Oh my gosh these kids. I had to smile cos I have a 3.5 yr old and she loves dresses and tried to wear them to school and she literally tells us things like “mommy you are the best” or “grandma you are the best” and we will be feeling special but have now learned that’s how she gets us to say yes 😂 lol

Ada biko, do not let your kids go out alone at this age. Wait till they are at least 11 or 12 (secondary school). There are creeps that pray on kids and also other kids can be dangerous (bullies) especially when no adult is about. For their bikes your best bet is Halfords. They will measure your kids and also assemble the bikes for you.

I work as a teacher in London, I think a tutor is good at least once a week just to consolidate what they are learning in school so they have an in depth understanding. Even for the children I teach who are greater depth they all have tutors outside of school.

With childcare in England, all 3&4 Year olds are eligible for the free 15hours per week childcare from the term after their 3rd Birthday. Your childcare provider is a preschool so they will offer it over at least 3days for you, some do offer 3hrs per day for 5days a week. They can also offer you additional hours which you will need to pay for. You do not need to apply for a code, you just need to ensure your childcare provider offers the free childcare. Then provide your details at registration and they will be the one to claim for the funding from the local council. The 30hrs childcare is the one that you need to apply for if you are eligible and your visa allows you access to public funds.

For bike , you can go to halfords we always get the kids bike from there .
My daughter has a Tutor but only 1 day a week , she is looking to sit for the 11+ exam so needs extra tuition , I'm not even stressing too much about it or putting pressure on her . If she gets in so be it , if not it's not a big deal for me .

Oh, and you're right! In school, there are "Sets"; kids are put in group s based on their abilities. So, a child may be in the top set for Maths but in a mid or low set for Reading. Especially for Maths, those in higher sets are taken out of the class for their lessons.
Think about what your aspirations are for the kids with regards to secondary school. If you intend for them to attend a Grammar school, then could benefit from attending tutorials in order to get the grades required to enter the school - it is very competitive. It does sound like the kids don't require much support though.

You don't need to apply. Since she is 3 years old. It is automatic, the school will apply directly to the govt. The school will give you all the required documentation you need. You just need to fill out the form and submit it. 2 of my kids goes full time in Nursery. My first just turned 3 in February, so i am aware of the current process. Childcare is really expensive, but there is nothing we can do. Just know they don't teach them in nursery, they just play and do sensory activities. It will be good for her to socialise too. They start teaching them properly when they start normal school at 4. I am happy to clarify, if you have further questions.
Halford sells bicycles, my daughter started lessons at year 3 to prepare her for year 6 sat, just 2 days one hour for each day.

I applied for my daughter and son’s 15 hours through my local council. I think your daughter might be entitled to 30 hours free childcare for working parents from 3/4 years old. With 15 hours it is universal and does not go by income criteria. To apply for 15 hours it is done through the childcare choices website. I actually applied through my council website under education and gave the nursery my childcare code.
Please make sure you meet all the criteria for 30 hours free childcare or any child benefit for that matter. You must have your ILR to be able to claim the 30hours for 3 years old because it is classed as public funds. We should always be mindful that visa comes with a condition " not entitled to public funds". Always be careful before taking any govt benefit. Most times, they won't tell you, and you get in trouble when you do apply for your ILR. Go to govt website and read the conditions thoroughly.

Hi Adaeze. For my kids, the nursery they attend gave me a form to complete, which they then submitted on my behalf. They did the same for all parents whose kids already attended the nursery.
For children who are over 3yrs and eligible, they get 30 free hours (it's 15 free hours if you earn below a certain threshold). So, please check so that you're not missing out. Note that many nurseries say that one day equates to 10 hours, which means that 30 hours is 3 full days. Some mums and dads are creative and spread the allowance into full and half days so that kids go every day.
Currently, kids over 2 years old are entitled to 15 free hours (if you're eligible). Again, some families split attendance into half days so that the kids can go in 3 half days.
One other thing to note is that there is an upper threshold which means that if you earn over a certain amount, your child won't be eligible for the free hours.
One last thing, there is something called tax-free childcare. This is where the government contributes up to 20% of your childcare cost. If you're eligible for the 15 or 30 free hours, you're likely to be eligible for that.

Mommys' we try our best to help our kids with homework and keep up with school work. Sure, sometimes its too much since they even get tired. Yesterday my girl was so tired she just wanted to sleep.

My advice would be that they don’t need extra lessons at this age. However you can introduce them to KUMON, which is really good in giving them confidence in numbers! Otherwise let them enjoy their childhood. 😊

Check to see if you Halfords around you for bicycles (kids and adults). They are young to be let out alone. I don’t allow my 10years daughter go out alone sha. You could use extra lesson teacher time to enrol them for extra curricular things like musical instrument, swimming, ballet etc they value talents here

But, d fact is - they r already performing exceedingly great.
IMO, it should be d kids who ‘struggle’ in school who need Kumon enrolledment or support. I think it is a spectrum. I know - becos I have a kid was in both extremes. Initially struggled in school @ age 7, started Kumon n completed both subjects b4 age 12.

@lifewithzoe9468 I do not agree with that, kumon is not for struggling kids. it's a model way of learning. It's an Asian thing,and it's by repeating over and over again for you to master the skill. All my children did Kumon for 6 years. They start in grade 1 and finish in grade 6. It paid off.

Personally, I never did lesson teachers. School and after school homework was enough. Let them do extracurricular sports so that it is not all book book. So that it will build them teamwork ability. That helped my girls a lot. Also consider your neighborhood.

Have you thought about hay-fever? Your throat problem and hoarseness could be due to an allergy. It's hay-fever season now. All you may need is an antihistamine. Check it out.

If it's a hayfever allergy you can lessen the effects but you can't prevent it. I'm prescribed all year round antihistamines because I suffer from hay-fever and I am asthmatic. You can get over the counter medication from your pharmacy/chemist. Just explain your symptoms to him or her. You can get relief if it is hayfever. Good luck
