    I took your prelude to this video as a challenge to watch the whole thing! I’m a rebel!

    Absolutely brilliant work as usual Nigel. You can certainly tell by your exacting standards that you were a Rolls Royce engineer.
    Keep up the good work mate.
    You'll be please to hear there were hardly any adverts when I watched

    Nigel I'm watching bunches of videos and you make videos that are entertaining and informative. You give a well rounded view of from the point of view of the modeler

    I enjoyed every second of that, Nigel, and can't believe how quickly it flew by. Some other TH-camrs' videos can get tedious after 10 minutes. I love to follow the problem solving thought processes on display. Bravo! I hope the starboard panel is easier, you deserve a break.

    Nigel!awesome video again ! This is why I enjoy watching your work,it’s modelling ! Trial and error plus how a model can send you down a deep rabbit hole! I’m doing one now ! Enjoying it because that is what modelling is all about ! Feel better Nigel 🍻👍🏻🍻

    I have been building complete 3D kits for a few years now. Not that I am any sort of expert but you’re right. Almost the first thing you learn is that some parts do not work in resin. I add a lot of scratch brass to the resin otherwise it all just falls apart if there is any stress on it. Some kits are well thought out but others you need to be creative.

    Nigel+ question ❓ do they make aftermarket parts for all 1/24 WW2 aircraft like Resin engine's and so on

  • @tamedragon66
    @tamedragon66 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

    Regarding aftermarket in general, I just don't bother. Sure, it looks fantastic, but how much of that is my skill and effort? I'm miserly and quite happy to work with what the manufacturer puts in the box. $450 for a box of resin? That's almost a year's worth of kits for my stingy arse 😊 With that, I'm more than happy to sit and listen to whatever you may be doing while I work at what's on my bench.

    I'd like to have a 3D waterline hull to make my 1/200 Missouri waterline. Heck, at this point, a full hull. Same thing for Trunpeter's 1/350 Texas.

    “Stuka Sunday. Airfix 1/24 Stuka build with extras. #3 Struggling..…” (Nigels Modelling Bench, Sunday, 13 October, 2024)
    David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Sunday, 13 October, 2024)
    Hello, Nigel. Nice to hear of your mother’s visit. I hope she is well.
    As I watch your Stuka video #3, it is not yet 7:00 pm EDT, Sunday, 13 October, 2024)
    At 47:27, you ask apologetically if your working on the kit’s left-side panel, its aftermarket substitutions, etc., seems “boring” to your viewers. Since watching these kit-building videos is the modelling fun in which I am able to engage (that is a long story :( SMH!), no, quite the contrary! In fact, I wish I were doing much the same-though starting with Tamiya’s 1:32nd-scale kits of the 1) Chance Vought F4U Corsair USN/- USMC/FAA Fighter series; 2) North American Aviation P-51 Mustang USAAF/RAF air superiority fighter series; 3) de Havilland DH-98 Mosquito Mk.VI fighter-bomber/Mk.II night fighter, some of which I would convert (with the aid of a high-quality multimedia conversion/detail set) to a Mosquito Mk.IV light bomber variant, and one (at least) to a Mk.II PR photo-reconnaissance aircraft version; 4) the Supermarine Spitfire RAF Fighter of several marks (Vc, VIII, IXc).
    I next would build Airfix’s 1:24th-scale kits of the 1) de Havilland DH-98 Mosquito Mk.VI fighter-bomber/Mk.II night fighter; actually, several: again one (or more) each to modify to a model of 1A) a Mk.IV light bomber version, and another to a reproduction of 1B) a Mk.II PR photo-reconnaissance aircraft variant, 2) Supermarine Spitfire RAF Mk.V, VIII, and IXc Fighters. I might add this kit maker’s P-51 Mustang fighter reproduction; I have not yet seen it, however, that I can assess it for its accuracy. (The sole alternative, as far as I know, would be the Trumpeter kit.) Your video intrigues me enough to include the Stuka replica, which of necessity would require their Hawker Hurricane RAF fighter kit (would this iteration have four 20-mm Hispano cannons or eight 303-calibre machine guns?), building them in tandem to depict a tempestuous ærial engagement at altitude.
    BTW, after you finish this project, will you start Spitfire Sunday? Or perhaps Mustang Monday? Thunderbolt Thursday? Flying Fortress Friday?

  • @andrewtorrens947
    @andrewtorrens947 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    Nigel... just a question.
    Is the kit you are working on from the box..the same as the classic that airfix are selling now???
    ie..the plastic,fresh sprues like the clear parts or tyres?
    Thanks in advance...love your channel!
