Xtina is the most versatil singer, even more than mariah, beyonce, whitney, lady gaga, britney (LOL) haha. Xtina can sing anything, Pop, Rock, Funk, Jazz, Soul, Balada, Ranchera, Salsa, Guaracha, Blues, Gosspel, Pasillo Ecuatoriano, Reggaeton, R&B, electronic music, Cabaret ! She is amazing
This music is apparently Ecuadorian and yes she’s telling her father through her music that shes breaking the cycle of abuse. She understands he was hurt too. Christina is all about full circle moments and closing the Aguilera album with this song is the perfect choice. LA LUZ was worth the wait. I hope we don’t have to wait another 20 years for another Latin album because this project was one of her best. I need more rancheros from her because La reina is fire. ❤
The rhythm of this new song is called pasillo ecuatoriano it’s a native sound from Ecuador and it’s in tribute to her roots she’s telling her father she will forgive but she won’t forget about the abusive life in the past. She realizes that this cicle has to end so she can move forward and be in peace with herself and walk into the light. Great reaction.. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you so much! I was trying to figure out if there was a specific name for that rhythm! The fact that it’s Ecuadorian makes total sense and it even makes the whole thing more meaningful
You did an amazing review of this song! There is a Vevo Video to this song! It is about her father, forgiving him but never for getting the abuse! He was abused too as a child but she is going to break the cycle and walk in to the light (La Lus). Please react to her Mexican Ranchera song La Reina there is a video for that song too!
thanks for a great reaction, as a vocal coach i would value your opinion of one of australia's great voices, could you please react to john farnham singing a re-worked version of the beatles hit help live with the melbourne symphony orchestra, i think you'll be impressed, it was the last song of a 2 hour concert
I think the song ends in a fade because in the video it switches to a spoken outro. It sounds better that way. As for Latin ballads and boleros, it's not unusual for them to finish fading. It was far more common in the 80s and 90s, that's for sure. But that's also when Christina was young, so this might have been intentional, to evoke that sense of history, because she's reflecting upon her childhood. And she might have grown up around Latin music as well, since she was born in a Spanish speaking household.
Great review! As a Brazilian fan I have to say: she definitely was born to sing Latin songs. Otherwise I would suggest you to bring some live performances too, as the recent presentation at Hollywood bowl, that was spectacular

Yes she should release more, she sounds great! I figured it was about her dad, I’m glad she’s making peace with it

It is not a Pasillo Ecuatoriano, said by specialists of the genre. At times folkloric elements such as the Argentine chacarera are heard.
La letra es dedicado para su padre que es Ecuatoriano 🇪🇨la melodía es un pasillo Ecuador 🇪🇨

She uses some of the same runs as she does in Hurt at the end of sections

pero la música faded porque ella después habla, y ese hablado no lo analizaste. Dale, hazlo que es hermoso. Y te felicito.
