Love the video, thanks. Some feedback on the video itself. When making these videos I'd love it if all the controls Chris is adjusting were actually visible on the screen (Some are off screen). For example when he was adjusting the drums in Mixhub (6:12 - 6:31) you cannot see any of the adjustments he's making. It's also hard to track his mouse at times. Making the pointer larger or highlighting the mouse would be awesome. I know this is meant to be a short demo of what's possible but I tend to learn allot just watching guys like Chris and how they work. Thanks again for the video great stuff.

Exactly what I was looking for when I was buying my first CLA plugins, and because I bought some before, Waves allowed me to upgrade for a good amount less!
I love how natural is for CLA to get the music where he wants to, always sounding good you don't get weird sounds from him even when he tries crazy shit he gets something epic out of it
Incredible video. Great demonstration of what these plugins can do. Although I am a fan and own all these plugins, I expected stacking all these plugins together would be overkill and a bit gimmicky - but he demonstrates some great stuff here and got great sounds all the way through.
I feel that when we are not that experienced we have this notion that we need to hear the effect we put on the mix, it needs to 'be there', and when we stack lots of them we end up cluttering the track, overkilling it, as you said. But he does it in a way that is a lot of times subtle but effective. It's just for a 'feel' more than something to catch your complete attention.
Dude the package that i got on cyber monday was only $60 USD rather than $400 USD. Doesnt have his individual compressor or mix buss plugins but it has (all in mono/stereo or stereo selections) vox, guitar, bass, drums, and his fx buss! So far i am loving the room settings on the drums as well as the bass capabilities!
lol yes, everything I've known about gain staging gets thrown out the window when watching CLA work his magic... but it sounds great! Even if everything is red and all of the alarms are going off hahaha

Damn right! I was enthusiastic when buying the CLA epic, and yes it's good but damn it uses a LOT of CPU. If you don't have a super powerful computer, one good move you can do is to freeze your tracks as soon as your channel strips seem right. This way you avoid CPU overload.
@@Alexisdc11 tried it again tonight and yep it was impossible to play more than like 5 seconds of the track haha. I recently got a Slate Raven and would love to use the MixHub as kind of the main brain of the session. Time to get a new computer I guess! Haha
My brain hurts so much... I have been using cla plugins for 10+ years, and I love them... some of my favorite effects plugins ever, but as with anything else when the red light comes on I assume digital distortion and I ease back... now I watch Chris and he's just will nilly turning all the faders and knobs up to 11 and it sounds great.. is this some sort of cruel joke
So far I've only got CLA Epic, CLA-2A, CLA-3A and CLA-76. And well, SSL EV2. In other words, most of what you hear in this video :) I would like to see an upgrade path from CLA Epic - or even CLA-2A, CLA-3A or CLA-76 to Chis Lord-Alge Signature Series though.

@@msb1704 Most plugins use VU meters. So He's not really clipping the audio. 0vu=-18 dbfs. Most DAWS use dbfs. VU meters are mainly used for analog gear or emulations. Pay attention to the meters on your track and don't worry about the plugin meters so much. Music isn't a visual thing, it's all about what you hear. It doesn't matter how it looks, it's all about if it sounds good.
If you look at his meters you'll notice he's limiting everything. You can always bring the volume down on a track if it clips, but you can't fix audio that's recorded clipping. If he were clipping you'd heard it.
@Tom Howells: That's a good question! But the answer for this case are simple when we saw a whole tutorial there. The answer is "trust on your ears not your eyes". 🙂
I Love CLA Guitars in Pro Tools.. but in Luna, which I love even more, the plugin shows up upside down and backwards, as if you're seeing it in a mirror. Has anyone else had this issue and is there an easy fix? I sent to their support but have yet to get a response and I'm not as patient as I should be. I like both DAW's but Luna suits my brain capacity better and sounds so good with less ability (on my part), so it may be something I'm doing wrong but just need to "fix it please"? Actually my hats off to anyone who can design things to work in today's digital swamp! Some gator's gonna get you somewhere, somehow! :)

Sweetwater just posted a livestream workflow of him mixing. He was almost solely using his ssl console, only plug-ins he used were SSL and used the SSL plugin controller to change parameters. There was zero mention of his waves plugs.

Usually, Mono to Stereo. But it depends on the type of effect. If you just need to do vocal corrections with autotune, you can use a mono one and then mono to stereo aftewards

He uses plugins, but he will die mixing on an SSL board.

it makes no sense to make new plug-ins backwards compatible for older operating systems.. I'm guessing you mean 10.11 (El capitan) because OS11 is big sur and their plug-ins are fully supported on that os

It's so sad that they butchered the mix hub, and even CLA himself only uses the light version, because the "bucket function" is a nice idea but poorly executed. I think the workflow he shows in this video is superior and is pretty similar to mine (because generelly the plugins he made with wave are awesome)

Congratulations, you're a f@#&g idiot! The CLA76 has two modes called blacky and bluey modeled after a black face 1176 and a blue stripped 1176. He is simply referring to the more aggressive black-faced 1176 compressor.
