Love him or hate him, Alex is exactly the champion we want to see. Doesn't just get the belt and fight once a year if lucky. He's still hungry. 3 or 4 times a year he wants to fight, that's a mentality I can respect. I love Holloway and my heart broke the other night, but this guy has paid his dues and proven himself inside and outside of the cage. He's earned another fan.
Same I have the same feelings, never really liked him but he’s earned my respect through doing everything perfectly. I feel bad now that I had biases against him in all of his fights. With that being said Charlie Olives first round finish 🤣🤣

He’s nowhere near as dominant as Khabib but yet he’s finishing the same guys a lot faster than Khabib was. There’s a level for sure he’s on, if he beats Islam he surpasses that, and is on Khabibs level.

Volk is absolutely undeniable. I cant even imagine him beating the top of the 155 division. That would be shocking. But he is peeking right now, and Guys in his own division already tower over him. I think it would be the most impressive double champ we've seen. If it happens. Big if.

I really like them both, but man..I love a keen fighter. Volk really is one of my favourites now. He would fight back to back if he could, and yes, he's not boring.
Its that rugby mentality, even if you were the smaller guy, if you're 1 on 1 as a 5'7 scrumhalf weighing 185lbs ur team will still expect you to tackle the opponents 6'3 255lbs number 8, its just one of those things, you know?

But this is just a question about who he'd like to fight. 3 days ago he said in a interview he wanted to fight Islam in Brazil for their match. Dariush deserves a big fight and if he was healthy I'd say he and islam would have been booked again. I think they're just trying to figure that out with how to proceed with that issue they had. Before that it was simple Charles is champ Islam & Dariush fight to see who gets the shot now it's a little messy. I can't blame him for wanting to fight Connor, even if they do it won't be anytime soon.

Exactly. Why would Conor reply to his call out if he does not hold the belt. We all know Charles is the champion, but the 155 division says it is vacant. Conor cannot just get an immediate title fight coming off 2 stoppage losses to Dustin, because it devalues the belt, despite him being larger than the ufc. Our champ Volk has defended his belt 4 times, he deserves to have the chance to fight for another belt

The UFC is catered to the casuals now. And if you're paying attention it's getting worse. What was once the idea of the best fighters fighting the best has become: promoting the most marketable fighters against other marketable fighters from as many countries as possible. They do not care for the inegrity of the sport. Or at least no where near as much as their prjected profit margins or countinued foothold in other countries

I love these guys. 2 of the 3 p4p greats, one has proved he was simply above his whole weight class, the other one just keeps on fighting very dangerous and entertaining fights ( Chandler, Poirier, Gaethje, and now he has Volk, Islam and Conor coming ). Defensively against Holloway, he put on an absolutely master class. His head and foot movement and ability to avoid much damage at all from an accurate volume puncher, and then reply with much more accuracy and power, was really telling.

With all due respect to Charles his recent performances are nothing short of legendary, but he needs to realise although he is the peoples champ, he isn’t on paper. Which is unfortunate but reality. Meaning, if he wants to chase the Conor fight, I believe Volk should have the opportunity to fight for the vacant 155 title then, be it makhachev or whoever else. So Charles, it’s either chase the Conor fight or fight for the vacant. You can’t do both because it just doesn’t make sense. Our champion Volk wants another belt and he’s waiting.

People "failed to capitalize" on Oliveira being hurt because he is so damn dangerous on the ground and nobody wants to go down there with him, even if he is hurt. Charles said recently that he wants the Connor fight for the money. Anyone from 145 to 170 would happily fight Connor right now, they are just farming him for the paychecks. Makhachev is a much tougher challenge and would probably be less lucrative. As a fan, I would prefer to see the more challenging fight (Makhachev), but I would probably have the same priority in Charles's place. At least he's straightforward about it, no bullshit.
