Just got mine today in the mail. I am going to say immediately these are the best headphones I have ever tried hands down. I bought Samsung buds 3 (not pro) about 45 days ago and they are straight ass compared to these. Before the buds I ordered Sony WH-CH720N and took one listen and returned them immediately. The lows are deep and the highs are very crisp. The equalizer isn't available yet but honestly I'm not even concerned they sound so good. My oonly critique would be they are heavy and bulky but honestly I would walk around with a trash can on my head all day in order to get this caliber of sound quality. $244 and worth every penny. I am not paid by heavys and have no other incentives other than my desire to share this wonderful piece of equipment with as many people as possible. Love these headphones and love you guys at "Heavys". Great job!
I think the biggest thing to take away is listen to every review with a grain of salt. I watch reviews but I ignore most of the recommendations. Wanna know why? They aren’t me. I don’t know how many things these “experts” have reviewed and said they weren’t any good and I actually loved the product. It’s ok to watch reviews but don’t let that be your deciding factor
Im a backer of these headphones and been using then for about 2 months now. I'm still internally accepting that at the moment I'm not enjoying the sound from them. Seems like the tweeters need to be turned way up. If I push them backwards on my ears so that the tweeters are closer to my ears they sound a lot better. However they then don't feel comfortable to wear. I'm hoping that the app will allow me to adjust speaker volume without adjusting EQ. Adjusting EQ and boosting highs by a lot at the moment resolves some sound issues but causes more issues with sound signature. I also agree with some of your statements, button clutter and smearing on the plastic. I have a small head so clamping force is not to bad. Fingers crossed for that app, I can always update here if they ever release it.
I've been paying attention to their website, where they've recently added a "Downloads" section at the bottom. The message on that page originally said the app would release at the end of 2023, and now it's saying Q1 of 2024. And their FAQ continues to change wording about what features will be in the app. Right now all it says is "enable the management of specific headphone features and incorporate some exciting new advancements in the near future" which is incredibly ambiguous. I may create a follow-up video if there's something to be excited about when the app comes out, but I still cannot recommend it at this time-especially with the price fluctuations I've seen from their website. It's just too expensive for the experience you're getting. -Dylan

I use the ultrasone DXP as my go-to headset for listening to metal music. The bass dive is excellent and grado headphones are easier to carry around and use elsewhere. Also, for custom metal headphones, there's NA2METAL, an in-ear earphone made in China by NF AUDIO(宁梵声学) in collaboration with melodic death metal band Die from sorrow(郁乐队), which is a pretty special kind of commercially available earphone because metal isn't as popular in China as it is elsewhere
It’s geared towards the live experience? I have never seen that mentioned, but I could’ve missed it. I have just heard they do the metal genre in general.
Yes, it’s a bit dizzying because the marketing and FAQ on their website is constantly changing. It’s not super emphasized now, but their kickstarter made mention of it. Thanks guys. I feel like you guys are the only ones describing this thing sound signature accurately. Bloated bass. The people here don't seem to understand audiophiles aren't into this kind of sound.
We've undoubtedly heard worse / more offensive-sounding headphones. We can only hope that they may revise the sound signature through an eventual firmware update, but as they stand right now, they're not worth the asking price. Not every metal listener is going to be an audiophile, but a lot of modern metal has fantastic production quality. Our opinions are through our own subjective lenses, but for us, HEAVYs just doesn't yet tastefully reproduce what modern metal production engineers are trying to share with the world.

I work in a data center where everyone talks to each other with headphones on cause it's easier to hear over the white noise. A lot of people don't take headphones off when talking to someone, ever been to a gym bro?
That's not what they're marketed towards. People usually include Zepplin, Floyd, and for some reason I hear a lot of Monkeys, in reviews for things like Sony or AKGs. These are not marketed to general audiences, though. Whether that's who actually would enjoy them doesn't matter because their main purpose is not to a make a thin, flabby snare from a Zepplin Album sound good.
This is literally more complaining then anything about every inch of the headphones. O my God there's a smer on them. That's a total world ending moment on them. Or oh my God you have to have 3 fingers on them just to turn the volume down. 😂 It's called take them off and press to pause! Or o my God it's to hard on my jaw line! I can't handle it for to long or I had to stretch them! It's called just don't wear them... Worst of the worst review I seen about this.... 😂😂😂😂
That's utter nonsense. I've been a metalhead for over 40 years, the production quality of metal songs varies greatly. On one end of the spectrum you have Metallica's Ride The Lightning which sounds like it was mixed in a phone booth. On the other end, you have Velvet Revolver. To claim "metal is not clean" is ridiculous.
Metal is very clean. That's like a large part of it. Being square and on time helps with aggressive hits. There are many parts that aren't, like the KoRn tone or the Sludginess of fat breakdowns, but the majority of metalheads strive for cleanliness to increase their aggression.

I mean, how could they not sound incredible? Unless you're trying to listen to gangsta rap on them. But that would probably sound great as well if eq'd properly. Just saying. Anyone that says these aren't good are either ignorant of the eqing options or haven't actually tried them and just trolling!
I work in a data center where everyone talks to each other with headphones on cause it's easier to hear over the white noise. A lot of people don't take headphones off when talking to someone, ever been to a gym bro?
Lmao thats the point you being up!? I cant watch any more.
Poor quality review
How about Led Zepplin or Pink Floyd? C'mon guys, include Classic Rock in you genius interpretations!!!
Those are rock not metal
its also called......just dont watch the review
Look here you puddle of mud fans here in the video, METAL IS NOT CLEAN❗ "a smudge☹️☹️☹️"
Grow a pair
It’s just a headphone, there’s really no need to get so upset over our criticism of it.
These dudes sound like they listen to Winger. Like two chicks.
