Following a series of concept photos and teasers, Blackpink were reported saying, "as it is our debut mini-album and comeback after one year, we prepared each song with a lot of sincerity and affection." Additionally, member Jennie commented, "I am confident and I look forward to our comeback. I am happy to be able to express the musicality of Blackpink in various ways."

Eh, it's pretty normal, I'd assume it's the same thing for each country's pop music. People like it when they're young and then you get bored of it or develop your own musical taste.
Maybe it looks good to you because it's something fresh and new but they grew up with Kpop all around.
Another aspect is that at the end of the day music is only a small part of the experience of the idol entertainment thing, so if you don't care for the fan service stuff there's no reason to get into it.
Basically look at it like this, rest of the world who likes U.S Pop, like Britney Spears etc... but since when did the majority of the U.S like her ?
It's just another genre in South Korea basically. Like Nsyn and Backstreet Boys were huge but not the Majority likes listening to boybands.
Well that's how I see it anyway, I already knew it wasn't a genre loves by most Koreans, I look like a Koreaboo when they ask me which artist I know and they are all Kpop idols 😂

I keep seeing comments that the reaction is boring. Should they have flipped? Bboy'd or something? They're prolly not bandwagoners thus the reaction. Some of you might have gotten used to the bandwagon reaction of excessive screaming, gasping, etc. :/ Just be thankful they did a reaction to bp. You might say bp don't need it or whatnot, but with the 40k followers they have, this is still exposure.
Just like how bad publicity is still publicity, a single view is still an exposure. If you look at the channel, they're not like other channels who do regular reaction to kpop mvs. I am not saying they contributed to BP's fame, but you are not sure if the 40k people who follow this channel really do watch kpop/know kpop. What I found annoying is the complain about how boring the vid is when these viewers have the choice to not continue watching it anyway. Why do you have to be disrespectful about something you're not even forced to pay attention to? Yes, calling the video boring is disrespectful. It's the commenters opinion, yes. Just like how I posted my opinion. If you read my comment, there is no single word there that underestimated BP. I know their cap. I know their fame.
