this game is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better, then to play that piece of f***ing shit video game or watch that "ball sucking" movie
