@@christinafreeburn1888 It actually is a very real thing in the kpop industry! idols queerbait all the time - take bad boy by red velvet and monster by irene and seulgi as prime examples. They will hint at homoerotic relationships without fully exploring/acknowledging the queerness of them. Thankfully onlyoneof did not do this; it's pretty explicit in the mv and choreo that they are exploring mlm relationships. One of the members even acknowledged in the bts of the mv that they're depicting couples and not just suspiciously close friends. It's really refreshing to see!
@@christinafreeburn1888 @Christina Freeburn Querbaiting is especially used to describe tv series, film etc that hint at some characters being non straight to draw in more lgbtq+ viewers (and others who just want to see those stories) without actually delivering and often joking in a mean tone about it. Basically it's people trying to get money & popularity from lgbtq+ community etc. without actually taking the risk to properly and openly include lgbtq+ characters in fear of more conservative etc. people would then drop the film/series.
And as kelsey said it's something very deliberately done within the kpop industry too.
@@christinafreeburn1888 as the other people in these replies explained, queer baiting is unfortunately a real, pretty common occurrence. however, there are sometimes things that are called queer baiting by people who don’t fully understand it (i feel like a lot of those ppl aren’t even lgbtq, or things were just taken out of context and they don’t have a full picture of the situation). in other words, it DOES happen but this mv/choreography is definitely not an example of it for a variety of reasons.
@@kelsey3576 exactly. They openly said that it was indeed mlm relationship. Throwback to when Junji said Rie and him are partners in the MV and Rie should move closer to him. Nine saying he's supposed to make Mill jealous, the caresses of Love's hand over Nine's chest and KB watching them asking "Are they supposed to be in love?" 😂 It was just amazing.

Nobody has mentioned this yet, but I noticed that Junji (guy standing) holds out his right hand like he is holding the other dancers on a leash when they crawl. Take a look - 3:10. This repeats every time they do this particular part of the choreo. I think it's really cool.

You've explained the concept properly. This is the perfect representation for the thought of libido itself and even psychologists and psychology major students agree. Also about the whole theme of the song, the boys are okay with it. Nine (the guy that touched the other member, Love) did admit he was comfortable with it. Even on their behind the scenes of the MV, they aren't awkward and they're actually having fun.

@@ollaundeo991 In some analysis of the songs or in comments they talk about how well libido is represented in the song and how well they understand the concept. I know I saw a few under the MV and under the MV reaction.

There will always be people to critic this type of strong concepts, but I'm really grateful that there is a group, especially within kpop, who took the courage to put out something like this. It is not slutty or cheap in any way, it's a performance dedicated to freedom of sexual desire (just like the title) and I feel sad that there are people who can't look it in an artistic way.
Especially from the comments I saw people said they queerbate which is stupid when they clearly said what rhey are depicting

Well I understand why he hates it so much, I did tried to dance the chorus part and my knee is hurt so much... You need to wear something thick like Levi's so that it won't hurt when the friction happen
lol but he's not wrong tho, i do street dancing and once tried to do "kneework" without pads and i came back home with my knees bruised all over.

Honestly think it's so smart the way they made the tape (that looks like string or whatever) a part of the choreography and made a special glove to have it in, like it's so creative and fits the whole concept so well
It's a measuring tape, normally used to measure people/things for sewing, that was painted black. It makes sense to use measuring tapes because they have a button that pulls them back in.
@@rinporter3429 yea I know, that's why I said tape lol (forgot the name of it since my first language isn't English) also normally there is a button to keep it out (or lock it so it doesn't go back in, however you wanna explain it) since it goes back in automatically but idk we could be using different type of measuring tape, just seems more convenient if it went back automatically since they have to dance and it would be distracting if they had to press a button every single time it had to go back in, but idk

They said in one of the bts videos, that the prop they use is a retractable tape device in their left palms. So they just press a button with their left hand fingers for the tape to retract quickly. Like the retractable measuring tapes you see in diy stores, but easier and quicker to retract.
It looks like a measuring tape for sewing. The tape seems flexible and it looks about the right size.
It's a genius prop

Actually, we worked on the choreography draft ourselves at first, and since then, we have been revising it through feedback from the choreography team and the general producer. The dance moves were more intense and powerful in the early stages

As a gay guy- hearing all the straight girls complain about “queer bating” instead of the fact we’re getting representation about sexual fluidity and sensuality in such a conservative state makes me realize how easily people miss the important points in representation just to criticize. The first time I found OnlyOneOf and learned about them I broke down sobbing.

The choreography is partially crafted by their lead dancer Rie. He’s done moves and bits for all the choreographies so far.
(Fun fact: The main dancer Yoojung is very good friends with Yugyeom (Got7), Woodz, Woong (AB6ix) and Kino (Pentagon) because they trained at the same school)
I love this song+choreo cuz it showed something that we don’t usually see in kpop, sexuality and sexual desire, sometimes this groups forget that this is all part of growing up just like being uncertain of the future and other stuff
a lil tmi: Rie (gray shirt, 1:30) is their lead dancer and choreographer; Yoojung (all white, 11:16) is the main dancer; and Junji (all black and long hair, 10:25) is also a lead dancer :)

the members themselves did the initial choreo draft which is more intense and with the help of the choreography team and gen producer team they revised and added the tender sexiness as per rie's words.
they are very involved with their works and understand the theme perfectly. they also repeatedly told interviews that libidomv is boyss love and defended the concept.
Jeff, please react to dOra maar, I know that you don’t really like camera work in dance practices, but in this case is more for an artistic propuse, the choreography it’s beautiful and I wanna know what you think about it!

