This was pretty cool. I was able to play a song with one of the bands I used to cruise my small Iowa town loop listening to, back in the 90's and that was a crazy experience. Listening to them in high school in the 90's and then on stage with them, guitar in hand in 2019. The band was a little more standard rock and I've always been a bit more industrial oriented, but it was an amazing experience playing lead guitar on a song I used to see on MTV. I was also able to dedicate the song to my mom, who was present and right now, is in extremely poor health and I'm not sure how much more time is left. I'm thankful for that band to let me do that and for her to be able to see me play at that level, even if it was just once. I don't play much anymore unfortunately but I do hope maybe someday opportunity arises to do such a show again. Of course, we/I had some technical malfunctions that night as well but a few glitches cannot overshadow an experience like that. Nice work documenting your adventures. I enjoyed it and I'm a new subscriber now!
Awesome video, this will be a night I will never forget. I hope to see Lords of Acid again. Thank you, Tony, for allowing me to be part of your of your adventure.
Everything about this is epic! You killed it onstage & very well put together video!! Legends are not only defined by their studio musical output, but how they handle adversity & spontaneity which was on full display at the LA show. This entire tour was legendary imo. I saw them in Philly & was blown away and I've been to thousands of shows working in the business. The show was more relevant than most current acts. Praga & Oliver are pioneers and legends in music and are 2 of the most humble musicians I've ever met in my life. Every band member was super cool, down to earth, & professional. Much respect for everyone on this tour....including YOU! Great job!
Thank you!! You should watch my videos on seeing them in Charlotte and Minneapolis. The links are in the description and pinned as the top comment (for now)
This is AMAZING! What an opportunity! You were great! I love that the Mortal Kombat machine was there. That theme song is still a favorite and played in our house on a regular! I was fortunate enough to see Lords of Acid in July 1995 in Columbus, Ohio in a venue with no AC. We had an amazingly fun sweaty time! Never danced more in my life!
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack watching the Minneapolis video now! Somehow I had a feeling you were going to say you were born in 95! Ha! My son was born in 99. He is a huge Mortal Kombat fan!
Oh lovely. Before that, I uploaded “Concert Stories, Part 5” where I tell the story of seeing them in Charlotte. Link is in the description and pinned in the comments. But I do think this may be the best one
Back in 97' Oliver Adams and Lords of Acid alum, Luc Van Acker had a side project called SpinerGrinder and released an album called Meat and Greed, granted it's no Voodoo-U, Downward Spiral, or Psalm 69, but it had its share of bangers and is def worth seeking out.
I Remember meeting them about 17 years ago. I ended up going to a hotel room in Lincoln, NE and piercing TB Franks (Vloeberrg)nipples. I heard he passed and it saddened me greatly. I can say I introduced a LOT of people to LOA. Still use them when I dj sets from time to time.
Congratulations Killbot! I am loving these documentary, adventure style videos. You sounded awesome too, and the moment you walked up with that dress, makeup and hair, all i could think was Rozz Williams 🦇
What an insanely cool experience! I only ever got into a couple Lords of Acid songs, but your past couple videos have convinced me to catch them live if they’re ever in my area (especially if you do a guest spot on it, lol). They seem like a great group of people.
This is probably my favorite video on Lords of Acid you've done. You learn a bit about the band like you (viewers) were there, but getting it from the perspective of Tony. I also like how you talked about them overcoming any obstacles.
I enjoyed the show( I thought it was a dumpster fire at the same time and I love that LOA said the show must go on) and the guest vocalists did great for the lack of time they had to practice. You performed like you do it for a living. I can't wait to see whats next for you. My friend was the chick who sang the rest of pu**y. I loved that Praga let her have the mic🖤
What an absolute joy to watch. I’m so happy for you! I have been a LOA fan since their inception and would have loved to have gone to this show. I love love love it! 🖤
10 minutes from my apartment. 10 minutes and 2 months from my apartment. sorry i missed it. what a great rock n roll story. awesome. don't let it be the last rock n roll story you live.
I got to see em in 99' on the Dirty Little Secret tour at the Trocadero in Philly, Pa Praga Khan opened up the show with his solo project. Great show, good campy fun, lots of costume changes, whips, bondage garb, and dudes in gimp suits in cages.
This is so awesome. Im so sad i didnt go to that show since i am in Los Angeles, would have been wo cool to not only see lords of acid but you as well on stage no less
Love the opening and throughout this whole thing I wondered at my luck in finding you and/or us finding each other since I was anticipating all these with-it people younger than me. Well, as of right now you are about IT. I can see where all the unplanned insanity lost the opportunities to interview band members. That made way for the PLANNED insanity instead, of course. Also good to hear how you’re handling keeping whoevers business to themselves. Crashing at pads and the band bus as well was just GORGEOUS, I am all about a good sleep over (however paste tense that is these days) and the GLORY: Singing on stage in that marvellous dress and you wear it WELL too. In a G-STRING? I think I am relieved not to get that much “information” but I’m sure it would have looked great all the same. Not even Karaoke?! That’s a trip to find out. It’s an okay experience, btw. I’d often hoped to see people use a blow up dolls differently and so I have now seen, thank you. Also good to hear so much banter I would expect but so rarely encounter these days. The enthusiasm too, so nostalgic. And you look good in that dress! Woo-woo! All the cigarettes definitely feels like the 90s. Called a friend? Yay! I think I know who that was. ^_^ It is such a trip hearing about everything as it unfolds and then watching this now. Been so proud and trying to remember my catchphrase for you: Heart of Ferocity? I think I wrote that to someone years ago. It still rings true. Excellent presentation! (Also fun to see the Skinny Puppy shirts considering so much effort for their tour as well.)
Yeah, you got to see dolls battle and then you got to see them bounce like beach balls! Haha! While editing, I was just grinning ear to ear. It was kind of distracting trying to edit
