Am currently dating a Swahili guy...and now am learning Swahili and honestly its a nice language and i enjoy these basics because i will know how to greet him and start a conversation with his language...he enjoys when i chat with him in his language...thanks for this!
Hi Mandy. That's so nice to hear. Wish you both lots of happiness together and we are glad that we can contribute in a small way to bring you two closer together :)
Spoken Swahili..I am more happy and it does bring us more closer because to me its something new...and step by step i love this coz it shows even images so that i can relate to the understanding of the language!
Hello Lion, we had to use white animation because at the time of creation, when we were looking for character packs, it was very hard to find a comprehensive collection of black characters that was within our budget. Thanks for watching and taking the time to respond.
Hello Heena ... thank you. This is just a preview for the course we sell on Udemy - it has 13 lessons including this one. You can sign up for it here: www.udemy.com/introduction-to-spoken-swahili/?couponCode=swaintrosignup20
I'm literally SHOOK. I didn't know that in Swahili, we say Hodi and Karibu after. I'm comorian and we say the same thing. I know that Comorian language (all its dialects since it's 4 islands ) is considered like a part of Swahili language but I didn't know that part of greetings was the same. In my island (Anjouan/Ndzuani), before coming in a house, we say " Hodi" and after people say Karibu (welcome) or Hodina or Na mu karibuni (welcome all). After all, we have the same culture or actually partially :-)

How are you all doing? Habari za asubuhi? Good morning (literally means news of the morning) Habari za mchana? Good afternoon (literally means news of the afternoon) Habari za jioni? Thank you! Very nice helpful video. For me as a german very funny because the suaheli words favor german swear words and funny statements. "Kaka" for example is used when you ask a child. Do you have "Kaka" in your pands. 😰😜

Kenya and Tanzania speak the same standardized Swahili dialect called Kiunguja. There is a slight difference in accents here and there in various degrees depending o geographical regions. However, Congo (DRC) speak the Kingwana dialect while in the Comoros they speak the Shikomori dialect.
@LadyFaith L It's the same standard Swahili taught and spoken in East Africa. There might be different accents here and there due to geographical reasons.
Hello Juehl. When we made these lessons 5 years ago, it was very difficult to find african characters with the range of positions and emotions that we needed for these videos. So we had to settle for what was available and within budget at that time. We were unable to commission custom characters due to the cost involved.

Habari Yako is informal, while Habari Zako is formal.

Yes .. that is correct.

I want to if it's a tanzanian swahili or keyan?
It's Kenyan, but this is a lesson in very basic Swahili so it should apply to both.

Hi
Waw napedq masomo sqna
Brother,
but why do you have to use Asian cartoons ????
Swahili is African Bantu language,
it makes more sense to use African cartoons...
Hello Alisho. I agree, but at the time we made this, it was very difficult to find African cartoons so we had to use the ones we could find.
Am asking the same question... it's like most black people feel its less honorable to use their own color people.
Why are they EUROPEAN ?
Hi Pharaoh. We know it's not ideal, but at the time we created this, it was very difficult to find graphic packs with African characters.
@@SpokenSwahili understood thank you
Very useful, but I wish the illustrations showed Africans and Indians
Thank you, Saraswathy. We know it's not ideal, but at the time we created this, it was very difficult to find graphic packs with African characters.
WHOSE THE MEN AND WOMEN CARTOON PEOPLE. ARE THEY AFRICAN?
No .. unfortunately we couldn't find African cartoons when we were making the videos.
Ça ressemble à la langue mahoraise
This Swahili are all different from every country this is confusing
LadyFaith L you have to follow Tanzanian Swahili, cos is where a language born
Follow the Kamusi its equivalent to the Oxford Dictionary..many mix with their local dialects even Tanzanians..you can never go wrong with the Kamusi

Thank you
