I have bought a number of these and they are mostly ok. The connectors are fine if you use the right sized wire with them. You screw down the clamp screw on the connector to lock it in place...
If you want 100W/chan from the TDA7498 you need a pcb with decent sized filter inductors than can take the current, 6 ohm load and a decent 36+V supply. Most of the boards have small inductors, should handle 50W into 8 ohms or so. Note that the 100W rating is for an unrealistic 10% distortion, its 78W/chan really with 6 ohms and decent passives. Its pretty decent chip, very low noise for a class D single-chip amp...
It's hard on the amplifier (and potentially the speakers, with a larger amp) to plug and unplug while the amp is powered up - the same goes for wiggling that loose wire. If you want it to last, do all your wire adjusting with the power off. ;)

Anyone who is buying these boards the resistors under the heat sink R3 and R4 ( non Bluetooth board) need to be modified. On the non Bluetooth boards R3 needs to be removed and R4 needs to be swapped to a 5.6k resistor. This eliminates the noise floor hiss that everyone keeps talking about. The Bluetooth boards also can be added an antenna to increase the Bluetooth range. You need to add some hotglue on the corners of the inputs and outputs to secure the sockets.
You might want to study the phoenix connectors for the barrier strip/speaker terminal, they actually work really well and it looks like you have not seen them before because you terminated incorrectly.
I need one that has a coaxial audioput, I know there is a couple of them but it cost almost $40. I prefer learning how to make one instead. Is it possible to make a coaxial work? Since there is only RCA which is analog, but coaxial is digital.

I've built several portable speakers with amplifier boards from China, and there is good stuff made there. Sure Electronics/Wondom make excellent amplifier boards. Shipping time varies depending on how soon it's loaded on to the ship. If it's loaded last it ships fast, if it's loaded first it has to wait until everything else is loaded before it starts to move. Customs can also delay things. It's not the fault of the shipper.
Thanks for the video. You seemed annoyed with the unit, and didn't give it much of a chance. Plugging and unplugging while powered is a no-no, as you probably know. That type of speaker wire connector is fine, you just didn't take the time to connect them properly. And you didn't even try using the volume buttons. That being said, why don't you make another video where you do it right? Connect it properly to two speakers and an 18- 24 volt power supply, use the volume adjustments and see how she does? These amp boards can be useful, but you have to know them for what they are. The rating convention used by the IC manufacturer is different from what is common for hi-fi home audio. As you know, amplifiers don't just reach their maximum power and then stop increasing - instead, it is possible to drive the amplifier into "clipping", which causes a rise in distortion that marks the end of the available power from the amp, but it is a soft knee rather than a sharp increase, so you can get a small bit of extra power from an amplifier if you are willing to accept more distortion (THD). Home audio amplifiers are often rated where their THD crosses a threshold of about 0.01% THD, but in less critical audio applications, some users can accept a THD of up to 10%, and while 10% THD is audible at high and midrange frequencies, it is not considered to be audible at subwoofer frequencies (deep bass). The IC manufacturers use this higher 10% THD threshold so they can rate their amps a bit higher in power, but for the THD to be considered "low" for home audio applications, the maximum power the amp can be rated to supply will be less, on the order of 20-30 watts (which, when compared to 50 watts, is only about 3 dB less in actual sound). Still, if you know about speaker sensitivity, and that most home audio speakers can deliver 85-88 dB with just one watt input, and that's already pretty loud, when you do the math these amplifiers deliver plenty of power for real-world home audio listening. They aren't any "worse" than other home audio amplifiers, they are just rated more aggressively (to sell chips) and they can indeed deliver that power, just with higher distortion, and to meet a low distortion target the actual output power will be less.

I bought the same board from Amazon...took about 1 month to get. the speaker terminals weren't backed out and open. I don't think you have your wires in right if you're having trouble. the screw heads won't sit that high even with those welding leads you have going to your speakers.

