Getting Great Deals on EBay Pipes - GC’s “How To”

A quick in-depth look at some strategies for buying eBay pipes.
1. DO YOUR RESEARCH! It’s important to know everything you can to outsmart other buyers, and even the sellers! The more you know, the better pipes you’ll get. Know exactly what you’re buying. Search the markings, compare pricing on estate sites like SmokingPipes, and really scrutinize the listing.

2. SET A BUDGET. Know what you’re willing to spend, and know what similar pipes are going for. Never pay more than market value for a pipe, and never let yourself get in a bidding war.
3. FIND THE RIGHT AUCTION. Look for the right listing-the pipe you want in a price range you’re comfortable with. Look for auctions with few bidders, and bid late to reduce the chances for them to respond. Look for estate pipes that maybe need some TLC, and chance getting a great pipe for far cheaper, even after professional cleaning.
The Dunhill pipe would have been a disaster for my budget because I got in a bidding war. If I had won it the first time (the first winner did not pay) i would have paid 30% greater than market value. DONT GET IN BIDDING WARS.
