Personally I like this tempo - makes it so "Mendelssohn" especially in the orchestral writing.

Tipp: einfach auf 0,75-facher Geschwindigkeit hören- dann ist es echt schön :)

The opening chorus seems quicker than other interpretations on TH-cam, but the pace for the rest of the piece is fine. Some interpretations of this chorus on TH-cam drag it out to around six minutes or more, which is much too slow. I'd rather have a little zip when I listen to classical compositions than for them be as slow as molasses.

Für mich ist diese Weihnachtskantate eines der schönsten Stücke von FMB. Leider ist diese Aufführung mit wenig Kontrast, dafür aber viel zu schnell aufgeführt.