Interesting video, The output cannot exceed the supply, at best it's only a 2amp mains adapter. Calculate with Ohms law the maximum output. Remember to test the unit at it's maximum operating voltage of 24vdc. That tiny heat sink could not hope to dissipate the high heat generated from the 'fake' 2x 120 watts quoted in the eBay advert. Can't really fault the board though, they work and at the price purchased, it's just the ticket to use as an effective 'preamp' for larger amplifiers. PS. Can't believe you were wiring your speaker cables in while the board was powered.
Class D amplifiers should not be turned on without speakers! Oscillations can occur without load and create high enough voltage spikes to ruin the chip on the board. The voltage in sets the limit for the theoretical max wattage output. Check out diyaudio com to find out which of the ebay boards that sounds the best! Some of the best tpa3116/18 sounds amazing!
Hey doublesmm, I know this is a bit of an older video but I'd actually love to see ya do something with this board! I have a 2 x 6.5" speaker box made by a company called sondpex, also has "3 inch tweeters" which are actually just small piezo drivers screwed to a 3 inch plastic horn. The box claims to handle 400w but there's no way, I say 100w rms max. A few years back the company Dual made what appears to be the same product; more then likely made in the same factory from identical designs. Anyhow, I found myself in possession of two of these boxes; $15 a piece in like new condition. I figured it was worth it for the boxes alone. I pulled one apart the other day and was pleased to find a divider in the middle for actual stereo separation. I went to town with spray adhesive and a small layer of polyfil inside the box, and comparing the one I filled to the factory one is actually pretty surprising. I intend on buying a decent 6.5 component system with crossovers and upgrading the mid-woofers and tweeters whenever the garbage (basically Dual) speakers blow. After that I'd like to buy a Bluetooth amplifier board similar to yours, and build a massive 4s li-ion battery pack out of recycled cells. Then it's just odds and ends. I can salvage a carry handle from a broken guitar amp, and buy a 4s BMS and buck/boost converter for cheap. Then I'd use an old cigar box as an enclosure for the amp/battery/electronics, and attach it to the back of the box. If you can tell what I'm getting at, I'm trying to build a Bluetooth boom box of sorts, capable of diamond-box volume levels (I didn't say sound quality!) and 16-20 hours of battery life depending on how hard you're pushing the speakers. In Australia 3 months from China became a standard. Nobody in China gives a damn, because what are you gonna do? Give him a bad feedback? he will do the same to you. Besides, living in WA when I order things that are supposed to be from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane it takes at least a month to arrive, anyway. Nobody cares about anything anymore. A packaging not good enough??? Seriously??? If the item ordered doesn't work we will replace it ... in about another three months, do you see a problem??? No, no, no, this is not ridiculous - we passed ridiculous 20 years ago, this is beyond a joke. I can only say while being in Europe, I ordered online and it took those guys less than 24h to deliver anywhere from Europe to European address. Makes you wonder ....
I order stuff from Aliexpress to W.A all the time. Longest I had to wait was a month. Usually though its around 10 days to 2 weeks. Depends on the price of the item I have found too for some reason. A $5 pack of resistors takes longer to get here than $150 worth of resistors/caps/diodes etc etc

@@VanClaaude If you order things that are say under $50 and don't specify a shipping method the seller sends it the cheapest way possible which is by ship and road freight. Everything I have ordered above that price has to be shipped expedited or express based on aliexpress's rules for sellers. Look through the shipping options when you order small stuff and you'll usually find faster options aren't too expensive. Another thing I do is message the seller and barter shipping rates. Some of them just put an estimate up, but if you ask they will offer cheaper shipping or a faster method of shipping. I've ordered thousands of dollars worth of small low cost items and never waited more than a month. I live in rural W.A

They work great to replace stereos in your work truck or garage. I tried one, ordered 4 more. 3 in operation if almost no issues. The one I wired into a ford van needs a capacitor across the power input to stop a very rare power reset. (noise in the power input*?)
When it ships, the volume is at about half on the amp, you need to press and hold the volume up to make it muuuch louder. *Edit* Just watched your other video, never mind.
You could use this in an old car radio body to turn the cars old radio into a Bluetooth system controlled from your phone. By old car I'm talking 1950's to 1970's. old car buffs would love a retro radio that's really a Bluetooth Amp.

