This is a major loss for Rainbow PUSH. Pastor Haynes brought new energy to the organization. We just saw him speaking at Tenn State University. I respect Rev Jackson. I used to attend the Saturday workshops years ago but this organization will be nonexistent if major changes are not made.

It ain't the Old Guard that needs removing. The organization was thought up by a shill for "keep the Blkppl calm and quiet" racists. Jackson got personal financial president checks to the tune of millions to do that, to help hold us back - which is why Obama ignored him for 8 years. He already knew Jackson was a whiteman shill on a King Jr. Fraud Replacement bill.

They did not provide mentorship to the next group and held onto their leadership roles until forced to retire. This left a hole in transition. I think we need a real conversation about aging. Some of the older generation have problems with letting go and allowing the next group to lead. Just my observations

27:45 Yeah. That’s one of those pillars of Servant Leadership!! Leave it better than you found it,right. That’s the easy part. But the problem with black organizations is, the leaders of many organizations hate to see someone coming with the potential to make it better than they can. So they allow those people to better the organization, UNTIL, they feel like they’ve gotten what they want, and then they 💩 on the hard work of others, thereby STUNTING THE GROWTH AND POTENTIAL OF THE ORGANIZATION.

The "S" word in the black church and connected organization is succession. Black preachers stay on forever and then don't completely relinquish power when they "leave." It's not about the mission, it's about the ego. Change or die is the law of the universe. These elder pastors want to defy that law.

This is a wake up call for evey one. Unfortunately, this is the way business and family assets fall in disarray. There is no preparation and/or planning for transition of people (founders) . Supreme court is another example.

Thank you for talking about this as I live in DFW and Dr Frederick Haynes is outstanding speaker and Pastor and when he stepped down I was like something not right and Pastor said I'm outa here. They lost a good one. Pastor Frederick stated he was not going to leave Dallas.

Well said Roland. If Rainbow Push wants to stay relevant, new leadership has to take over and they have to be given the power and authority to make decisions. Rev Dr. Haynes is not a yes man and speaks his mind. He is a civil rights leader and social activist in his own right and can start his own organization.

We have the same problem here in the Caribbean with embracing change and succession planning. I thought it was because we're small and inward looking. I'm actually dealing with a situation like this right now where all the old leadership is aging out and they justwon'tt let go. Seriously contemplating having this conversation right here word for word with them. Thanks Roland Martin...

Amazing analysis 👏 Roland. All fair questions, and yes, it truly is sad and gives the impression that we can't even handle our own business. The answer to me is very clear: they don't want anyone to monitor their business aspect of the business, meaning the financial endeavors. They want either a yes man or nothing. The family doesn't want to get their hands dirty.
