I'm glad you're not shy to eat infront of the camera cause you make everything look scrumptious!!
13:31 sounds like someone is up there with you, and laughing at you when you spoke about not knowing how to go down the ladder
Yes I heard that too!
I had to remind it but I think your right. Or it was an animal noise
@@thegagaboucheNever Forget guys that the Deep water Horizon Explosion Pumped Oil Non Stop for 88 Days and Night's. Truly a Huuuge disaster. The news and media didnt talk to much about it back then but it was Over 134 Million Gallons of Oil.
I live in Pascagoula/Gautier. That would be a seagull "laugh" lmao
Aww! Gulf Shores, OBA, Elberta, Foley, and Josephine are were my family spent summers and spring breaks for decades! So much change, but so many memories!
Yum! Liver and onions. Another great video! Roadside attractions with you Jacob are so fun!
Jacob knowledge about places in US is just amazing 😭, i want jacob as my tourist guide if i go to the US. if not i don't want it 😂. Anyway your safety more important than this road trip, seing you driving in the snow is scary and i rather seing you going somewhere safe 😊❤
Another great video of interesting sites and stories. Doesn't matter that the Choose My Adventure Derailed, I am still enjoying it all!
Jacob, If you ever herard Ray Stevens, "Mississippi Squirrel Revival," it was about the "First Self-Righteous Church" in Pascagoula, Mississippi! Before that bear was Stoney, he was Rooty, "The Great American Root Bear" for A & W Root Beer
My wife and I are both residents of the MS Gulf Coast and have been watching your videos for a few years. Just wanted to say thank you for coming through our area and showing us off a bit. Safe travels!
Fav channel hands down
Mark Kline! The Mad Genius! He is so creative. Love seeing his work! ❤❤❤ Be careful out there Carpetbagger!
Welcome to the gulf coast!!
The big glass thing in the lighthouse is a Fresnel lens. 🙂
Really enjoyed this video Jacob
Hi Jacob and Jennifer 🙋🏾
The town of Pascagoula is mentioned in the Ray Stevens hit "The Mississippi Squirrel Revival"
Ha! Pascagoula native here! I've actually seen UFOs. One I saw right where those guys were abducted above the Pascagoula bridge, right above where you're standing in the intro. One I've never heard described anywhere else It was like a ring in the sky and it had four lights on it. It was also very low, like 100 ft above the bridge. It was also like 5:00 p.m. so it's still light outside. Me and my ex saw it. Very strange. I've also seen one up in lucedale. That one was one of the triangle crafts with the lights on the bottom. Anyway, thanks for stopping by! 😊
Lamberts looks delious
We enjoy you so much Jacob. Keep being you!
When I retired my life flashed before me and with it was a repressed memory of 45 years ago. It was an encounter with a craft hovering silently above some powerlines in a then rural area. I was about to write it off as a false memory when I decided to Google "ufo" and where it happened. I got a Twilight Zone shock to discover there was a newspaper article where three cops saw the same thing at the same exact spot approximately 7 years after mine. On top of that a friend who was with me and has no memory of it had his own bizarre encounter at that very spot in a blizzard when he was followed by something tall, hairy and with bright blue eyes. He ditched it by hiding behind a train depot in the blizzard.
Never Forget guys that the Deep water Horizon Explosion Pumped Oil Non Stop for 88 Days and Night's. Truly a Huuuge disaster. The news and media didnt talk to much about it back then but it was Over 134 Million Gallons of Oil.
Great job on the T Rex
Love how w these throw rolls
What a cute stegosaurus
Love the interesting stops. Maybe Jenn can join up with you in Florida to escape the cold weather.
Hello from Pensacola!! It's 25 degrees real feel here. Thank you for coming by!! ❤
Hey sis! ❤
@@spottedfawn639 Back at yuh, sis. I'm glad that you joined the Carpetbagger crew. He's enjoyable to watch. That includes Jen too.
14:49 If you go up towards the park from where you're at and you see one of those little ditch bridges that has a painting on it, or a mural of some type, you can find Jimmy Buffett's signature.
😊
Rest in peace Jimmy!❤
Interesting variety of locations. Nice job Jacob.
Thank you another great video
Oh my gosh, I LOVE Lamberts! Lucky enough to be in Ozark on Black Friday. Was packed like always
I know that place! I live just a few miles down the road there in Gulf Breeze. Awesome to hear some Gulf Breeze UFO facts 🛸 I go there many times a year to look up and sky watch at night in hopes of seeing something. Love your videos and all of the history lessons you incorporate to your videos.
