@@jppacis Sorry for the very late reply (2 years), but when downloading totally legal software, ALWAYS save your installers. Saving the link's not enough, it's gonna get taken down sooner or later. Save the installers for your Jack Sparrow software. Buy a portable hard drive and store it there. Never lose a definitely legit software after reformating and stuff like that.
Owning legit versions does feel good. It's great to feel like you're part of a supportive community & helping devs get paid. But maybe coming up with a thousand bucks for that newest DAW isn't so easy. Maybe times are tough & a guy can barely afford to pay his rego, never mind forking out hundreds of dollars for plugins that don't earn him any income. Maybe a guy has a family & kids to support. Maybe his wife wants to know why he needs version 10 when he already has 8. Now I'm one of the lucky ones & was able to buy my first DAW in the box years ago. I received free updates & purchased the odd plugin here & there to augment my collection. But I understand why some people less fortunate are tempted by free plugins. Especially when they are so easily available. But always pay for what you can afford. Devs sometimes struggle to pay the bills as well. Remember that.
Like he said, you can use Splice for Rent to Own on a DAW. And if you cancel the monthly sub they don't cancel your progress to paying it off. Times have changed since back in the day when a DAW and plugins cost an arm and a leg. Plus it comes with more than enough in the box to make any track.

A certain peace of mind comes from knowing that I have invested in myself and my craft. I own my DAW, gear and all of my plugins and I love knowing that I have full stability & support with everything. That sense of ownership really helps in wanting to invest time into learning the software as well. It takes time but with all of the freebies & plugin deals offered these days a legit plugin collection will grow over time. Support the companies in the same way you would want to be supported yourself.

I just started buying plugins and vi around a year ago. And I got to say, it feels really good owning your tools. I am making money producing and mixing for a while, it was long overdue for me to give back to the developers. I started one at a time and getting to know and great with each buy.
Also lack of creativity. Not tryna be a dick, but he said he had the clean guitar sample, which is PERFECT! And you can still recreate the levels of distortion required by the ad organisation. Blows my mind.
Cracked plugins is how I learned which plugins are actually better/preferred and which are snake oil or not for me. When I have money to build a new dedicated workstation rig, you can bet I'll be cleaning the slate and buying the best instead of hoarding a bunch of stuff I don't need.

the problem isn't with using cracked plugins or DAWs.. it's with properly organising and saving your projects. you should be able to recreate beats you've previously made using the same plugins and software-cracked or legit. The problem with getting comfortable with downloading cracked software is that people will start thinking they need hundreds of plugins to get the sound they are looking for.. in no time your daw will be overflowing with plugins that arent being fully utilized. when you're buying plugins or downloading ones that are sometimes free promo's, you will tend to take more care to learn all of their features and make use of them in different ways to get the right sounds. just make sure you keep your work organized so that you don't have the problem this guy had. I see paid for the software in the first place, he would have had the same problem when trying to edit a 2-year-old project.
That doesn't all his problems though. As he said, he had to remove distortion from a part but lacked the plugin to get the same tone. Bouncing out stems is great advice but it's also completely destructive in terms of pipeline, there's no going back to dry. Totally agree with not getting every plugin though. While it's great to have a few flavours of compression and EQ, almost everything else (maybe bar reverb) is gonna be fairly interchangeable.

I have many fragments that I never continued with because I wasn't satisfied with them. But lets just take Cakewalk. It's a fully featured DAW, and you can do anything with it from simple stuff all the way up to complex arrangements. Thats down to your skill and perseverance. Y'know, a bit of work. It may not be the best for EDM/Hiphop or general dance styles, but then that's not really my area of interest. But I'll bet you can do it, if you can be bothered to learn all that Cakewalk could do. As with all these DAW/Plugins, they will do all sorts of amazing things, and that's down to you to learn how to use them properly.
Me either, I'm paying for every thing through my Tuition. If you know what you're doing, you don't need an expensive DAW, or Serum. There are affordable DAW's AND free VST's. (Mixcraft 9 is great. FREE: Reaper, and Vital, and Pigments!~) Pro-Tools and Serum don't make you a good producer. Learn the basics of synthesis and design your own sounds.

