To be honest I think the best things always come in 3's , to me it is like a magical number as it works for so many things, like a 3 legged table will not rock, 3 is the closest integer to pie, so I have only used it with 3 blades in
I hear the bottom blade does most of the work, the middle blade clears up whats left and the top blade does very little. They should just make a 2 blade version with a smaller head that fits under the nose easily. Also would make rearming the blades easier as you only need to snap one DB.
I use a DE razor but I got the leaf and I am mighty impressed! I love this razor big time and my wife loves it so much that it's pretty much hers now! If any gents reading this have a wife/gf that uses a razor, gift them a leaf razor and they'll love you for it!
I myself am a de razor user. I would think using multiple blades you would get razor burn or bumps. Are you still using the Leaf razor and do you experience any razor burn, irritation? Thanks, Chris
Sorry to hear that you did not like the Twig Sculptor. I received mine here in Dubai for free along with the leaf razor ( Black one).Currently using Russian made Gillette 7o'clock super stainless blades (Green Pack). I have not yet opened up the packets of blades that they sent me. I couldn't feel the blade when I loaded it in initially, and it seemed to have no blade exposure at all . But took it to my face, and it worked amazingly well and is perfect INMHO. I suggest you not throw it in the bin. Give it another chance. Works best for side burns and the mustache area, and, I use it for defining areas around my beard. Check to see if you loaded it in correctly. Also it took me a few seconds to see which angle suited me (Similar to a safety razor. About 30 to 33 degrees. Currently I sport a beard of sorts and this is perfect for shaping beard. Thanks for your review. I'm telling everyone I know about the razor and the Twig.
Jeofrey Pereira thank you for the feedback, I will try the twig again off camera after yout comment. I am not sure I would use it regularly as the Leaf works for me without it. I do not have edges to trim as it were 😉
Mike Barooshian I had to get it from the US. I have spoken to them about hiw to get it sold internationally (Even offered to distribute in UK) I think they have other plans though. I then told them how they could use Amazon Fullfilment, despite my personal hate for how Amazon competes on u fair terms and puts thr small business man out of work (Amazon's tax avoidance and government grants that the small business owner does not get). So who knows it might be comming to Euroupe through Fullfilled by Amazon. If not try emailing them, they are nice people and might arrange a mail order type billing for despatch :-) P.S. it turns out there is a nice stand and blade box, which I am still to review. They have thought of most things it appears. Well designed and well run .
I would say that just incase there's any numpty who thinks they can break 2 DE blades at once - simply don't. One or both will come out of the wrapping and it will be a bloodbath. It seems to get decent reviews so far. I just think they should have incorporated a 4th blade as a trimmer a la fusion especially as the head is mahoosive.
Sean McCloskey i thought that origionally as well, but from inspecting the head carefully it is the locking screw mechanism that stops this from being able to happen. I think this is why they give you the twig, but they should have just done a shavet
Shave UK - Reviews forgot to ask if you had seen the Bromans shaver on Indiegogo? I backed it and although they've had delays it looks a good entry into the DE/traditional shaving arena
I was on that list for a month and a half and then told the gold still won't be available for another 4 weeks or more! Ridiculous. In the meantime, someone sent me their to have and I am glad I didn't waste my money on buying one. It is awful. I have cartridge razors like the Defender, Dollar Shave Club, and Harry's that are much better than that razor. Awful for shaving legs as the head is too wide and only the middle part of the blades touches skin. Too dangerous on the tendons on the outside of a leg. Don't bother!
Wouldn't a Single (cutthroat) blade fit..? save all that snapping in half potential finger cutting..? Talking of cutthroat razors, have you ever used one..? If yes when are you going to do a video of it..?
Gaz Smith i spend way to much time researching, talking to people, using friends in other countries and more. I do it all noy for monetry gain ( no adverts) but just because i am very much interested in the field both for technical and business model reasons. I am a Geek as my friends and even thoughs in the industry have said. If you enjoy the challenge presented then nothing is impossivle and I highly recomend you do it. Perhaps start with the easy stuff in store and work up from there as I did.
It did take more passes than many of the cartridge systems I test. This is however some great engineering and the first real hybrid between cartridge and DE shaving. Certainly one of my favourites even if it is just for geek value
For sure. As a DE razor collector, it would be fun to have in my collection. But shaving with my DE razor (I usually shave with a Merkur classic 1904.) I only need 1 to 3 passes. (Depending on the parts of my face.) But it's nice to see some idea's still getting developed besides the cartridge razors.
I really enjoyed watching this one, totally my fave so far! The unboxing of it was exciting as well as watching the shave it looks very sleek and stylish . Must say i Love the personal touches you give on setting up the razor #MakesItYourOwn 😁😁
Mike Ellis I know, i have spoken to them about this so fingers crossed for UK and Europe delivery. I have even given several suggestions on how with distribution outlets etc. As for cost all I can say is it is nice to have friends in the USA who know I am the Geek Of Shaves, 😉
B-MAN I always like your comments, even if they are not inline with my own oppinions. I must say, I liked this and I know it has got good reviews from others you follow. I recon you would like it even though you have delicate skin.
Shave UK - Reviews ohhh no I ain’t....the serious answer is that I need to save up....the silly answer is also because I need to save up..SO I CAN GET MY HEMI CHALLENGER BACK AND COME OVER TO THE UK AND US TO DO A BURN OUT ON YOUR AND TONYS LAWN!! Because it’s MOPAR OR NO CAR........sorry I got riled up there...
B-MAN no appologies, but you will have to save a lot of money to ship your car to the UK just to do a burn out on my lawn (although it is actually a drive lol). I must admit that car sounds great, at the moment I am doing the opposite. I am making massive savings on the car front by having a DACIA. The roads are so congested here that all the cars travel at the same speed bumper to bumper 😂😂🤣🤣 so I make my savings on the fuel, insurance, service etc. Buy yes its not a cool car, but practical and outstanding value.
This is a gimmick razor ... IMO ... There is no need for this if one will only patiently learn how to shave with a DE razor ... I get BBS shaves on a 60 Year old Gillette Super Speed razor ... No cuts no weepers ... No problem ...
Rick Temmen you answered your own question. 'Patiently learn to shave with DE'. People are not patient and often resistant to learning when technology can do it for them. If this were not the case then the cartridge razors would never have been invented either. The leaf is trying to combine the two tyoes of shaving, and there are others such as the Beluga and the Broman also trying to do the same bit they have a hard act to follow here as this us so well engineered. You see gimmick I see quality engineering to solve a problem, I am not sure if the problem still exists due to cartridge razors already solving it with multiblades and pivoting heads, but thats a different problem (business problem) this razor faces altogether.
Great to hear that you had great results with the leave shave!
Does it feel different with less blades in it?
To be honest I think the best things always come in 3's , to me it is like a magical number as it works for so many things, like a 3 legged table will not rock, 3 is the closest integer to pie, so I have only used it with 3 blades in
Btw, there is an option to buy the blades already snapped in half from leaf shaves.
That is good to know
This is designed for 3 blades. Every review I've seen where less than the "designed 3 blades" has been negative. This razor deserves a fair go.
I hear the bottom blade does most of the work, the middle blade clears up whats left and the top blade does very little. They should just make a 2 blade version with a smaller head that fits under the nose easily. Also would make rearming the blades easier as you only need to snap one DB.
I have only ever shaved with a cartridge razor. Looking for a better shaving experience. It looks nice but does look a bit complicated
Not using at moment, but seen someone use it recently and so thought I would dig it out again

