So a lot of comments don’t know. In places where lions are kept alone the can get lonely and sad and sometimes die from the effects caused. So in some zoos they raise them with dogs so they have a friend and are mentally healthier. Look into it.

Actually it turns out you're more right than you know. Unlike most cat species lions are social group oriented in prides. Solitary lions in sanctuaries often get super depressed so many times dogs are put in to give them company.