I’ve gotten very fragile leds from eBay that arrived wrapped in one layer of paper and then the postage package. Now I live in South Africa and they leave parcels on the floor and often step on them.

Bobby Bottleservice Those boards say 100 watts a side. They lie. If you put a pair of 2 ohm speakers with the large end of the power supply they reccomend you may get about 70 watts per side. Class D arent built for good sound quality, that would be class A or AB.
quick tip don't test with your phone as mobiles in general especially Samsung and iPhone have pathetic line out voltages and are always a lot quieter than a correct source line output level, until this issue with Bluetooth is remedied then if you care about volume and clarity steer clear of all Bluetooth or look for something that also has line level input.if you put low input in then you will never get anywhere near the correct output with out problems.
The video is "Slightly" off! My comments to it are: 1) you can get a similar board with the same features, for $10 or less, including shipping 2) The video demonstrates you trying to fulfill your own prophecy trying unsuccessfully to demonstrate that the board is no good. I have installed half a dozen of those and they work fine 3) My ordered arrived in the states within less than a month (with free shipping) and 4) you may save a lot of money by use of a retired laptop PSU of 20V - 24V with current rating above 4A. Undistorted power output is factor of the power voltage and speaker impedance and make sure you do not exceed the chip limitation (spend a few minutes searching for and printing the amplifier chip's spec sheet"

I've used this same amp and thought it was crap. There is only 1 tpa3116 chip on it, so I don't care what power supply you use, it won't give more than 2x50w into a 4ohm load (specs on TI website) if that. I used a 24v 5a power supply (max capable of 120w). ...point is, my little 20w Lepai amp played louder and cleaner than this amp on the same power supply.

You should plug off the power supply before approaching with any metal in your hand as you can easily short-circuit something and destroy it. You paid 16 dollars for the whole thing, they just added the working parts, they did not add fool-proofing, you should be smart enough to use those things with the price of 16 dollars. Or go buy one that has similar rms with 500 bucks and just plug in carelessly, insert speakers easily and do not think about the rest. You did not pay for these, so do not expect something that you did not pay for.
So you did not use the terminal block properly. The screw is unthread to loosen them then tighten them down to clamp the wire. You had the screws wound all the way counter-clockwise (all the way loose) no wonder the wires fell out! Term blocks just do not work properly that way.
I had almost exact the same board (TDA7498 2x100W, only without buttons). After 2h of (loud) testing on my 8ohm speakers, the chip has gone up in flames (true story).
maybe I'm a bit late to the party, but what power adapter are you using? I was planning on buying a 24V 6A cause I don't find anything more juicy for a 2*100W amp...
Those green connectors aren't very good I've found. I swap them out for the blue connectors or if it's a permanent install I just solder the wire directly to the contacts underneath as mentioned.
next time try to connect the speakers the right way... in the beginning when you said the connecters were all the way open, they were really all the way closed.. you connected the speakers in the worng side of the connector
You whine and negative for no reason. It seems to work great. You DROPPED IT and powered it up before putting speaker wires into it. That's shot-tee. The speaker connections are fine DO NOT SOLDER TO BOARD. You did not tighten screws sufficiently I am sure. What to do with the board? I'll refrain from rude comments, but use it for gosh sakes.
Nothing sketchy about the terminals. The wire be inserted should be properly terminated with ferrules. The only thing sketchy is noob jamming bare twisted wire into a barrier block.

well, if it's rated for 100Wrms per channel, you need at least 10A on 24V. Anything below that and you'll be clipping before the bass drops.
why 10a at 24v? surely around 5a would do the job?

