This video was shot to let people know what they could do to the Sunray 109 camper as you can see in the video lots of modifications haven’t done the skies the limit as far as what you can do to this camper.
Good day to you! I am a grandpa rider on HONDA motorcycle from Japan. Enjoying camping ,touring and upload video. Your camper video is so nice! Awesome! Full supported ! Have a nice day my friend!
Wow that looks really nice it's pretty close to the same style my friend has. He's still working on his, I'm quite sure it'll turn out looking just as good as that one does. Good Job
No worries I’m trying to get a TH-cam page started as well but with the cold weather it’s been hard to get out to do anything but that will change soon. happy New Year’s
Intrigued by these 109 sports. But I've heard both good and very bad build quality from people who own them. The extra ground clearance you get in the sport version seems useful yet odd considering the axle and suspension are the same, I think, as the non sport version. Wish they would upgrade the suspension to fully change it to sport-like completely. Don't know if they've upgraded the axle weight rating wise because I've heard from some who say it is undersized/rated for the weight of the trailer. All the wood is a concern for both condensation and weight. Nevertheless the lay out and over all footprint are appealing. Seems a bit tight for 2 people but definitely do able. Spacious for one person for sure. Your mods are purposeful and well thought out. Thankyou so much for sharing. This little trailer has caught my eye and interest. Subscribing now and look forward to more of your experiences both good and bad with this trailer.
Thank you for your input. If you do decide to get one of these campers, you will not be disappointed. Everything works great on ours from the day we got it except for the refrigerator had nothing but problems with the refrigerator. That is why we are considering to change it out with a 12 V cooler.
Yes, there are a fair amount of quality issues from Sunray owners on the internet. Seems to be rampant in the rv industry. So it's reassuring that this owner is happy with his unit. There's hope yet!
Not really it is just where we lived at before we moved here there was a lot of stuff stolen that we had so we are always trying to avoid it from ever happening again that’s all. I am glad that you liked the video.
Is that the height and wheels from factory ? Sorry if I missed this answer. Overall do you like it ? Am looking at this, Coleman rubicon, and possibly jayco hummmingbird or the micro jay feather to to a camp for me my wife and son.
Very nice upgrades one thing I'd like to add you need to reapply black silicone around your brake lights I noticed that it's missing on over half and a little bit of water getting in that guy can cause alot of damage over time..
Enjoying your videos! Could you please tell me the width of the house part of the trailer? I can't seem to find this dimension, and the nearest dealer with one in stocks is a 2 hour drive from here. Thanks
Thank you, but I am trying to find the width of the trailer minus the fenders and tires. I have Been able to measure the width of the GeoPro 12SRK at 5'5" and the width of the jayco 12SRK @ 5'. The Jayco feels a bit to narrow. Have not seen the sunray in person yet.
Just the lights and the refrigerator also the thermostat and water heater. As far as the AC goes and the TV those have to runoff, electricity and not 12 volts
If anything, I lightened the tongue weight by moving the spare tire and the spare tire mount, bracket off the tongue also by moving the spare tire to the rear of the rig, transferred more weight towards the rear, and took it off the front as far as weight goes I am not sure, but the tongue boxes very lightweight
What are the dimensions of the cabinet where the microwave was? I am thinking about pulling that out and was wondering if a Camp Chef Versatop 14” would fit up there?
The one that I got they sell at Harbor freight they only sell two different styles. They sell a single wheel and a duel wheel. I got the duel wheel because it has a larger weight capacity.
I haven't been able to find out what the distance between the roof rails is. Anyone able to tell me that would be most appreciated. I want to see if I can mount a basket that I have up there.
Curious do you know the weight of your rig now with the options your added so far? My jeep has a 3500 lb towing capacity but I want to stay closer to 2500 Max.
@@wjsoc I mounted a piece of plywood on the wall where it specifies where the TV mount goes. Then I screwed my TV mount to the plywood so it would be more secure.
That is a shower rod that pops out. It came that way from the factory. You pulled two pens. It pops up and you could put a shower curtain on there to take a shower.
This video should be sent to Sunset Trailers! Great build.
Thank you

Thanks for sharing, Your modifications look good. I have to move the tire still, and we're looking at a 270 awning and walls.
You’re welcome glad that you liked them and I hope it helps in anyway for your rig.
What a fun rig! Thanks for sharing.

