Interesting subject, I'm one of the lucky ones that have been here over 40 years and I can honestly say I have never been discriminated against. When my Great Uncle got here in the late 1940s, it was in the mist of the White Australia Policy, initially he was only allowed to work in Chinatown, over time he went out into the greater Australian Community, worked with many Australians and worked for the local community by the time of his death in the late 1960s he was a very well respected member of his local community and respected by many Australians. If he can overcome that back more than 50 years ago, I'm sure we can do it now.
3500Km Shopping trip? So next time your HKG friends complain about going to the next district to go shopping, you can tell them you go 3500Km to do your grocery shopping. :)

視乎你申請那一種visa，技術移民是很困難；如果投資移民仍有機會，因為投資移民的年齡上限是55歲

香港歧視人其實嚴重過澳洲，祇不過你不是被歧視果個，你去問吓D菲律賓，南亞裔同廣東話吾正的新移民有冇被香港人歧視