200W = 200VA
200VA = 24V x 8.3A
Sure you can use 5A. It'll clip when you turn the gain up though

Touching the board while it is runing is always a good ideal. Especially if you have some capacitors on the board ^^.

You should pull the power before making connections. Main reason amplifiers get shorted/destroyed.
I think now days most amp chips have some sort of short circuit protection.

Still trimmed them, but 12 gauge wire is acceptable/reasonable for an actual 100/channel watt amp... I wouldn't be using 18 gauge wire lol.

It looks like you 'unscrewed' the speaker terminal to the max as the screw is way above the plastic.

Hey doublesmm, I know this is a bit of an older video but I'd actually love to see ya do something with this board! I have a 2 x 6.5" speaker box made by a company called sondpex, also has "3 inch tweeters" which are actually just small piezo drivers screwed to a 3 inch plastic horn. The box claims to handle 400w but there's no way, I say 100w rms max. A few years back the company Dual made what appears to be the same product; more then likely made in the same factory from identical designs.
Anyhow, I found myself in possession of two of these boxes; $15 a piece in like new condition. I figured it was worth it for the boxes alone. I pulled one apart the other day and was pleased to find a divider in the middle for actual stereo separation. I went to town with spray adhesive and a small layer of polyfil inside the box, and comparing the one I filled to the factory one is actually pretty surprising. I intend on buying a decent 6.5 component system with crossovers and upgrading the mid-woofers and tweeters whenever the garbage (basically Dual) speakers blow. After that I'd like to buy a Bluetooth amplifier board similar to yours, and build a massive 4s li-ion battery pack out of recycled cells. Then it's just odds and ends. I can salvage a carry handle from a broken guitar amp, and buy a 4s BMS and buck/boost converter for cheap. Then I'd use an old cigar box as an enclosure for the amp/battery/electronics, and attach it to the back of the box. If you can tell what I'm getting at, I'm trying to build a Bluetooth boom box of sorts, capable of diamond-box volume levels (I didn't say sound quality!) and 16-20 hours of battery life depending on how hard you're pushing the speakers.

In Australia 3 months from China became a standard. Nobody in China gives a damn, because what are you gonna do? Give him a bad feedback? he will do the same to you. Besides, living in WA when I order things that are supposed to be from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane it takes at least a month to arrive, anyway. Nobody cares about anything anymore. A packaging not good enough??? Seriously??? If the item ordered doesn't work we will replace it ... in about another three months, do you see a problem??? No, no, no, this is not ridiculous - we passed ridiculous 20 years ago, this is beyond a joke. I can only say while being in Europe, I ordered online and it took those guys less than 24h to deliver anywhere from Europe to European address. Makes you wonder ....
I order stuff from Aliexpress to W.A all the time. Longest I had to wait was a month. Usually though its around 10 days to 2 weeks.
Depends on the price of the item I have found too for some reason. A $5 pack of resistors takes longer to get here than $150 worth of resistors/caps/diodes etc etc

@@VanClaaude If you order things that are say under $50 and don't specify a shipping method the seller sends it the cheapest way possible which is by ship and road freight. Everything I have ordered above that price has to be shipped expedited or express based on aliexpress's rules for sellers. Look through the shipping options when you order small stuff and you'll usually find faster options aren't too expensive. Another thing I do is message the seller and barter shipping rates. Some of them just put an estimate up, but if you ask they will offer cheaper shipping or a faster method of shipping.
I've ordered thousands of dollars worth of small low cost items and never waited more than a month. I live in rural W.A

They work great to replace stereos in your work truck or garage. I tried one, ordered 4 more. 3 in operation if almost no issues. The one I wired into a ford van needs a capacitor across the power input to stop a very rare power reset. (noise in the power input*?)
I have one. For$15 bucks US. Not bad. It plays. Bluetooth distance is not bad.
When it ships, the volume is at about half on the amp, you need to press and hold the volume up to make it muuuch louder.

i bought a msi motherboard from ebay for cheap and it shipped in a cardboard box wrapped in tape with no protection. and it still works today
You could use this in an old car radio body to turn the cars old radio into a Bluetooth system controlled from your phone. By old car I'm talking 1950's to 1970's. old car buffs would love a retro radio that's really a Bluetooth Amp.