I used to crack all my software. Ended up having all the plugs and unable to master any of them. I'm not even talking about the viruses, blue screens, bugs etc... Took me years to understand. I stopped, cleaned everything that was cracked and started buying legit software. Changed my mindset completely. Learned about concepts of music and mixing. Learned how to use what I bought and started to realize that you actually don't need a lot of different vsts clogging up your PC. You just need to know what you're doing and can pretty much accomplish it even with free vsts. If you're serious about music, buy. That's the best and quickest way to beginning to understand and change your mindset. Plus, there's deals and discounts everywhere now.

Thank you for being so honest and real. It is actually really hard in the beginning for creatives to have to buy all these expensive plugins, so its so tempting to just download cracked versions. You've video has really helped open my eyes to the consequences of doing this though, in those times were I was temped. Massive respect for you :)

Dude,.. save the preset under a different name as a user preset,... done!! as for bouncing to stems and then manipulatoing the sound??? doesn't work that way
I recommend 1. Saving the project as a new name to preserve the MIDI project. 2. On the saved as project, Convert MIDI to little waves pieces within a project to stick to the Grid. 3. Record with your effects to free CPU or without FX for future flexibility. This is no big deal really, except for speed and pitch which gets a bit limited afterwards but only on your saved as WAVE project. I posted a whole process on a article at www.lment.co.za
This is impossible for third world producers where a single plugin can be half of a person's salary. If you use cracked plugins in the US ,where it's like less than a day of payment, then you're a deadbeat.
Omnisphere costs 2,5k reais in Brazil. That's above a middle class person's salary here. I know it's wrong but I'll never pay for it unless I start earning a good amount of money through music production, like... It's impossible to pay for it in the current situation
Music is not only about having tons of plugins or VSTs actually. It's about creativity. I bought fl studio and mainly using the stock plugins and i think they are really good. I have even sold beats that i made with stock plugins.
Yeah man its unrealistic for people to pay the thousands these softwares cost to maybe not end up liking it, but if you get really good and become a professional it would be sleezy to not buy it later down the road.
A way to mitigate these compatibility issues is to create a virtual machine with the same OS you used to use and with all the old cracked plugins. It could be tedious to create and you'll run into some challenges, but once the virtual machine image is created you'll be able to go back to it whenever you run into these type issues. One free solution to this is called VirtualBox.
When your a teenager it makes sense, but when your grown it's time to believe and invest in yourself. Good plug-ins are super affordable now and a lot of the expensive plug-ins you can do payment plans now. But no shade because most of us have done it at some point.
@@andyjordahl8806 - Well the majority are free ones and from the FL Studio Signature bundle, and a few are paid which I did in parts not all at once, I know what you mean it can add up, but if you do it bit by bit as the budget allows it can be done it just takes more time.
Also, another good habit is to buy an ssd and dedicate that to storing your plugins, installs and sample packs, not necessarily cracks but every time you move to a new PC then you have all your stuff on one storage.
That's great advice! However, be careful because most plugins recommend installing on your local hard drive to avoid issues... Librairies from those plugins can be on external drives. Keep an eye on that.
To be honest dude, this doesn't just happen with cracked plugins. Plenty of companies who shall remain unnamed update their plugins and things have changed. Presets don't work the same or don't load the same way. I have had this happen with some major plugin companies on major projects of major clients. I have had to open and adjust for sync music placements or re-releases of older tracks or to bounce stems for remixes etc. It hurts even more when you have laid out 1000s of bucks on legitimate plugins and DSP hardware and they don't reload old projects a few years later, trust me. You can obviously learn how the plugin works even without buying it but... how many plugins have we downloaded without even knowing what they actually do or what they're capable of? lol literally the exact same thing happened to me with plugins that I spent hundreds of euros on. buying plugins won't fix being lazy when you setup a new studio computer.
It literally took you a week to try to recreate a sound and you couldn't even get close? That's kind of on you. You should learn to use the tools that you do have instead of cracking all the new hot plugins that are overhyped by companies/top producers. If you had taken the time to learn about synthesis and guitar sounds, it wouldn't take you more than a couple of hours to recreate all of that.
I studied sound design in my younger years. (back in the 80's) It's a sport to recreate sounds on synths that were not used on original recordings, but I succeed for 75-95% ! :-))
This had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with using cracked plugins whatsoever! This has to do with keeping old versions of plugins to open old projects. Dude, all you had to do was install the legacy installer. WTF?! Were you that clueless? Moral of the story, always keep old installers and versions. This is why I love Izotope. If you upgrade with them, you can still install and use the previous version. Same with Waves. Also, you never lost money. You had to gain something first in order to lose it. What happened is that you missed out.
Talking about Guitar Rig: a long time ago I bought Guitar Rig 2 (within Komplete). I bought every update of Komplete until Guitar Rig 5. Since Native is cluttering the system with GBs of samples and software, I used to uninstall older versions. One day I needed to remix some traks that I used Guitar Rig 4 for. Problem: Guitar Rig 5 could not read settings for Guitar Rig 4. Therefore I reinstalled Guitar Rig 4. But also after that, my daw was not able to read the old Guitar Rig 4 presets. Same thing with Guitar Rig 2 and 3 settings. This means, I paid all the updates legally but my settings are lost. It's not only a problem of cracked plugins but also of regularly bought software. This is why I will NOT buy Komplete including Guitar Rig 6. I have a lot of stuff which I used Guitar Rig 5 for and I don't want to lose these settings.
I've bought/used cracked versions before because it's my hobby that I rarely have time for and I'm not shelling out $400 for a license to use a reverb module. I couldn't imagine making money off the music I make and not owning legit versions. I've done drafting and the license for AutoCad was expensive. I now do physical work and I can't imagine stealing tools do the work I get paid for.
Recall is always a hassle. That goes for legal software as well, I’ve had sessions not recall because my VSTi that I paid dollars for years before simply didn’t have support anymore... this is the reason you print stuff in stems for archiving... always. Print or at least freeze tracks and you won’t have these problems anymore.

