    I’ve accepted the move. But the design of the ballpark is where I take issue. It’s uninspired. If you’re going to move downtown make it uniquely KC in design. I’d like to see jazz/blues influences maybe some street art by local artists of historic moments in royals history. Also go all out on the fountains both in and out of the park. Also keep the iconic crown on the scoreboard and incorporate crowns into the design. You should be able to look at the stadium from outside and immediately know what city it’s in.

      They've already got all the payoff and kickback taxpayer dollars decided on who and how much. Don't throw a kink in this not needed boondoggle, however right-on your concerns.

    Please don't put it in NKC, that's a different tax bracket area and none of the residents tax $ has ever been used for Kaufman or anything royals!

      North KC has more space to spread out.

    Sherman is putting the cart in front of the horse!!! Open his pocket book and get players who will win games then worry about a new stadium. I honestly hope the vote fails badly. Also Royals needs to fix a deal with Dish network I haven't been able to watch a single game in the last 2 seasons!!

      As much as I hate the new stadium idea if the votes fails kauffman’s lease runs out after 2030 and there would be a high likelihood the royals would move cities like nashville.

    What cost $2 billion here? PNC park in Pittsburgh cost $216 million adjusted for inflation just over $300 million. That's what this kind of looks like. I would support this project for $400 million not $2 billion.

    • @TheStep1980
      @TheStep1980 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Did PNC park's price include development of a new stadium and district? I think that makes a huge difference. These proposals include other buildings and structures such as mid rise offices, etc. But, I see your point and think it would be wise to itemize the development costs for tax payers.

    • @jmoneymaker96
      @jmoneymaker96 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheStep1980The stadium itself would be around 1 billion alone which is complete bullshit. The other 1 billion is the district and personally the district is a stupid idea who cares about that.

    I'm tired of My City being last place or being looked over. Build it East downtown! Out with the old people with old played out ways who don't live in the City Of Kansas City Missouri...or in the State of Missouri period!...In with the New! This would catch us up with St.louis.

    • @bobbg9041
      @bobbg9041 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      0:36 yes Blighted. Let's be like st louis, rows and rows of empty downtown houses and a falling tax base and a lot of county debt.
      Ppl look at your streets, sidewalks
      Parks and the fact Jackson County mo has mismanaged real property taxes. Im sick of footing the bill for private coprations sports stadiums
      Seriously think about it where would be the best place wide open land and a great hwy system
      You would need to look at Tiffany Springs Airport area or just leave it where it is.

      @user-to7hd6bh2e 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @bobbg9041 So if they went North of the River #1 they would have to pay heavy penalties for breaking their lease with Jackson County...And #2 Alot of ppl don't want to cross that bridge up North to A Baseball Game. (Most of the metro population sits and Lives South)...If it doesn't cost anymore Tax to the Tax payer to get a entertainment district which will Add Jobs ,Living Quarters,perhaps more Hotels with Corporate Offices and NightLife Living with Concerts...Then Why Not. It's time to stop putting a bandaid on the old K which cost The Tax payer more just to keep fixing. The Future needs to be Now! And Not Later.

      A lot of money have been invested down town with the streetcar power and light district 1,2 and 3 light the giant ferris wheel the performing arts Crown Center Lego land and aquarium a new Lowe’s convention hotel two new bridges and a new female league soccer stadium and the proposed park over I-70 all implemented downtown. Let’s step it up and make KC a super city, let’s add more entertainment and life to the core of this metro.. more desirability will increase the overall popularity and happiness of both natives and re-locators alike.. KC is the town.

    Downtown all day. Do not make a mistake and build another suburban park. North KC is way too undeveloped and boring, even this district wouldnt be enough to turn it into a lively urban neighborhood. It would still require decades of additional development.

    • @TheStep1980
      @TheStep1980 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I couldn't agree more. Downtown is where the stadium belongs. People visiting for games will stay downtown and have walkability to games, restaurants, bars, shops and power and light, etc.

    • @jeneleh8164
      @jeneleh8164 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree as well. Power and light and the New South Loop park will be great entertainment districts for the park. Us true Kansas Citians don't want to travel to NKC to watch our team.

    Bad mistake. These uninspired proposals have the reek of failure about them. The K is iconic, beautiful and easy to get to from all over the Midwest. Just say no to greedy con artists and their ugly wet dreams.

  • @kungfujiujitsufliptrick4832

    I like the east village idea just a tad more because our skyline hasn't changed since the 80's and the new high rises will help a little. The NKC design looks great thou either one will be better than any baseball stadium currently out there. I thought the K was newer but both the stadiums out there in an empty parking lot looks kinda boring maybe after the K is torn down they can build a little recreation/shopping area outside of Arrowhead.

    The Royals have a ballpark now.
    Its paid for and has been for years.
    It also has first class hwy to get into the park and shows off Kansas City pride one of the best looking ball parks in the nation.
    Either new location, you do not have roads to handel the traffic nor is enough parking space provided.
    I've lived in kansas city over 50 years 53 years, these changes are not nessary and tax payers do not want to foot the bill for it and we shouldn't have to.
    Sports teams need to pay for this out of there own pockets 100%
    Its your team you collect money from ticket sales and its not going to make me any money why should I pay for some rich guys dream let him pay for it.

    • @cityplannerguy
      @cityplannerguy 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You shouldn't have to drive to watch a game. It should be close to a high number of people, thus reducing the need for driving and parking spaces. And even if you do drive to downtown for a game, you're automatically next to a hundred other destinations downtown, so you aren't forced to drive right before and right after the game for other activities. So it's simple efficiency. And the current stadium doesn't exude KC pride or show off the city at all, which is what baseball parks should do. It shows off an empty expanse of nothingness, a gray sea of parking, and no skyline. There's nothing to be proud of out there. That's why they built the outfield structures big and tall to somewhat resemble a skyline. It's common sense to build it downtown when you look at all the factors.

    Where will the homeless get to camp? That area has many underground tunnels and passages from back in early kc days.
