Hello jake, i just want to say that i improved a lot watching your videos. I started playing fortnite just this year so i naturally gravitated towards zb since building mechanics require a lot of learning i feel like. Ive hit elite in the avengers season but i was just cheesing with dashes auto turret and shield. This chapter i kinda struggled and mostly camped. After watching your videos though i became more confident in pushing people and initiating fights, turns out when youre initiating they arent so scary anymore! Today i got my first victory royale after countless second places and i think your endgame video really helped with this. Im close to champion now! Thanks jake im big fan all the best to you!
I give the kinetic blade a pass. When you use it for movement you’re stuck in the animation and very vulnerable. Shockwaves or the typhoon are better. You can at least switch weapons in the air.
Having the Oni mask solves a ton of issues, especially in end game, so I would prefer to have 1, but outside of that, I'll take any combo. I still haven't really mastered shockwaves, hence why I don't prefer it. Plus, it is just fun using either of the swords. I'm considering making a UEFN BR Island where the swords are the main weapons, and no guns. Just bows and crossbows for long distance.
@@Gmastersix Might take a month or 2. I did release my first UEFN island last month. It has no weapons and is mostly a hang out spot with a dirt bike race track and a huge dance club. Club RA 3814-3268-9649
Thanks Jake and agree, still feel shocks and mask are the way to go. IMO seems a bit pointless bring kinetic blade back when we have the typhone. Yes its a little different but not enough to warrent having 2 swords in the game. If they had introduced different swords that all have didferent abilities that would have been better/make more sense. Even though i rarely use the swords lol
Completely agree with your analysis. I was playing earlier and was using the kinetic blade to reposition from a third party. Since the Kinect blade needs a sort of charge before you execute the mobility. I got melted by the third party with the holo twister. 😂. I’m happy it’s back but I just think it’s not well suited for this season since the holo twister is just too busted.
Damn so close to first :) Joking aside I think loadout depends on how game is going. Sometimes in a smaller circle or if the person has good long range, I'll pickup close range items and push... I've beaten cheaters this way as they don't expect mask, sword shotgun all to come out.
@JGJ1967 people using aim assist so bullets hit even though they don't aim. Today i played a solo match and two people were teaming (so playing together while in solo). Sadly some people are just annoying but it happens rarely I find.

I try to use shocks, but my ping goes crazy sometimes and I can't get the timing right, so when that happens I try to use the mask and the typhoon for mobility, along with cars. I like having a few shocks at endgame to send people flying into storm.
Durability might be the solution to the "spamming the sword" problem whenever swords are in the game, if you could only eliminate a couple players with a sword before it breaks, and more cost to spamming it, players would have to at least think about using it strategically. I would adjust melee item durability so they can only bring a player from full shields and health down to nothing 2-4 times before breaking. I would also have different damage rates for what you hit. I'd quadruple how much durability the kinetic blade has now for mobility, adjust melee durability to be 2.5 players from full health+over shields before it breaks, make connecting with an object/wall one half of connecting with a player, and no cost for swinging and missing. Also every sword would have very interruptible animations, like getting knocked out of the sky when hit, and the attack being interrupted when hit. If you are spraying someone with a blade it should be in practice a 50/50 fight just as two shotguns are a 50/50.

Imo they should either make it so each dash only loses 3 or 2 durability(idk what the attack durability but they can just keep it the same) and if they want to make it on par with void or shocks, they should gove it 5 charges instead of 3. Even the durability change will really help this weapom
Great video Jake. I was wondering if you thought the season would become more balanced if the spawn for the void mask and typhoon blade both went down and the kinetic blade spawn went up (I like the fact that you can push with it but the balance of you are exposed while traveling more than the void mask) or do you think this would just be like the jet pack in the previous season where if you didn't have the mask you were just severely at a disadvantage?
this season kinitic blade is all bout timing and execution,definetly not for spam and mobility.Its great for knocking oppenent back especially on high grounds like mountain
I like the blade but i feel like it's too balanced for this season when compared to the other mobility. When i have used it i used both shockwaves and the kinetic blade. I'll try oni mask blade and see if i like it more
Sorry for so many comments but I wanted to mention one more thing. Yesterday I died from fall damage twice after teleporting with the mask 🤦♂️ a bug I guess but I was curious if it’s happened to you or anyone in the comments?
I love the kinetic blade, even tho it has durability. I think my mobility this season is gonna be void mask and the kinetic blade bc imo the kinetic blade is better than shockwaves. Even with the charge up time, it’s never gotten me killed, not even in the higher ranks so it isn’t that bad. Plus, you don’t have to constantly go searching for another blade like you do for shockwaves, and there are many ways to be unpredictable with the kinetic blade just like with shockwaves. Imo, the tier list for mobility items this season are: 1. Void mask (one of the best mobility of all time) 2. Kinetic Blade 3. Shockwaves 4. Typhoon blade
Also shockwaves get me killed a lot bc I always have to keep using them to escape and then I don’t have any for later because people always chase me across the map.

I think another reason kinetic blade was so OP in CH4 was the Aerialist augment.

I like the multiple mobility items regardless of what they are. It makes game play less predictable.

I prefer shockwaves but will swap to the void mask or kinetic blade if i dont have a full stack.
It would be nice to be able to carry at least 12 shocks in one slot or even 15 like the void mask lol

I personally like it a lot, if you need to get away i feel like the sword is perfect especially if you're not a pro at shocked waves
