इसका इतिहास बहुत ही रोचक है। मुग़लो के शासन में भारत पर 1556 से 1605 तक अकबर महान के समय पूरा बुंदेलखंड इलाहबाद सूबे के अधीन था और इलाहबाद सूबे के सूबेदार शहजादा सलीम थे जहाँ सलीम अपनी मनमानी किया करते थे और सम्राट के प्रति बगावती तेवर अपनाये रहते थे चूंकि शहजादा सलीम की उडदण्ड और उच्चश्रृंखल आदतों के कारण सम्राट अकबर उनसे नाराज़ रहा करते थे और एक बार तो सम्राट ने ये भी सोच लिया था कि अपना वारिस सलीम के बजाय शहजादा खुशरो ( सलीम का सबसे बड़ा पुत्र ) को बनायेगें। सलीम के चमचों ने सलीम के कान भरे ये कहकर की अबुल फज़ल की की उलटी सीधी सलाह के कारण ही उनके पिता शहंशाह अकबर उनसे नाराज़ रहते हैं इसलिए अबुल फ़ज़ल को ठिकाने लगाना बहुत ज़रूरी है। सन 1603 में चापलूस सलाहकारों की बातों में आकर सलीम ने अपने अधीन एक बुंदेला सरदार वीर सिंह बुंदेला को आदेश दिया कि अबुल फ़ज़ल अपने बंगाल दौरे से राजधानी आगरा वापस लौट रहे हैं इसलिए उन्हें ठिकाने लगा दिया जाये। और जब अबुल फ़ज़ल वापसी पर ग्वालियर से होकर गुजर रहे थे बीर सिंह बुंदेला ने घात लगाकर अबुल फ़ज़ल का क़त्ल कर दिया और अबुल फ़ज़ल का सिर लेकर इलाहबाद सलीम के दरबार में हाजिर होकर अपनी वफादारी जाहिर की। चूंकि अबुल फ़ज़ल एक दरबारी नव रत्न ही नहीं थे बल्कि सम्राट के सलाहकार और मित्र भी थे, अबुल फ़ज़ल के मौत के सदमे से शहंशाह अकबर बीमार पड़ गए और 1605 में उनकी मृत्यु हो गयी तब शहजादा सलीम, जहांगीर के नाम से भारत के सम्राट बने और अपने वफादार वीर सिंह बुंदेला को पूरे बुंदेलखंड का राजा बना दिया और राजा वीर सिंह बुंदेला ने ओरछा को अपनी राजधानी बनाया। वीर सिंह बुंदेला ने शहंशाह जहांगीर के सम्मान में और उनकी मेहमान नवाजी करने की नीयत से ओरछा में ये जहाँगीर महल बनवाया था। सम्राट ओरछा आये भी और उसी जहांगीर महल में ठहरे भी। ये है असली कहानी इस जहांगीर महल की जिसे यहाँ के गाइड गलत तरीके से बताते हैं।

The people took pride in associating themselves with the tyrant conqueror, os called themselves moguls/mughals (mongols), also the surname KHAN is borrowed, there was no khan surname in Muslims, the people who got converted (for rice bowls or fear of death) became later khans to as they grew in power, so they could call themselves of higher birth. If you need more lessons, read the real history and research more on what you read, before commenting.
This mahal was only build by a great warrior Rudra pratap singh bundela rajput belongs to bundelas rajputs king during 1520 and raja birsingh dev bundela during 1605 killed commander abdul fazl of mugals salims army. After this incident a retaliation action mshal of bundelas was captured by salim during 1615 ... and orchha fort ruined by mugal forces completely..... Hence plz do not share wrong history..of bundelas warrior rajput kings 🙏🙏