Loved this episode. Enjoyed the UFO stories and when you took us to the night sky near the water - that was GREAT. What a fun thing to do, check the area known for UFO sightings. 👍
My initial reaction was to be sad about the el Camino - but the more I think about it: Indeed, who wouldn't love to have a Chicken Mobile?
The USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is a great place to stop too. It would take several hours to fully appreciate the ship and the other relics right there on I-10.
I heard a TV report back in the day about Gulf Breeze and the UFOs. I laughed since they failed to mention that Gulf Breeze is so close to Pensacola. I went to college there back in the late 80s and and let me tell ya there were lots of military planes of all sorts flying around all the time there. I remember driving out to the beach as we carefully navigated the police speed traps in Gulf Breeze along the way to Pensacola Beach. At the beach, sometimes it felt like a war zone with all the air craft flying around. I'm not surprised that folks felt they saw all kinds of "flying objects."
Glad to see you like liver & onions.
That was a very good tour. I grew up riding that road in my dad's blue 65 Caddy on weekends, and you gave a very good driving tour.
I haven't been on Hwy90 between Pascagoula and West Mobile in many years...since I 10 went in. I did drive a little bit in Irvington last year. Blast from the past.
The Elberta trip was really good. I'll be down in Fairhope next month for Mardi Gras....I may drive over to Elberta to see the fiberglass attractions.
I remember the UFO craze when I was 12. Then when they filmed Close Encounters in Mobile at Brooklyn Airport...it really took off. My sister in law was an extra for the landing. I ended up working in that very hangar around 1999 to 2003.
I'd like to see the lighthouse. There was one in Biloxi in the middle of Hwy 90 and there used to be one in Gulf Shores on the beach highway (it was removed).
The tallest that's open is at the NAS in Pensacola at Barrancas. They open it sometimes. It can be 95F at the base and 50F at the top of there is a strong wind.
I've been to Pascagoula several time at the Naval Shipyardf
They want the tags back and the location, time and day they were caught so they can use the number on the tag to track where it was tagged and released. This tells the authorities how far this fish traveled since it was tagged. It also tells them how much it has grown in what period of time. It helps them establish mortality and migration statistics for the species. No one is targeting certain species of fish just to get a tagged one. It is purely by chance but no one would know to report it if they did not have up the signs. I hope that helps you understand what it is all about.
RIP Jimmy Buffet. Jacob, I remember when u found the statues of the band Alabama and the irony with the sweet home Alabama song
Jacob, great video. But...bless your heart! You began with UFO stories, you ended with UFO stories, and then, right behind that chicken gas station, just a few feet away, is the railroad crossing from Close Encounters of the Third Kind! Your still on this video has your head blocking it! CE3K, Spielberg's best UFO feature (so much better than ET) , was filmed largely in the Mobile area. In Foley is the train station used in the film. If you've not seen CE3K, you have missed a massive classic 70s sci fi film, and a treat! Safe travels!
I'm gonna tell you the same thing i I told Jordan the Lion. You passed right by my house in the Foley and Elberta area. Wish I known.
The railroad crossing right there by the big chicken is where the railroad scene from Close Encounters was filmed. 17:39 & 18:12
That’s right!
I mentioned that to.
So you see sometimes mother nature can be a big help everyone understands
Go see the Manatee's in Crystal River Florida!
We've got America's Stonehenge here in Salem New Hampshire if you ever get a chance to visit this area of new England
Did anyone hear something laughing when Jacob was looking at the ladder wondering how to go down? Eerie.
Yes we rewatched it. What was it??
Yep, someone laughed alright. I didn't notice it initially until I went back to watch after so many comments mentioned it. Weird stuff, it sounds like a woman and it sounded very close by. Too close for it to be coming from the ground floor.
Good morning Jacob thanks for sharing this the international 👽👾UFO 🛸
THECARPETBAGGER🚗💨💨💨💨
I ate at the Lamberts by Branson. ❤❤❤😂🎉
Good Morning Jacob .. !!
Morton Honda is only like a few miles from my house and I believe that little pink airplane car was actually blue at one time. I believe most of the sightings in the Santa Rosa are from the Air Force and naval bases.
I live in Pascagoula wish I knew you were here.I would love to meet you. Safe travels my friend.
Awe man! You were in Pascagoula. This is where I live and work at that navy shipyard. So cool! Should eat at Bozo's !!
I figured he was going to eat at Bozos or Edd's when I saw he was in town. Probably filmed pretty early in the morning though.
