    Central prop was 3 blades, 4 blades on Olympic and Brittanic. Also is whole thing running reverse here…can’t quite see the direction of the central prop but certainly the outers are in reverse.

      How? You can look at the blades spinning with the motor set to push forward. If they look like they’re pulling water towards the bow, you’ve got the sides mixed up. The trailing edge of the blade should point in towards the hull.

      Well also the center most prop should not be able to be run in reverse, since it was a turbine with a fixed direction

    How do you put propellers through the ship model without water coming in?

    The outer propellers are going in revers, and the center one is going forward.
    Strange.... 🤔

      I would imagine it is intentional. Digging up some research, this is how they were orientated on the Olympic, which is what many modelers rely upon because there are no known photographs of Titanic's propellers -- Olympic was used by White Star Line as a stand-in to promote Titanic and this is where we have photos of the "Titanic's" propellers. The central propeller relied upon a steam turbine, which can only spin in one direction. As you will notice, the orientation of the blades on the central propeller are in opposition to those on the wing propellers. This was probably to increase efficiency or to make up for limitations of the steam turbine.

      The reason is efficiency 😂

    • @Adesterr
      @Adesterr ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DeveusBelkan It has nothing to do with efficiency when the middle propeller produces thrust in the opposite direction of the outer 2 propellers. Not the propellers go in reverse, they are in "drive reverse" mode and the middle propeller pushes the ship forward.

    • @IllBushido
      @IllBushido ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DeveusBelkannot intentional. The model in the video simply has the two wing propellers on opposite sides. Common people will normally not understand of a ship’s propeller works so this person made a simple mistake.

    La falla importante de los que diseñaron la maqueta es que los vástagos de las valvulas pasan sobre la pasarela de inspección , con la segura muerte de los mecánicos .

    Small detail you could add to the engine machinery, try adding a crosshead to the pistons. It will guide the piston up and down like real life.
