Panthers Basketball

The Pioneer Basketball Club Panthers program offers the opportunity for young people who have a disability the chance to be a part of a supportive basketball community.
The disability specific program is delivered by an awesome group of Pioneer club coaches who assure that each session enables every participant to grow and learn in the way that works best for them. The program offers an entry level first timer opportunity as well as a more structured, advanced session for those looking to develop their skills.
Those participants who are keen on playing in a basketball competition can join the Panthers Basketball team who play in the year 5/6 Pioneer Winter Weekly competition. This is made possible by the addition of some rule modifications implemented during the match which enables an equitable experience for all players. An example of this is allowing players to score points by hitting the backboard or to not be called on double dribbles if balance and coordination is an issue. Referees and coaches are a part of this process to ensure everyone can make the experience for all players as positive as possible.
