I have watched countless headstock repair videos over the years. This is the best one I've ever seen. Simply outstanding! 私は何年にもわたって無数のヘッドストック修理ビデオを見てきました。 これは私が今まで見た中で最高のものです。 ただ素晴らしい!
I've only seen Gibson headstock repairs involving splines, dowels or jointed inserts before. Never a glue up followed by mahogany laminations. Very innovative! 👍
There are plenty of comments on the luthiery, and I agree it is unparalelled craftsmanship. I would like to compliment the videography and say that I would love to see longer videos.
Wow, truly amazing repair job. You can't even see the original break! You are truly a master luthier. I bet the guitar sounds better & stays in tune longer now! Kudos to you & the lucky customer who obviously chose the right person to fix their guitar.
As with all of your videos, I'm amazed at the final result and totally mesmerised by the steps you take to achieve it. I'm fairly sure that this repair took longer to do than the original guitar took to build at the factory. Blown away as always. Love your work. I hang on a thread waiting for the next one.
One of the **finest*** neck joint workmanship ever. Been watching a lot of guitar neck joint work and this one is simply on GOD tier level. Love it! Thank you sharing your masterful craftsmanship. This is ART!
In the case of a Gibson guitar, it really doesn't take much to be stronger at the headstock to neck transition. However, I don't think such a stacked overlay provides much extra tensile strength. I rather think that what was achieved in this repair is essentially padding, for any future falls or drops. The layers of veneer simply are not integral to the through grain of the neck wood, but they do add mass where the Gibson headstock is weakest, which is under the truss rod cavity. Given that string tension alone alone is unlikely to cause a headstock break, this is a good approach, versus what many luthiers do, which is to install splines, ostensibly to increase rigidity under load. It could be clearly seen during the sanding process, before the first veneer was applied, that Gibson's fatal design flaw is the lack of wood beneath the truss rod cavity. This area is technically strong enough to survive the life of the instrument, provided it neither falls over, nor is dropped. Incredible attention to detail in the finishing process.
@@ogsworks Please see my reply to Martin. Were you guided by the principle that I noted? The repair is very clever, and was beautifully executed. Bravo!
Awesome repair my friend!! You possess tremendous skills, & it all shows in your work! I don't know which takes more skill: A). Repairing & stabilizing the break in that neck? OR B). Refinishing the back of that neck & headstock to look like nearly new again, & blend with the existing finish on that Guitar?? Either way you have the skills it took, to do a FANTASTIC job with both!! I will be watching for more of your great work!! Ron H. Abilene, TX. USA

If ever I break a guitar. I want this amazing guy to fix it. I love watching craftsmanship at its best. I want to buy the yamaha that he fixed. Keep up the videos my friend Love watching
This is how guitar repair should be done.. no steps were skipped, and I believe utmost professionalism and care were shown in repairing the broken neck, it is probably far stronger than it was originally, and even stronger than others.. the angle of the headstock is probably the weakest design in Gibson electric guitars (yes it creates a better breaking angle for the string but the angle itself has more it’s drawbacks).
The break is completely hidden and the repair is flawless, but no structural support was done. All that holds it together is glue on an imperfect joint, which is now weak. The slightest knock will break it again. Splints would make it stronger, it just wouldn’t look perfect.
I agree. The repair is gorgeous, however the layers of veneer add only mass. This might help the headstock survive a slight knock, but certainly not a fall or drop.
ここまで完璧なネック折れリペアは初めて拝見しました。

Are most of the headstocks Gibson?! I can't tell if it's a manufacturers fault or owner tradition 😅
I agree …. I had to watch this video 3 times to process the craftsmanship being done.
This is truly the pinnacle of guitar repairing. Totally blown away.
Thank you so much!
Unparalleled craftsmanship.