No. We don’t all do it. There is open source / free software out there to get anybody started. Reaper can be used for free. There are free sample packs and synths. It’s not even necessary to use cracked software. The restraint simply forces creativity while inspiring passion, whereas diving for cracked software shows a lack of creativity and exposes weakness, while also being more hassle than what it is worth. Also, in my experience, our peers who take this seriously, wont take someone seriously who steals their software. So there are major drawbacks for choosing that path for sure. It’s like setting yourself up for failure when, if you use open source and free stuff, and spend your money wisely on an honorable path, that comes with a major respect and those same people will be interested and open to work with you. Being honest may be the more difficult choice in the moment, but it is the most rewarding in the long term. So if you take this seriously and believe in yourself, then invest in yourself. Apart from earning peanuts everything you buy is heavily taxed, especially technology where you would pay 3 times the price of what it’d cost you in the USA. I will make a pack that is fully cracked full of plugins, so if someone wants to try out making music they can start out with proper tools and they don't have to mess around with default plugins.
My plugin collection is massive (over 3TB's) because I never delete old versions - I archive them on my server (backed up on LTO5 tape using LTFS) and store copies of the plugins/presets along with each project folder.
Just be careful with FL Studio. Their license agreement states that if you used a cracked version and make money, they own the licenses (and therefore all royalties) to whatever you made using it. In this case it doesn't matter even if you can recreate anything, because in the court of law, they have the legal right to what you made. But this isn't unique to Image-Line; if you steal and crack in the music industry, someone will come after you at some point. It's a very serious offense. Also, when you install a cracked plugin, install it in a VM, then copy the resulting files/VST instrument. Make sure to check registry as well as sometimes that's required to work. STILL scan the resulting VST and files with virustotal for malware and junk, but USUALLY they are fine and it was only the installer that installs malware / cryptominers. The fact that you used a VM means that since once you installed the program, it installed malware / miners / whatever junk, but it doesn't matter cause you'll be deleting your VM after anyways. P.S. I don't condone piracy. Don't do it. FL has a free, unlimited, 100% unlocked trial you can use. If you pirate DAW's and plugins, you open yourself up to viruses and other issues which aren't in the actual product (incompatibility, bugs which shouldn't exist, problems with past compatibility with projects, etc).
That would make sense … FL Studio is the most Cheapest DAW you could ever buy so they probably benefit from it another way … Just for the people who did not get it … You actually only pay once for it because of the lifetime free updates … so if you bought it back in 1998 (v1.0.0) you would currently be running v20.9.2 without having spent any extra money on it (Just a site note … in the past anything that is higher than the Producer Edition will get an upgrade to the Producer Edition with the plugins that were in the bundle you already have … however I am not sure how they would do this these days) Also the upgrade to a higher edition would cost you the same as the price difference between the version you have and the version you want to upgrade to