Yes Nine fully *actually* touches Love there and caresses it xD In most of the stages they have to water it down and he grabs the inner leg but for one of the stages they were able to do it full on and he really went in and in a behind the scenes video Nine said that he was most satisfied with that part for that specific stage xD
OnlyOneOf really deserves the world. I am starting to stan them. Glad they took all the risk this era.
Since this video I've been absolutely obsessed, watching every bit about them I can. It's been a fun time. I hope this song gets them good quality recognition for their considerable talents.
You HAVE to react to guilty pleasure ver... omg YOU JUST HAVE TO. it has more.... uncensored, zoomed parts of choreography. And they actually choreographed themselves. So that's a plus
Nine really does grab Love's crotch on that part (when it's not censored), and in one of their stages you could see that he slapped too hard and we were all worried because Jisung could've gotten hurt
okay but this makes me REALLY want Jeff to check out their dance covers, I think he'd love them (especially Malamente, Dolphin, and Savage!) not to mention if he checked out dOra maar's choreo ^_^
About strings. They showed in behind the scenes, that they had special gloves with "rulers" so they could roll it out any time they needed.
I’ve actually seen them doing that “cheat” thing on a couple of music shows when the cameras are placed like on the sides, you can actually see that Nine doesn’t touch Love, but I think that’s because music shows don’t allow this type of performances. In this practice and in the music videos I’m pretty sure it’s real

The other members on the side during the iconic thrust and stroke cheering was literally the cutest thing I have ever seen. Ski ship and comfortable relationship with each other is so pure. 😍🥰
The point about props is well made. There were a few performances where wrapping Nine's neck (immediately before the crotch grab) went awry and threw off the timing and led to substantial ad libs in the choreo. I think the choreography is smart because after these bits that emphasize the props - the leash and crotch grab bits - the spotlight moves off of those performers to allow them to fix things and reset their timing.
in an interview that dropped earlier today one of the members said that the first draft of the choreo was created by them and then with the help of their choreographer they ended up with this

these guys literally no cheating in that part kekkk the one who's being slapped (his name is Jisung) even said that on one of their music programs Wookjin (the one who slapping) did it so hard he was hurt in that area and now they can't stop joking about it lol i remember someone said that's why they slowed down a bit with their music program choreo cuz Love need a little rest Nines been wilding too much
They have really nice choreographies, I recomend checking out more from them aspecially: dOra maar, sage, Malamente(cover), savage( cover)

So the tape is actually in the gloves... like the whole tape... so all of them are wearing gloves on one hand if you noticed. It's in their behind the scenes mv.
This is how confident they are about their sexuality and not only that they're professional about their craft.. Besides Nine is freaking shameless when it comes to Love,he's habit seems teasing Love all the time which shows how close they are so their part don't shows any discomfort or awkward in it. It's quite captivating anyway especially when their personality are far away from this act 🤭
Friendly reminder the members choreographed themselves (and many of their own songs too), they take advice later and this is the final choreo. One of the members themselves said that the original choreo for libidO was more intense and this was more toned down.

Interestingly, on Music Bank, the "hand" was on the side but on Inkigayo, the SBS public show(!), the "hand" was spot on. Let me repeat that, the hand was spot on, as per the original choreography. Give it up for OOO, SBS and Inkigayo!
About the props: failure really happened once 😂 In one of the stages, on the part they use the tape together it didn't work for one member

Any chance at all of you reacting to any of their other songs, or even their cover dance practices? They are so so underrated, and their choreography is so good (Dora Maar, oh my word), I just want everyone to see them (the eternal lament of the small group stan...)
I don't think you will see this but I really hope you have checked out their other choreo also because these guys are incredible dancers and their choreo is ART

You should definitely check out their dance covers as well their other dance practices, a good recommendation is their Savage dance cover and Sage and dOra maar dance practice
I like they are breaking boundaries -- KPOP is great but break some of the norms and the world will be amazed.

Yeah that move is real he really went for it. I can say by watching some of the stages for multiple times and also the guilty pleasure version. It's hard to explain it but when he put his hand there and move it down, you can see the pressure on the fabric and also when he's moving down his hand and caressing him , his hand goes up and down as if he's touching some bump... yeah

I know saying this forever late but I've only seen the make one mistake on stage with the string LOVE's string got stuck on Nine's neck
"Tasteful" is the right word! I felt like watching a couple (poly?) and maybe I shouldn't because it's an intimate moment. They did the choreography and the song to make a point instead of for shock value or fetishization. More like a salsa vibe-wise. And I'm 90% sure that guy was wearing a cup, or at the very least should.
Since he's reacted to libido, i suggest he watches the solo series live performances

There were only about 2 shows that the choreo was really modified and those were the shows on public broadcast. Otherwise they went full out
