Hey - can the intensity of the light be adjusted or permanently lowered for certain applications? I'd like to install them in my car but I don't want them to shine brighter than my dash.
It would be AWESOME if something like el wire for guitar string, beside neon colored strings.
I have many questions: 1) I'm assuming once you cut the El wire, it can't be charged again right? 2) How does it stay lit when you do cut it and for how long does it stay lit? 3) I also assume that as long as you can hook the El wire to the charger, it can be reused again and again and that it stops glowing when you shut off the charger? I know some of these questions my sound stupid but I have never worked with El wire before and want to know everything I can before getting some.

I'm thinking about using EL-Wire as the standard light source for a room. Using 110-240V inverters and enough Wire, do you think i could "bind" this to a normal light switch to have it go on/off?

I've had innumerable problems with the EL sequencer, what did you go to get yours working for the demo, or did you use the EL Escudo

I plug my elwire to my 12v inverter, and the 12v inverter to a 220v-to-12v(0.8A) to the outlet.
why does my elwire not light up as strong as yours? please answer.
do I need higher amparege from my 220v-to12v inverter or what?

El wire is akin to a capacitor, is to wires wound close together, but insulated from each other.
Just it's surrounded by an EL compound...
You then power this cap with relatively high voltage AC, but low amps, and as long as you keep your two wires from shorting, you're good!
If they short, you've got fried wire!

I put some EL Wire in my Prius Dashboard but after 3 months in Summer it dried. What is the Max Temp that Phosphate can withstand?

in the description it says 3 meters. you said 6 foot. 1M= ~3foot. but but according to the description, and the video, 3M does not equal to 6feet.

the yellow looked yellow when they were all show. Im color blind and i could tell it wasn't the same it was earlier.
can you cut it?
I keep hearing that yes it can be cute. I'm just not sure how it works when it is cut. I have so many questions myself. I do know that if you do cute it, you have to carefully secure the ends with a glue gun or poxy.
+tjt072 im also wanne know if you just can cut the wire? i can use a gluegun or cover the end with some plastic, is that enough?
yes u can cut it, u can cut it to any length, and the reason they tell u to cover the end it to prevent u from getting electric shock, nothing big, but u can feel it. if u cut it then to make a connection from the end u cut off thats hectic, u have to remove the coating and solder 2 points and all that there is a video abt it somewhere not sure ;d
ohh and one more thing, its not "cute" its "cut" :D