To all these people complaining about a client’s request to change something about a track; that IS exactly how it works. And if you’re a pro you alter it/change it/try to make a client happy. It’s not like he’s writing his own magnum opus that he has an emotional connection to or something like that. Then that might be a different story. Just bought FL Studio (Producer Edition) and downloaded a cracked version of serum. Now i bought a few presets for serum but when i want to start them it tells me that serum needs an update for the presets.... Can i Update my Cracked Serum somehow (Without really buying it ) I will buy it... when i make my first Dollar with it.
Download the updated Serum vst from splice, open the patch to see the settings and either export wav files of the sounds you want or copy the settings to recreate the sound unless you're making dubstep or bass music. Downloading bass patches is a huge waste for both since the end result is mostly in the racks / "processing" used.
The irony is, if you paid monthly for a certain plugin you stopped using 4 years ago, you can be in similar situation like with cracked plugin you deleted.
I mean these are common problems that can happen to anyone whether you use cracked Plugins or not. Many of us didn't properly save and backup a lot of our earlier works project files and would be screwed of someone asked for modifications on those. Sometimes we also switch gear or programs we use. All sorts of things can screw up a deal. 8ts just part of the game really as with any business. We make mistakes and try to learn from them. Great video though. I myself never used cracked Plugins. But I used to use demos all the time which has its own set of problems.

In Brazil it is impossible to buy plugins. They are sold in Brazil in Dollars and Euros. The Brazilian currency according to the current quotation makes plugins 5 times more expensive. A $250 plugin, for example, costs a month's salary in Brazil.
The same in South Africa. We also have a 'Monopoly' currency.

Save the installers for your Jack Sparrow software. Buy a portable hard drive and store it there. Never lose a definitely legit software after reformating and stuff like that.

Owning legit versions does feel good. It's great to feel like you're part of a supportive community & helping devs get paid. But maybe coming up with a thousand bucks for that newest DAW isn't so easy. Maybe times are tough & a guy can barely afford to pay his rego, never mind forking out hundreds of dollars for plugins that don't earn him any income. Maybe a guy has a family & kids to support. Maybe his wife wants to know why he needs version 10 when he already has 8. Now I'm one of the lucky ones & was able to buy my first DAW in the box years ago. I received free updates & purchased the odd plugin here & there to augment my collection. But I understand why some people less fortunate are tempted by free plugins. Especially when they are so easily available. But always pay for what you can afford. Devs sometimes struggle to pay the bills as well. Remember that.
Like he said, you can use Splice for Rent to Own on a DAW. And if you cancel the monthly sub they don't cancel your progress to paying it off. Times have changed since back in the day when a DAW and plugins cost an arm and a leg. Plus it comes with more than enough in the box to make any track.
Just save the cracked VSTs of all your projects in cloud or something. Buy DAWs and VSTs when your business is at good point. I'm sorry Eric, but you're just a newbie. The problem is not buying VSTs, here we are talking about organizing your work and your files well.

A certain peace of mind comes from knowing that I have invested in myself and my craft. I own my DAW, gear and all of my plugins and I love knowing that I have full stability & support with everything. That sense of ownership really helps in wanting to invest time into learning the software as well. It takes time but with all of the freebies & plugin deals offered these days a legit plugin collection will grow over time. Support the companies in the same way you would want to be supported yourself.

I just started buying plugins and vi around a year ago. And I got to say, it feels really good owning your tools. I am making money producing and mixing for a while, it was long overdue for me to give back to the developers. I started one at a time and getting to know and great with each buy.