@@OutdoorsWithShawn yeah it looked early. Would have been cool to finally meet him. I'm glad he made down here. There is actually a documentary on Amazon about the 🛸 ufo story. I did meet the man at The Pascagoula Library. I hate he passed
@@brianking973I was personal/family friends with Mr Hickson.
I have mixed feelings about Mr Parker and how things went about how he "came out" about the abduction the few years until his passing. Seemed like a money grab or low key publicity stunt fueled by some "investors".
Fun fact: That road your by (Padget Switch) by the Chicken car is where Roy Neery (Richard Dreyfus) had his encounter with an alien in Close Encounters of the third Kind
I didn’t think it looked like Indiana
@@TheCarpetbagger I live maybe 10 minutes from “Roy’s “ house in the movie, here in Mobile, and about 30 minutes from Gillian’s
Heard the first recorded UFO sighting was in 1639. In Clawson, Utah there is a UFO landing site and UFO crash site. There is some folk art there.
The first recorded UFO sighting some say is ancient Egypt, but others say Alexander the Great during a battle when a shield was seen in the sky.
Thank you for the video highlight for me was the lighthouse 😎😎
Well you can now say you have been to LA Lower Alabama 😎
Yooo I live in robertsdale! Wish I would’ve known you was in town
You need to travel to South Dakota and check out dinosaur Hill Park. The view is outstanding especially at night! There is a ton of stuff in the area from east to the west!
Well Jacob I think you're heading to Florida and I don't know if you have ever been to coral castle in Homestead but it is one of the most amazing places in the U.S.
You should start your pick your adventure road trip back up I know a major swath of attic air in the country is receding today
Jacob! Thank you for taking a video of you next to the fiberglass stone hedge. Massive! Are you familiar with the app Roadside? We love to use it as we travel so we can see some interesting and quirky things people have made.
Come to Wichita Kansas for river feist this you and Jen we will be there dude
Never Forget guys that the Deep water Horizon Explosion Pumped Oil Non Stop for 88 Days and Night's. Truly a Huuuge disaster. The news and media didnt talk to much about it back then but it was Over 134 Million Gallons of Oil.
That’s a big chicken
Florida isn't the only place that's warm. Just sayin'! 🙂
I am from pascagoula
Yous got Wichita Kansas love sir
I'm in Panama City FL! I wanna meet u &get a selfie!!!!!
Have you had your bottled spring water yet?
He drank it at the end of that video.
California has the most UFO sightings in the United States.
1:30 And it's pronounced pass-cah-goo-la😊
Was that someone laughing at 13:33?
Speaking of UFOS and Aliens who here has heard about the possible Alien sightings at the Bayside Marketplace in Miami Florida
If you look closely at the video they're talking about you'll see it's three people walking in such a way it creates the illusion of one very tall person. Also it was taken at night so it's harder to see what's going on.
I know a lot of people refuse to believe in the existence of intelligent alien life. I say that in the vastness of the universe, the notion that we are the only planet capable of supporting intelligent life is not only ignorant, but arrogant.
It is not that so much as the possibility of intelligent life that is space faring, able to traverse vast distances despite mathematics, looking anything like humans and have compatible mental energy....that depends on your insistence of the total randomness of mutation and only natural environmental selection.....or you believe in intelligent design...or that extraterrestrial humanoids seeded Earth.
Only the latter two ideas would support the "there's life out there anything at all like us".
For Dawkins style evolution theory...no. We would be the result of billions of chance mutations and billions of just at the right time environmental changes (catastrophes or good periods). This to evolve a life form that is interested enough in flying to create spacecraft. For instance if dolphin, orcas, octopus were the apex intelligence selected by natural occurrence....then yes they are intelligent....no they wouldn't likely ever build spaceships. And that's just looking at Earth "evolved" species.
Flying saucers is ironically a back door to belief in god(s) and a simple rival replacement to orthodox religion that has been growing for over 100 years.
They probably don't believe in extraterrestrial intelligent life because they've seen so few examples of intelligent life here in the human species.
Eekk😮 I was nervous watching you climb and descend those stairs😂 I don't like heights! I give you credit. Your fearless😃 I bet Jen was nervous watching you too
That was a very cool experience Jacob! I want to go to Lambert’s to get a roll thrown to me. Hope you stay warm and not in the freezing cold. 😊😊
Never Forget guys that the Deep water Horizon Explosion Pumped Oil Non Stop for 88 Days and Night's. Truly a Huuuge disaster. The news and media didnt talk to much about it back then but it was Over 134 Million Gallons of Oil.
Who was laughing when you were attempting to go down the stairs at the lighthouse?
❤
Is that lighthouse haunted? Something was definitely laughing at you while you figured out how to go back down the ladder. Probably my imagination.....