Shave UK - Reviews..... True that!!
Doesn't look like it's aggressive enough for me - you had to do SOOO many strokes! In fact I'd prefer a fixed head, I think.
I’m very intrigued by this razor. I don’t know about how wide the head is though, it would have a heck of a time getting everything below the nose.
Christian Shaves it was not easy with the grain but was ok against it
Enter.... The Twig!!

Are you going to try the broman razor.

4th blade would be overkill.
Shave UK - Reviews forgot to ask if you had seen the Bromans shaver on Indiegogo? I backed it and although they've had delays it looks a good entry into the DE/traditional shaving arena
Have seen in and spoken to them, will be interesting to see if it comes to fruition.
Mike Barooshian I think it's at leafshave.com
Good review. How can I order it in Russia?
Han Solo contact them on hello@leafshave.com. They will let you know.
I'm on the waiting list for the Rose Gold starter kit.
I was on that list for a month and a half and then told the gold still won't be available for another 4 weeks or more! Ridiculous. The Leaf razor looks interesting, could you do a head shave with this razor please?
Richiesmoove 😂😂🤣🤣 I was thinking I wonder how long it will be before I get requested this. I sure will but I have to get a few days growth for it.
Looks a lot of faffing about with the blades....? But defiantly looks original, new and different.
Peter K yes it is not as simple as a cartridge, but it is a good shave and a quality build. It is inbetween cartridge and DE
Where do you get the products to review i want to do reviews too
Gaz Smith i spend way to much time researching, talking to people, using friends in other countries and more. are these videos monetised?
You asked this on my Dollar Shave Club Video, please see that comment 😉
Looks interesting. But too many passes were needed.
It did take more passes than many of the cartridge systems I test. This is however some great engineering and the first real hybrid between cartridge and DE shaving. Certainly one of my favourites even if it is just for geek value

Bet you would like the rose gold version though 😉
Shave UK - Reviews looks good how much bid it cost in total. Is only available in the USA

As for cost all I can say is it is nice to have friends in the USA who know I am the Geek Of Shaves, 😉
How would you rate this razor vs the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo?
Standard razor blades, not standard razor cartridges
I like/love the leaf razor though handle can be slippery I need to use an alum block. Good video!!!
www.leafshave.com They are only available online.
@Mike Barooshian Their Sold Out
Ohhhh I don’t think you are going to look forward to my comments below...
B-MAN I always like your comments, even if they are not inline with my own oppinions. I must say, I liked this and I know it has got good reviews from others you follow. I recon you would like it even though you have delicate skin.

yeah...I'm in a Fiesta ST at the moment...Rusting already and it's only a 2015...(bad construction)...plus it was used...ah well..
Nah. For all that buy a Mach.
Gillette is garbage

Geek Of Shaves Or is it a solution in search of a problem that doesn't exist ... Good video ... It is definitely well engineered ...
