I think Robert's right. Canelo purposefully took the foot off the accelerator. He didn't want to crush Jaime. He's a good kid and hard working. Canelo appreciates him and didn't want to beat the soul out of him. He's gonna be back and a much better fighter too. Jaime showed in those early rounds what he could become.

Those early rounds showed that munguia is a beast. He had the right game plan but like robert sId. Canelo is just on another level. It was a fun fight but it started getting obvious that he wasnt going all out.

I was mad at Canelo for a while until I realized it's good he alowed his country man to make some money before going into a risky fight with Benavides.. I respect that.

He was using excellent defense, conserving energy well, and wasn't throwing every shot as hard as he could. He's an incredibly intelligent fighter
He was throwing combos the whole round, moving, ducking, head movement, footwork for 12 rounds and never sat on his stool while schooling Mungia the whole fight. Dude is DEFINITELY NOT on the decline!!

This is the first thing I said on the first video I saw after the fight
Two Hombres throwing chingasos in the middle of the ring. Real entertainment ,real gladiators ,not throwing a couple punches then run around throw a couple more punches and run around again. This is real fighting. also, there was no need for these two guys to talk shit to each other and be disrespectful talking about each other’s families talking about that they come from the hood and this and that. These two guys are both class acts they did not have to do all that foolishness to sell the fight.

I agree 100% with Mr. Garcia. In spite of Munguia's best effort to take the night, Canelo out classed him. I myself also saw Canelo, from my point of view, allow Munguia to stay on the saddle; and that's okay, the fight was in a sense the better for it... entertaining art of great boxing. It was made obvious hindsight that Munguia being an ascending top class fighter was yet premature for fighters of Canelo's caliber. A little more salt... almost Munguia, almost, you'll get their soon.