Cracked plugins is how I learned which plugins are actually better/preferred and which are snake oil or not for me. When I have money to build a new dedicated workstation rig, you can bet I'll be cleaning the slate and buying the best instead of hoarding a bunch of stuff I don't need.

the problem isn't with using cracked plugins or DAWs.. it's with properly organising and saving your projects. you should be able to recreate beats you've previously made using the same plugins and software-cracked or legit. The problem with getting comfortable with downloading cracked software is that people will start thinking they need hundreds of plugins to get the sound they are looking for.. in no time your daw will be overflowing with plugins that arent being fully utilized. when you're buying plugins or downloading ones that are sometimes free promo's, you will tend to take more care to learn all of their features and make use of them in different ways to get the right sounds. just make sure you keep your work organized so that you don't have the problem this guy had. I see paid for the software in the first place, he would have had the same problem when trying to edit a 2-year-old project.

That doesn't all his problems though. As he said, he had to remove distortion from a part but lacked the plugin to get the same tone. Bouncing out stems is great advice but it's also completely destructive in terms of pipeline, there's no going back to dry. Totally agree with not getting every plugin though. While it's great to have a few flavours of compression and EQ, almost everything else (maybe bar reverb) is gonna be fairly interchangeable.

But lets just take Cakewalk. It's a fully featured DAW, and you can do anything with it from simple stuff all the way up to complex arrangements. Thats down to your skill and perseverance. Y'know, a bit of work. It may not be the best for EDM/Hiphop or general dance styles, but then that's not really my area of interest. But I'll bet you can do it, if you can be bothered to learn all that Cakewalk could do.
As with all these DAW/Plugins, they will do all sorts of amazing things, and that's down to you to learn how to use them properly.

Me either, I'm paying for every thing through my Tuition. If you know what you're doing, you don't need an expensive DAW, or Serum. There are affordable DAW's AND free VST's. (Mixcraft 9 is great. FREE: Reaper, and Vital, and Pigments!~) Pro-Tools and Serum don't make you a good producer. Learn the basics of synthesis and design your own sounds.

I used to crack all my software. Ended up having all the plugs and unable to master any of them. I'm not even talking about the viruses, blue screens, bugs etc... Took me years to understand.
I stopped, cleaned everything that was cracked and started buying legit software.
Changed my mindset completely. Learned about concepts of music and mixing. Learned how to use what I bought and started to realize that you actually don't need a lot of different vsts clogging up your PC. You just need to know what you're doing and can pretty much accomplish it even with free vsts.
If you're serious about music, buy. That's the best and quickest way to beginning to understand and change your mindset. Plus, there's deals and discounts everywhere now.
There is really no need for cracked versions of paid plugins, when there are so many great free alternatives around.

I recommend
1. Saving the project as a new name to preserve the MIDI project.
2. On the saved as project, Convert MIDI to little waves pieces within a project to stick to the Grid.
3. Record with your effects to free CPU or without FX for future flexibility.
This is no big deal really, except for speed and pitch which gets a bit limited afterwards but only on your saved as WAVE project.

The key is to ALWAYS bounce individual track stems, one dry and one processed. You never know who may pick up your music years down the line.

A way to mitigate these compatibility issues is to create a virtual machine with the same OS you used to use and with all the old cracked plugins. It could be tedious to create and you'll run into some challenges, but once the virtual machine image is created you'll be able to go back to it whenever you run into these type issues. One free solution to this is called VirtualBox.

Also, another good habit is to buy an ssd and dedicate that to storing your plugins, installs and sample packs, not necessarily cracks but every time you move to a new PC then you have all your stuff on one storage.
That's great advice! However, be careful because most plugins recommend installing on your local hard drive to avoid issues... Librairies from those plugins can be on external drives. Keep an eye on that.
To be honest dude, this doesn't just happen with cracked plugins. Plenty of companies who shall remain unnamed update their plugins and things have changed. Presets don't work the same or don't load the same way. I have had this happen with some major plugin companies on major projects of major clients. I have had to open and adjust for sync music placements or re-releases of older tracks or to bounce stems for remixes etc. It hurts even more when you have laid out 1000s of bucks on legitimate plugins and DSP hardware and they don't reload old projects a few years later, trust me. It literally took you a week to try to recreate a sound and you couldn't even get close? That's kind of on you. You should learn to use the tools that you do have instead of cracking all the new hot plugins that are overhyped by companies/top producers. If you had taken the time to learn about synthesis and guitar sounds, it wouldn't take you more than a couple of hours to recreate all of that.
I studied sound design in my younger years. (back in the 80's) It's a sport to recreate sounds on synths that were not used on original recordings, but I succeed for 75-95% ! :-))
This had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with using cracked plugins whatsoever! This has to do with keeping old versions of plugins to open old projects. Dude, all you had to do was install the legacy installer. WTF?! Were you that clueless? Moral of the story, always keep old installers and versions. This is why I love Izotope. If you upgrade with them, you can still install and use the previous version. Same with Waves. Also, you never lost money. You had to gain something first in order to lose it. What happened is that you missed out.