They should come from the factory the way you built it. Very nice
Thank you

Help, have a TV for the 109, but nervous to install. How did you do it and what size screws did you use. Thank you so much.
What information I'm looking for. Is it a plate or a stud that I am drilling into. Thanks
It is a stud but installed and plate that i mounted to the stud and then I mounted the tv to that
Thanks
Very nice upgrades one thing I'd like to add you need to reapply black silicone around your brake lights I noticed that it's missing on over half and a little bit of water getting in that guy can cause alot of damage over time..
Can you stand up inside? Thank you for this video.
Not in this camper it is only for sleeping
How did yoy mount the coat hook / rack? Was there a stud? Also wondering the length of screw used.
It was put on by the manufacturer it is for a shower curtain I did not put that on.
Enjoying your videos! Could you please tell me the width of the house part of the trailer? I can't seem to find this dimension, and the nearest dealer with one in stocks is a 2 hour drive from here. Thanks
The bed is 57x74 and the width of the camper is 7 feet

Was wondering if you had a link to you spare mounting bracket that you installed.
BAL 28240 Retract-A-Spare - 52" to 72" a.co/d/jcI8gLy
What size screws did you use for the small wooden storage slots you installed around the inside?
Yes and also small strips of double back tape.
does the solar two battery system run lights, and fridge, or is it 110. Why not a 12v tv?
Just the lights and the refrigerator also the thermostat and water heater. As far as the AC goes and the TV those have to runoff, electricity and not 12 volts
We just bought one and it comes with two metal brackets on driver side and was wondering what those were
If you could provide more information, I may be able to answer your question
On the driver's side toward the rear i see a tubular atructure hanging down. Does that flip up to support a shower enclosure?
Yes it does.
Looks like a very nice setup. I'm wondering if tongue weight is going to be an issue wirh two batteries and propane tank moved forward?
If anything, I lightened the tongue weight by moving the spare tire and the spare tire mount, bracket off the tongue also by moving the spare tire to the rear of the rig, transferred more weight towards the rear, and took it off the front as far as weight goes I am not sure, but the tongue boxes very lightweight
Hand tighten a threaded cap into your ball valve drain. It would be nice if you could fashion a lanyard to go with.
That USA map to the right of your door, where did you get that? Is it a decal or a stencil job?
We got it from Amazon it is a decal
@@lilfootadventures7474 Thanks for answering so quickly! What was the msrp on your trailer?

Where do I get the shower curtain rail for my 109
It was an option from the factory on that year of camper.
Where did you get the shower rod for the out side of your trailer if you didn’t mind
I was a option from the factory
What are the dimensions of the cabinet where the microwave was? I am thinking about pulling that out and was wondering if a Camp Chef Versatop 14” would fit up there?
22 x 14 inches

Hi,
Can you tell me how wide it is from outside to outside of the tires.
Thank you.
90 inches across
@@lilfootadventures7474 Thank you!
Is the refrigerator 12volt or 110 volts
The refrigerator that’s in the rig currently is a two-way refrigerator. It runs off 110 or propane.
Where did you get the loop for the shower? Did your unit come with that?
That is a option from the factory
What are the materials you used for the water tubes below?
It is a ball valve I am not sure on the size I just took one of the plugs to the store to Mach up the size

It was a factory item when I ordered the camper. They asked me if I wanted it.
Curious do you know the weight of your rig now with the options your added so far? My jeep has a 3500 lb towing capacity but I want to stay closer to 2500 Max.
I have never checked someday I will
2140 dry.
I tow my camper with a 2012 Nissan Xterra and I have no problems at all. I can’t even even feel it back there.
What size screws do you use when you screw something down?
1/4 inch but it also depends on the job that you’re doing and what you’re mounting
@@lilfootadventures7474 thank you. Lookin to do a tv mount for a small tv. But I definitely do not want to drill through the camper.
@@wjsoc I mounted a piece of plywood on the wall where it specifies where the TV mount goes. Then I screwed my TV mount to the plywood so it would be more secure.
what is that metal loop thing on the left side, toward the rear?
