    I just wanted you to know , I set up the training/student mode with the cord . And following your instructions, it worked perfectly . My grandkids will be so excited when they get to try it out . Thank you both very much . 😊

      @@modelmakingmaniacs8600 yes sir . They love anything with a motor . I built them dirt bikes from the time they could walk . I got them into 1/24 scale crawlers and built a challenging crawler track in the back yard out by the pool , they got very good at that . They also like driving the rc boats , their hand eye coordination is so good it blows my mind. I had forgotten about the 15 rc airplanes I had put up in the attic 18 years ago . And was up there a few weeks ago and seen them . So I thought I bet they would be good at flying too . I asked them if they would like to learn to fly . And they were very excited to learn . So I bought the realflight 9.5s simulator for them to get used to the different transmitter and the extra dimension of flight ✈️ they been practicing on that , while I got 5 of the slower flying planes down from the attic and put knew recivers on them . And bought new transmitters . I'm not sure who is more exited me or them lol .

    OK an update on this subject. We just melted a hole in the back of the "Master" Tx case and hot glued a normal servo socket (cut off an old y-lead) into the hole. This was wired to the battery Positive and Negative points and the signal wire to the PPM Input of the Trainer Socket. A cheap Flysky A8S receiver is velcroed to the back of the Tx and its PPM output plugged into the servo socket. By binding the A8S to the slave Tx and setting the A8S-equipped Tx to "Master" as in this video you have a reliable wireless connection with no dodgy connections, no wires to trip over and full freedom of movement for both trainer and student.
    Plus you can just replace the A8S for any other breed of receiver (must support PPM output and 5.5-6v power) to use with your "Student" Tx of choice. We have also added the A8S system to our TX16S multi protocol radio to allow the cheap FS-i6 radio to "Student" fly a heap of our other planes.

    Hello. Please help me. In the FS-i6X model, USB signals are already output to the
    connector, not UART. This means that a UART converter is not needed and you can
    connect directly to USB. I understand that you can update the firmware via USB. But I
    need to know how to link 2 remotes to train a student and how to connect it to a
    computer for the trainer.
    Questions:
    1.Can I use the USB connection for simulator training?
    2. Will it be possible to connect a computer directly to the PPM output of the Tranier
    connector through the sound input of the card? So how do they do it in the FS-i6?
    3.How to connect the remote control to another remote control. Should I connect the
    pin bus to USB or take the PPM In and PPM Out pins?

    Hello! Do you know if the Flysky Fs-i6x model works connected to the Flysky Fs-i6 model in trainer mode? Thanks!

      We only use the one TX model so I can't answer your question. But I'm going to say the software and hardware is so similar I would expect it to work OK.

    Thanks for the info and the links to the cable connection diagram. It will help getting our Fs-i6 Txs connected. Hopefully that will cross connect FS-i6 and FS-i6X also. It would also help if we could find any info on cross connecting to our TX16S radios with the Flyskys and even a Spectrum 1 that we have. I'm assuming that the PPM signal transferred from slave to master will need the same channel mapping - any knowledge about same? Also could you just feed a PPM signal from a receiver to the PPM input of the master and use that as a wireless link from the slave? That would take care of a lot of cable compatibility issues and allow disparate systems to cross connect.

      We haven,t tried this with any other transmitters so not much help to you there. Interesting idea to get a wireless connection for this process. That would require some testing to verify that it could be done and not interfere with the Trainer / Studen functionality. Last thing you need is your plane falling out of the sky when training. Ha Ha.

      @@modelmakingmaniacs8600 Unfortunately I'm just an Old Fart bogged out in the bush so I'm not able to do the tests required before hooking a receiver up to the PPM ports on the FS-i6 Txs. No chance you fellahs know anyone with an oscilloscope? What we need to be sure of is if the voltage output swings of the receiver and the PPM input of the Tx are the same.

    Hi,for the student transmitter,do I need to bind it 1st with the trainer receiver?

    • @modelmakingmaniacs8600
      @modelmakingmaniacs8600  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Muhammad, You only need the trainer TX bound to the model. The student will have control through the trainer transmitter and will not need to be bound to the model.

    Hi Guys, can you please advise how I set up trainer mode with FlyskyFSi6 transmitter with radio master TX16S as the trainer transmitter. I set up trainer mode on the TX16S but I don’t know what protocol I need to select for the fsi6 transmitter?

    • @modelmakingmaniacs8600
      @modelmakingmaniacs8600  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi James, If you set up student mode on the FSi6, does the Flysky transmitter have control when the switch B is engaged on the TX16S? There is only one setting on the Flysky transmitter for Student mode.

    • @modelmakingmaniacs8600
      @modelmakingmaniacs8600  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You also need to make sure the S-Video cable between the two transmitters is earthed. That is the metal casing on each plug needs to be connected by a wire between the two plugs.

      Hi thanks for your advice, I’m not using the manual cable I’m using the jumper 4in1 multi module, but I didn’t set the fsi6 to student as I didn’t need to do that with the other different brand radio transmitters I have?

    I tried to hook up my FS-i6X in trainer mode with an FSi6 transmitter as the slave. I the cables supplied with the transmitters but joined the USB end with a USB connector. I don't know if this worked! H I set a switch for the trainer mode but when I switch it on the engine starts. Any thoughts, please?

      Pretty sure you have to use a modified S-video cable, or a cable designed especially for trainer mode?

    After searching a while I found today a stupid trick to keep your settings on the student tx, specially the stick mode,if you don’t switch the student tx to student mode you keep the settings and the tx just sends the ppm signal to the trainer to, channels are equal but you have to change the other settings manually

      Did you ever try this? I found that I needed to duplicate all settings on my trainee radio, including trim, which surprised me, since that contradicts what the student mode warning screen says.

    I do not understand why the trainer has zero control when in trainer mode. The trainer should have control all the time without having to flick a switch. In other words any input from the trainer should override the student. Also I would assume and hope the trainer can give only the controls he wants to give to the student. Ie just ailerons and throttle for example.