Talking about Guitar Rig: a long time ago I bought Guitar Rig 2 (within Komplete). I bought every update of Komplete until Guitar Rig 5. Since Native is cluttering the system with GBs of samples and software, I used to uninstall older versions. One day I needed to remix some traks that I used Guitar Rig 4 for. Problem: Guitar Rig 5 could not read settings for Guitar Rig 4. Therefore I reinstalled Guitar Rig 4. But also after that, my daw was not able to read the old Guitar Rig 4 presets. Same thing with Guitar Rig 2 and 3 settings. This means, I paid all the updates legally but my settings are lost. It's not only a problem of cracked plugins but also of regularly bought software. This is why I will NOT buy Komplete including Guitar Rig 6. I have a lot of stuff which I used Guitar Rig 5 for and I don't want to lose these settings.

I've bought/used cracked versions before because it's my hobby that I rarely have time for and I'm not shelling out $400 for a license to use a reverb module. I couldn't imagine making money off the music I make and not owning legit versions. I've done drafting and the license for AutoCad was expensive. I now do physical work and I can't imagine stealing tools do the work I get paid for.

Recall is always a hassle. That goes for legal software as well, I’ve had sessions not recall because my VSTi that I paid dollars for years before simply didn’t have support anymore... this is the reason you print stuff in stems for archiving... always. Print or at least freeze tracks and you won’t have these problems anymore.

There is open source / free software out there to get anybody started. Reaper can be used for free. There are free sample packs and synths. It’s not even necessary to use cracked software. The restraint simply forces creativity while inspiring passion, whereas diving for cracked software shows a lack of creativity and exposes weakness, while also being more hassle than what it is worth.
Also, in my experience, our peers who take this seriously, wont take someone seriously who steals their software. So there are major drawbacks for choosing that path for sure. It’s like setting yourself up for failure when, if you use open source and free stuff, and spend your money wisely on an honorable path, that comes with a major respect and those same people will be interested and open to work with you. I get the idea that you lost the chance to gain 1000$ because of cracked plugins, but without those cracked plugins that possibility wouldn't have even existed
Also, a plugin pack like ozone's full bundle costs 1000$ by itself so
Example 1: lost money due to shit workflow and data management, not cracked anything. Example 2: exactly the same situation, only with hindsight not taken advantage of. This has nothing to do with cracked plugins
I think if you paid for a software and you want a offline copy just in case something messes or the companies servers go bye bye cracks are actually more for the consumer and some software that requires a internet connection at all times cares more about if you are using cracked software than the consumer that paid
Idk, when I first started I had no desire to get cracked software. Mainly because I respect my computer too much to download malware lol.
But also I respect developers and their time. I have much pride knowing that all my tools are paid and I own my work 🤷🏻♀️

I just found out this kind of logic:
1. When I steal a physical thing, the seller/owner will lose that thing and will make it again and take some time.
2. When I steal a virtual thing. The owner wouldn't worry that much since it is online and any people aroung the world can buy it. Plus, the software can be copied easily since it is Virtual and TECHNOLOGY is related to it. It's not like you have to work hard again to reproduce a product.
P.S. You get arrested for distributing the software (if the publisher wanted to) and not for downloading a crack for it. An example is "Aptoide". The owner of that app got arrested but the people who still download cracked apps are not arrested.

SgtPapaz It comes down to... if I could get something for free why would I pay for it? Obviously the smart person would chose to get it for free because they aren’t a self righteous asshole.
My monthly income is around 200 dollars. I live in South America. Apart from earning peanuts everything you buy is heavily taxed, especially technology where you would pay 3 times the price of what it’d cost you in the USA. If it weren’t for free tutorials on TH-cam and cracked plugins my life would be even more miserable. I wish I‘d be able to buy them one day.
I will make a pack that is fully cracked full of plugins, so if someone wants to try out making music they can start out with proper tools and they don't have to mess around with default plugins.