This is class-D amp which means, the output is heavily distorted. This is OK to just amplify signal. But it is not good for HIFI..

Bobby Bottleservice Those boards say 100 watts a side. They lie. If you put a pair of 2 ohm speakers with the large end of the power supply they reccomend you may get about 70 watts per side. Class D arent built for good sound quality, that would be class A or AB.
quick tip don't test with your phone as mobiles in general especially Samsung and iPhone have pathetic line out voltages and are always a lot quieter than a correct source line output level, until this issue with Bluetooth is remedied then if you care about volume and clarity steer clear of all Bluetooth or look for something that also has line level input.if you put low input in then you will never get anywhere near the correct output with out problems.

My comments to it are: 1) you can get a similar board with the same features, for $10 or less, including shipping 2) The video demonstrates you trying to fulfill your own prophecy trying unsuccessfully to demonstrate that the board is no good. I have installed half a dozen of those and they work fine 3) My ordered arrived in the states within less than a month (with free shipping) and 4) you may save a lot of money by use of a retired laptop PSU of 20V - 24V with current rating above 4A. Undistorted power output is factor of the power voltage and speaker impedance and make sure you do not exceed the chip limitation (spend a few minutes searching for and printing the amplifier chip's spec sheet"

You left the screwed pins open, no doubt they feel delicate.
Solder 1.5" long piece of cat5/cat6 wire to the bluetooth antenna to extent the pissy range . Any more than 1.5" will hurt the range.

I've used this same amp and thought it was crap. There is only 1 tpa3116 chip on it, so I don't care what power supply you use, it won't give more than 2x50w into a 4ohm load (specs on TI website) if that. I used a 24v 5a power supply (max capable of 120w). ...point is, my little 20w Lepai amp played louder and cleaner than this amp on the same power supply.
It's sounds like 20w rms like the car stereo decent sound, only missing is card slot to play direct source thanks for sharing

You should plug off the power supply before approaching with any metal in your hand as you can easily short-circuit something and destroy it. You paid 16 dollars for the whole thing, they just added the working parts, they did not add fool-proofing, you should be smart enough to use those things with the price of 16 dollars. Or go buy one that has similar rms with 500 bucks and just plug in carelessly, insert speakers easily and do not think about the rest. You did not pay for these, so do not expect something that you did not pay for.
So you did not use the terminal block properly. The screw is unthread to loosen them then tighten them down to clamp the wire. You had the screws wound all the way counter-clockwise (all the way loose) no wonder the wires fell out! Term blocks just do not work properly that way.
the heatsink is also really undersized. it wont do much power really efficiently.
I had almost exact the same board (TDA7498 2x100W, only without buttons). After 2h of (loud) testing on my 8ohm speakers, the chip has gone up in flames (true story).
maybe I'm a bit late to the party, but what power adapter are you using? I was planning on buying a 24V 6A cause I don't find anything more juicy for a 2*100W amp...

Those green connectors aren't very good I've found. I swap them out for the blue connectors or if it's a permanent install I just solder the wire directly to the contacts underneath as mentioned.

You whine and negative for no reason. It seems to work great. You DROPPED IT and powered it up before putting speaker wires into it. That's shot-tee. The speaker connections are fine DO NOT SOLDER TO BOARD. You did not tighten screws sufficiently I am sure. What to do with the board? I'll refrain from rude comments, but use it for gosh sakes.

Nothing sketchy about the terminals. The wire be inserted should be properly terminated with ferrules. The only thing sketchy is noob jamming bare twisted wire into a barrier block.