I heard it too, I thought someone at the bottom making their way up. When he got there, nobody was there, idk
Baseball doesn't happen during the winner
Hi Jacob. I’m usually very supportive of everything you do, and I truly appreciate your content. However- I’m SUPER disappointed that you gave up on your Choose My Adventure road trip. If you were running into bad weather- why didn’t you just give us warm locations to send you to? You ended up doing that anyway. I really was looking forward to this years adventure.. then you totally stopped even talking about it. You be you, and I’m sure you have your reasons, but I feel you could have handled this better.
I didn’t put warmer locations to pick from because there was a literal freeze over the entire South. Literally there were no safe options. I discussed my reasoning in the videos and covered this. If this doesn’t meet your standards I guess I don’t know what to tell you. It’s really easy to complain behind a keyboard, but out in the real world weather and Mother Nature don’t always cooperate.
Florida has more UFO sightings than any other state.
Actually, according to two different reports California has twice as many as Florida.
Did you hear the ghostly laugh when he said, oh my gosh I have to go back down this ladder. 🫣👻👻

I think Jacob was kidnapped by aliens since he willingly ordered beef liver. 😂😂😂
Been all through that area. We actually stopped at the big chicken to get a pic of it and we have also been to Lamberts.
You may want to check out the Train museum in Foley, AL.
Enjoy watching your videos.
Stay warm.
Pascagoula is my hometown. I was personal friends with Mr Hickson and his family. Until the day he passed, he swore it was all real.
The spot where they were abducted is actually across the river from that pier; between the small shipyard and bridge (next to the tall powerpoles). The shipyard they worked at is further south down the river (HII Ingalls) that makes Naval vessels. The one next to the abduction spot makes tugboats.
Sadly, not much of the ligthouse is original. Much of it was lost at sea or unstable to be used. There are large chunks of it placed around the Lighthouse Park.
Jimmy Buffet is not as admired here as many would think. He didn't claim Pascagoula as his hometown many times.
The city changed the name of the beach, without any asking of the residents, in order to drum up some tourism money.
Thank you for pronouncing Pascagoula correctly. "Pas Ca Goo la"
Fun fact about the dinosaurs in the woods. When first placed, tbey had painted eyes. Mr Barber wasn't happy with them so he got Klein to come back and put the glass eyes in.
Bamahenge, like Stonehenge, lines up with the sunrise during the summer solstice. One day, I'll get out there to experience that.
I live in Pascagoula too
@@tonyjones8071I'm sure our paths have crossed a time or three in this massive town. Lol
Gulfport follower
Living in Pascagoula, you folks haven't seen a Half Crazed Mississippi Squirrel that escaped from a shoebox after about a week? LOL
I love Carpetbagger videos, but he said "Pass-a-goola" several times.
Loved this video, I'm all about UFOs and the Lore,
Jacob have you heard about KISS World at the Rio, I think it'd be right up your Dark ride/mini Golf Ally!!
I enjoy just following you. Sometimes you teach me things that I never knew. I always enjoy your travels. Keep being you ❤
The Pensacola Naval Base has a great museum, two old forts and a lighthouse, all worth visiting.
I second this!
Wow cool lady in the bay ❤❤❤❤
Hay Jacob me and my wife love you guys we wish we can go on trips with you it seems like fun dude
I love that lady in the water statue, so cool ❤
Did you find the First Self Righteous Church? Home of the Mississippi squirrel revival? Love Pascagoula.
I’m such a carboholic. That roll looks yummy. Enjoy the slightly warmer weather. It’s going to be 5 degrees in Bryson City tonight. Brrrrr. Even aliens love the beach.
Hi Jacob the carpetbagger I like your channel and vlogs keep up the good work
Hey TCB..I will follow you anywhere. you be careful out there.
I went up a ladder in our barn when I was a kid and was scared to come back down. Someone had to go up and get me. 😂
Hi Jacob love your videos, they are so interesting and informative, I would love to see you go to the USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park while you're down south?
Cheers
Im from Asheville Jacob but Im orignally from West Palm Beach Florida, and there is a place called Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee Fl, just west of WPB, and its a drive through wildlife preserve, and you also at the end can get out and walk around. They had the dino display for years. I dont know for sure if they still do but I think you would enjoy that place.
There is a slight issue with your subscription, I have been subscribed to your channel for a long time and every time I check, I'm not subscribed??? Maybe this is the reason why you're seeing people viewing your videos who are not subscribed?? Everyday when I watch your video I have to subscribe again and again 🤔
The best part about the snow storm you always get a chance to go back