Solution would be just to save all the cracked software somewhere so you could reinstall it if you need it along side with saves.
My plugin collection is massive (over 3TB's) because I never delete old versions - I archive them on my server (backed up on LTO5 tape using LTFS) and store copies of the plugins/presets along with each project folder.

Just be careful with FL Studio. Their license agreement states that if you used a cracked version and make money, they own the licenses (and therefore all royalties) to whatever you made using it. In this case it doesn't matter even if you can recreate anything, because in the court of law, they have the legal right to what you made. But this isn't unique to Image-Line; if you steal and crack in the music industry, someone will come after you at some point. It's a very serious offense.
Also, when you install a cracked plugin, install it in a VM, then copy the resulting files/VST instrument. Make sure to check registry as well as sometimes that's required to work. STILL scan the resulting VST and files with virustotal for malware and junk, but USUALLY they are fine and it was only the installer that installs malware / cryptominers. The fact that you used a VM means that since once you installed the program, it installed malware / miners / whatever junk, but it doesn't matter cause you'll be deleting your VM after anyways.
P.S. I don't condone piracy. Don't do it. FL has a free, unlimited, 100% unlocked trial you can use. If you pirate DAW's and plugins, you open yourself up to viruses and other issues which aren't in the actual product (incompatibility, bugs which shouldn't exist, problems with past compatibility with projects, etc).

You actually only pay once for it because of the lifetime free updates … so if you bought it back in 1998 (v1.0.0) you would currently be running v20.9.2 without having spent any extra money on it
(Just a site note … in the past anything that is higher than the Producer Edition will get an upgrade to the Producer Edition with the plugins that were in the bundle you already have … however I am not sure how they would do this these days)
Also the upgrade to a higher edition would cost you the same as the price difference between the version you have and the version you want to upgrade to

It's dangerous (viruses), buggy (you'll get issues you don't get in the official product), has compatibility issues (you may lose that exact cracked version, then your old amazing project never works again), and other issues.
I myself own FL, and it's worth the price, especially with Free updates. As for plugins, Vital is the best free synth which is like Serum. Check it out!

As far as I know, in practice, this is not really the case. This is just legal stuff to cover themselves. For the first point, not many people actually make it big enough to actually encounter this problem, and two, they could've bought it easily by that point which would've entirely eliminated the problem.
It's this way in every other way in the music industry and this is in absolutely no way unique to Image-Line. For example, if you steal samples, the sample maker is entitled to royalties (and maybe worse) and potentially even court fines because you stole it. Other companies, artists, sample makers, record labels, etc, CAN and WILL take you to the cleaners if you steal and make it big.

IL actually is really good to their customers. The devs and CEO themselves will personally respond to you even (I've talked to them before). Great people. FL is worth buying, and I'm proud to own a legitimate copy of it myself.

To all these people complaining about a client’s request to change something about a track; that IS exactly how it works. And if you’re a pro you alter it/change it/try to make a client happy. It’s not like he’s writing his own magnum opus that he has an emotional connection to or something like that. Then that might be a different story. But in the scoring/licensing business, versatility is key.

Just bought FL Studio (Producer Edition) and downloaded a cracked version of serum. Now i bought a few presets for serum but when i want to start them it tells me that serum needs an update for the presets.... Can i Update my Cracked Serum somehow (Without really buying it )

Download the updated Serum vst from splice, open the patch to see the settings and either export wav files of the sounds you want or copy the settings to recreate the sound unless you're making dubstep or bass music. Downloading bass patches is a huge waste for both since the end result is mostly in the racks / "processing" used.
I at least saved myself from paying minimum 1000$ for all tools I ever cracked
The irony is, if you paid monthly for a certain plugin you stopped using 4 years ago, you can be in similar situation like with cracked plugin you deleted.
I mean these are common problems that can happen to anyone whether you use cracked Plugins or not. Many of us didn't properly save and backup a lot of our earlier works project files and would be screwed of someone asked for modifications on those. Sometimes we also switch gear or programs we use. All sorts of things can screw up a deal. 8ts just part of the game really as with any business. We make mistakes and try to learn from them. Great video though. I myself never used cracked Plugins. But I used to use demos all the time which has its own set of problems.
