    I am not a tech person, but I am determined to try and fix things before giving up and recycling equipment. I had the same issue on my same laptop. I replaced the charger and the i/o board to no avail before finding this vid today. I did the same little cleanup and now my laptop started up and is back in perfect working order. BAM! Thank you! Now I can hold off for another six months or so to buy an M2 MacBook Air. Grazie, grazie!

I was about to buy a charging port 😭 and after months of searching and resetting, I found this video! Thanks A lot. I don’t wanna use a Chromebook nomore lmao

    This is a typical half baked repair, you mentioned Louis who melts those connectors immediately off the board because the corrosion with these connectors continues on, but instead of doing exactly the same you brush it mildly off with a toothbrush, so this issue will come back three months later...you did not even conformal coat it, only amateurs at home would do it like this.

      I know a chap who was developing a cheap set of break out cables for connecting common programmers to the JTAG connectors, as it would save taking the logic board out from most of the macs and thus save time - but I think it fell through. I was interested in them, but the project has gone quiet, so not sure if he decided it wasn't worth the effort.

    • @Adamant_IT
      @Adamant_IT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      SPI is a data bus used for serial communication between devices, this can be as simple as the SMC talking to the battery to find out capacity/charge/health status, or in this case, it's also how the SMC reads data from the BIOS chip.
      So a bad connection on the SPI bus means critical chips can't talk to each other.
